Lupo is been my razor of choice for the last six months. I found the right combination with a heavier handle and a permasharp blade. Perfect combo for a close and confortable shave.

Great shave Michael. Can't go wrong with ANY of RazoRock's products. I have returned to straight razors on a fulltime basis. Got a blood free shave today and had no trouble mowing off a 5 day old beard. I'm also not going to be fooling with Twitter anymore either. They locked me out of my account for 12 hours for a "violent/hateful tweet" yet they allow iran to post violence all of the time.

RR Lupo this morning with a Bic Chrome Platinum blade and Grooming Department "Mallard" shave soap. OMG, one of the best shaves of my life ! This razor and blade combo works amazingly well for me... post shave feel was superb...extremely soft skin feel. Grooming Dept has got to be one of the best soaps out there, if not the best !! Mind you, last week I tried the Lupo with a Feather blade and the shave was horrible .... go figure ... Cheers !

Thanks again, Michael! Great review. Glad I watched this... thought about the Lupo and the Wolfman WR1 before and never bought as I feared they would be chatter-y at the blade edge. I think the more curved designs are way better for me - think Baby Smooth or Timeless Stainless or Titanium head designs.

I went for the gold Lupo. A little too aggressive for me -- so I use Shark blades which tones it down and allows me a comfortable shave.

I've noticed that you avoid a south to north pass on your face and an east to west/west to east on your neck. Is that due to sensitive skin? There's no way I could come close to BBS if I didn't perform those strokes. I can't tell you how many different types of strokes I have to perform on the inner parts of the neck, jawline and the chin to get to BBS. I also need to lather all the way to my collarbone and shave that sensitive area way at the bottom of the neck, too. I'm not exactly one of those guys who have 5 o'clock shadow at noon but I have dense, coarse growth in areas. I also have to trim the bridge of the nose, sides of the eyes and a few hairs at the top of the cheekbones. I'm amazed that most of you RU-vid shavers finish up so quick after a 3rd pass.

Hello Michael. Great stuff, as usual. Was wondering if you have already had the chance of trying out the recently launched FOCUS Tritock, Al, DE razors. The NEW range offers a "flat" head R51, a "concave" R52 and a "slant" R53. They all appear to be most interesting and could probably be worth measuring up against the ATT, Calypso R1/S1 offers. Looking forward to your views, all the best.

I like the Lupo, but weightier heads just work better for me and are my preference. Going to throw on a heavier handle to give that a try and see how it goes. Whenever the stainless Lupo gets back in stock, I want to compare that the aluminum.

could someone confirm whether the lupo's head design is the same/similar to the one in the switch ?

Were do you get the washer from that you use on your Safety razors

Love this razor and the SS version. Only gripe is the finish of the SS one smudges and shows fingerprints easily. The head design doesnt balance on its side when you set it down too which is a tad annoying.

Where can I find that soap ?

Perhaps the soap would have benefited from a tiny bit of menthol in addition to the spearmint? I saw that River Valley Trading got a Twitter and IG account. How do you compare Stirling balm to others like Sudsy and Zingari? I got a Stirling balm but I would have preferred a product which is faster absorbed and less sticky and with more skin healing properties.

I have had a few "CNC machined" aluminum razors from ItalianBarber, and every single one of them had uneven blade gap or blade exposure. One of which held the blade like a slant razor, so I don't think the term CNC machined really applies to them. A true CNC machined razor shouldn't have those issues.
