That torque gauge is showing the torque split between the front and rear wheels, since the ATTESA system (in the GTR) is primarily RWD until the ECU detects slip of the front wheels and then it proportions pressure to the hydraulic clutch pack which applies torque to the front wheels.

Correction: GT-R is rear wheel drive until you push it into AWD because of slippery surface, hard wheelspin acceleration or god forbid try drifting with it. AWD kicks in and distributes power to the front wheels which on top distributes power between themselves depending on where grip is at. If a tire goes completely off the ground that tire won't be spinning out of control as the GT-R catches that shit pretty fast and cuts power until it hits a surface. This way you won't have a mini-burnout on that tire when it hits a surface spinning out like crazy because of no surface resistance midair beforehand.

There's one available near me tagged and titled with low mileage and I can afford it, I've been going back and forth and reading up- I think showing this as the owner's DD just put me over the fence, I think I'll go for it.

Right hand drive seems so appealing

So it's making 373 hp.. that's 100 more HP than stock. On stock turbos. That's Awesome! But I was hopeing to hear a little more on how it's making that much more power. Is it a factory ECU? Any tune? Stock injectors? Or is the boost just turned up? And that flutter sound it makes on the stock BOV I'm sure is just the result of more boost, cause I have not really heard that sound from other "stock" GTRs. Sounds amazing. I'm about to be in the market for one of my own! But would really like to know some more about this car, any chance this owner also has a youtube channel? haha

I have had two R32 GTSTs and an R33 GTS25T but thats all gone and got a track/stripped used R32 GTR.Miss the rwd gtsts but man does the GTR does.Also got the 2wd/4wd drive switch too.I'm from NZ so hopefully one day I can import it to the US when I come there!

I think the only other car that has anything similar to the torque gauge is the Bugatti Veyron. it has a horsepower gauge. I've been loving the skyline since I lived in Japan back in 1997. R32, R33 and R34s are legends.

there is a torque meter on a new Hyundai Genesis coupe GT....which is useless. but the gtr gauge tells you how much torque is being sent to the front. (peculiar enough their units on the gauge is non sense it should be %)

It's not the stock blow off valves making that noise, it's flutter, the stock valves can't release enough pressure when you start running more boost let alone bigger turbos.

This is probably my dream car honestly... Really it's the R34 that I ultimately want but I'll probably get an R32 to hold me over until 2023. Just gotta fix up my Celica to selling condition and save up like 10 grand first... lol

I think the newer hyundai genesis coupes have a torque gauge. Just food for thought

hey about the rattles, plastic composition and general fitment of parts. Manufacturers try to cut cost by clipping trims and such in less places than there should, so you end up with rattles... so many rattles.

There's a mini-tune up you can do by pulling out a tube from some boost restriction system under the hood that gives more boost to the turbo apparently. You're just removing a restriction Nissan purposely put on there because Japan, but it raises the horsepower by quite a bit. 276HP goes to 323HP. In my case I might have to take the car for a dynamo test, among other things, just to get it registered over here. Definitely leaving the restriction until after this process then perhaps I'll consider removing it once registration offices sees it as a 276HP car, then reattach if ever, for some weirdo reason, I were to be called in for a dynamo test later on.

Hey, I have a s2000 right now, have owned a tuned rx7 and a cayman s. I am looking at a tuned r32 right now (400hp). any advice/insight?

It's more than just AWD vs RWD. It has a larger motor and two turbos instead of one. It's very different.

One year from now (oct 2, 2017) my 25th birthday, ill be on the hunt for one of these or a gtst.

Real differences between R32 GTR and "the other ones". GTR has rear fender flares imbeded into the body, much like the Subaru WRX and Porsche 944 (as do the R33 and R34 GTRs). In other words a "natural wide-body". The "Other lesser skylines" have regular boring flat-bodies. GTR (im so surprised he didnt think of this as THE difference other than ATTESSA). RB26DETT engine... 2.6 twin turbo making over 300 crank hp VS that dinky RB20DET in the runner-up GTST making a lousy 205 crank. (which says even less about models below the GTST like the non turbo ones... some R32s even came with CAs.. ewww, slow af!)

Someday I just want to own 4 of the main Skyline GT-R's.. The 1971 Skyline GT-R, 1989 r32 Skyline GT-R, 1995 r33 Skyline GT-R, and 1999 r34 Skyline GT-R That would be my dream grauge with my favorite muscle cars and European supercars as well.. :D

The torque gauge is showing how much torque the attesa is sending to the front wheels(can get modules to manual adjust for better traction). Not how much torque per say... Ive owned a few. Awesome machine for a 25+ year old tech.... last one I had 366awkw. If ever u in Melb Oz we got some daily drives u could see.... love ur channel!

Not true. GTS-T= RB25 And rwd. GTR = AWD and RB26. The RB26 is twin turbo with individual throttle bodies and several other goodies, plus HICAS.

I dunno about those BOV. maybe stock for the 34 turbos though... my stockers on my r32 gtr have more of the pshh sound as the air is recirculated and doesn't release to the atmosphere.

OMG...the 2 Skylines you did in these videos...JDM just nails it...every single time. I don't know how they are doing it, but there is just something about Japanese Sportscars that sets them off from everything else on the Planet.

He's got the same window trim problem as me. Besides those small things his is pretty damn clean.

And for anyone that doesn't know since DIB didn't seem to know (or at least mention anything about it), the torque gauge measures the torque to the FRONT wheels only. At normal conditions, it will read zero as 100% of the power is in the rear, but the gauge reads up to 50 and that's what the front can receive if driving conditions call for it.

Talking about interior rattle, the interior of my brand new 2017 Shelby Mustang has been rattling since the first day I pick up the car. Come on, America....

The quality of the dash isn't that different from s13's, Yes s13's are notorious for having cracks in the dash, but r32's are just as faulty but with bubbles instead, just look at the passenger side dash, the notch is completely bubbled out, Id bet there would be one around the gauge cluster too, Not hating, just stating some facts, love the car, channel, nissans, and david

This thing has more horsepower than my Porsche Cayman GTS XD. I bet this thing is still faster than many insane horsepower cars on certain races. Downhill, maybe even up hill vos of gearbox, controllability etc.everyone is so into the whole *horsepower fallacy* these days. More power doesn't necessarily make a faster car in a race nor a more fun car (but sometimes it does , especially when it's other parts can keep up)

I think it is adorable that all these American car channels are drooling over stock and lightly modified Skylines. They got their reputation and mystique from being highly modified. Much like a supra. I mean is a stock supra cool? Not really. He needs to go to Australia and see what 20 years of building produces. Seriously I haven't seen one US GTR skyline that is special. Go to Australia and see what the GTR is about.

I have a Focus ST that is a year and few months old with 29k on it.... full of rattles and at 30k km taking it in the dealer to have them figure the shit out... yeah pretty sad modern cars just literally fall apart
