I couldn't handle "regular" blades in the Hawk V3 OC but I have had wonderful success using guarded blades. The Feather Soft Guard provided strong results but the ProGuard was even better. Still waiting to sample with the Kai Guarded blade. Really reduces the aggression but still feels efficient and smooth.

Great shave. I checked the Razorock OC Hawk on the Razorock website, and it’s still in production but currently sold out. I used a slant razor yesterday, and man what a close shave that was. I should shave more with it in the future

That razor is a beast. I'm impressed, Ken: No cuts on your lip or neck. I don't rinse between shaves unless I think the lather is a bit dry. I also cut below my lip sometimes. So what I do now on the second pass is to take strokes at a 45 degree angle instead of horizontal strokes. Seems to work a little better. And forces me to slow down in that area.

Love this cream! It’s available at regular stores here in Canada so im surprised it isn’t in the US. Maybe just a market thing? I always use it with a brush. Nothing beats it!

You're a brave man Ken. I have the Hawk v3 in SS on the standard plate. It's smooth and efficient. I've just taken delivery of the A for aggressive plate, which is apparently a bit more aggressive than even the OC. Like you I'll be taking that shave, very carefully!

Actually, the OC plate is more aggressive than the A plate even though it is supposed to be the opposite. OC removes longer hair better and doesn't get clogged nearly as bad and that is what it is for!

I use a brush and lather up as you did. It works great. It is a traditional creme from my homecountry germany and a rather unexpensive drugstore brand. The last tube I bought was about 1.50€, the equivalent of less than 1.83 $

You can also get a Sensitive Skin Nivea shave cream in the tube in Canada. They use to list Witch Hazel and Camomile as ingredients... I think. I have a great memory it’s just kind a short.

I do rinse off between passes. I usually use warm water except for after the last pass. Then I use cold water. Nice video, especially since it wasn’t another Global Shave Club video. The State of Oklahoma sent me a link to sign up for the inoculation, but every time I try to sign up there are no spots available. I hope that things went well at the Dermatologist.

hawk v3 ss oc nice .i have that razor. for me i tend to ride the cap just a hair or she is a bit livery that's for sure . but very close shave 2 passes only . get some really good mileage out of the blades . good luck tomorrow. wow has it been 4 months already i remember when you went for the face check last time

That cream's also available in Canada; my local Wal-Mart carries it. Needed to buy some when I got stuck out of town with work and needed to shave daily. Better than canned goo by miles, but doesn't touch an artisan soap (it's also only about $5/tube, so it is great value).

Cool shave Ken. I have one of these nivea shaving creams too. They are very protective and smell good. Some days ago i bought the Tabac aftershave lotion, i tell you thats one nice smelling aftershave! Try it out Ken, if you can get it in the US.

Yeah, I also don't rinse between passes, I find the water makes it harder to lather up the 2nd time around. I could dry off before lathering up again, but I don't really see why I would bother..

Hi Ken. Interesting that the Nivea Cream isn't available in the US. It's sold here in Canada at our local Walmart for about $5 CAD, and I use it all the time. They also have a sensitive skin version. Good shave, good video. Keep up the good work!

No Hawk 3 OC on the RazoRock site but there are still some left on the Italian Barber site.At half the price they were before Christmas. It looks like the Hawk 3 generally is discontinued. Still plenty of Hawk 2's on both sites. I'm in the UK. Ive used Nivea and its always with a brush. Bought your 21 brush. Hope it gets sent out when they are able to do so!

The nivea is good stuff. We can get it Walmart or our local drug store (Shopper's drug mart) here in Ontario Canada. I think you may also be able to get it from Amazon if you like it and want more it's cheap stuff like $4 CDN a tube but man is it good, slick as anything, mild scent so layering is easy and their balm is my go to as it kills any irritation you might have.

I have an old can of Nivea Gel, it can be lathered and it's good (otherwise if you rub it in , it's sticky garbage). So now after this shave, you don't need to go to the dermatologist.....all cancer cells were wiped off by the blade. I do rinse between passes if the soap is thick , otherwise niet

Most soothing after shave balm i ever tried was EJ Aloe Vera Balm, its expensive one, but unbelievable, i am using it as first aid just for especially bad shaves :-)

Hey Ken. I have a question. Yesterday my mom bought me a bottle of Brut. She thought it was aftershave, but after I took a closer look at the bottle, it said it was Splash-On Cologne. Can I still use Splash-On Cologne as an aftershave? How would it work as an aftershave in your opinion?

Ken💈💈 Nice shave with the Hawk. The German Nivea is much better than the North American(Mexico)version, don't know why but it's superior for my skin. Those artist club blades are not forgiving, thick and sharp.. Stay safe. Enjoy!

Rinse the face between passes serves no purpose mostly. Lathering for the next pass removes any meaning of rinsing before it. That is, MOST OF THE TIME.

*That cream is no different than any other top shelf cream* Used to be able to get that Nivea cream at Walmart or the grocery store in NY. It’s fantastic… on par or better than Proraso. I’m not exaggerating it’s unbelievable and cheap… or was because you can find it anymore. *Ouch way too much water… I knew that as soon as he pulled that brush out and didn’t ring it.

Thanks for this review. Some forum posts have claimed that the 'Open Comb' model is more aggressive than the 'Aggressive' model, but RazoRock says otherwise. The open comb Hawk (with a 3.85" (98mm) Maggard MR18 handle and Feather 'Professional Super' blades) is one of my favorites.
