No scaled dumptruck to put the snow on a neighbors driveway?
@peterossi
@peterossi 9 лет назад
Coming from an actual loader operator in snow, I suggest you tilt the bucket forward and use just the cutting edge to scrape pavement. Its better for the bucket. And have you ever considered making a scaled protech snowpusher for it!? That'd be awesome!
@nonyabusiness2592

Cool my uncle has been one for 15 years..you don't flip it forward stupid..you'll grind the edge down to nothing 😶

The fact that it is leaving scale looking tread marks on cleared areas just sells it even more.

That has no prolem moving through that small amount of snow you need a foot of snow to really test its limits lol. A block heater for a lawn tractor might be all you need for that.

Hey Medic ! As a technician that work on hydrostatic motivated machines, I have to give you the thumbs up on this custom loader! It's just too cool! A suggestion for the cold temp, most auto part retailers carry hydraulic fluid designed for cold temperature use. I'm not familiar with your area but It maybe a good idea to check around locally to see if you find a compatible one before you try the heating system. Good luck Medic! Great vid as always

Good shots with the video and from the drivers seat too. Glad you are recovering so dont over do it. Thank you so much for the footage no matter how long or short they are..........John.

Medic! To make this beast a little more scale you should put say a 1 inch by 2 inch strip of rubber across the bottom of your bucket they use this on full scale when their normally pushing stuff on black top or tarmac like say gravel at a landscaping business or snow in front of your house.

djmedic, one thing about hydrualics is the fluid is heated as its pumped along with squeezed in and out of the cylinders,you may need a warmer for the tank and some line insulator but other than that you shouldnt need anything else
@999benhonda
@999benhonda 9 лет назад
not really, just need hydraulic fluid meant for the cold. it wont thicken up as bad as regular H fluid.
@duncanbarton7716

Transmission fluid - Dex/Merc for example. Used in sub-zero temperatures for the hydraulic lifts in cooler/freezer warehousing applications. But may have to be swapped back over to hydraulic oil in summer to prevent overheating system if used for an extended time in the heat.

It would be fun to build one the size of a lawn tractor with a 20 hp motor put cameras on it and operate it from the kitchen table.
@nicke1903
@nicke1903 4 года назад
You figure a 4,000lb Skid Steer is close to say 30-40hp....if you built one @20hp you could have a 1700lb Machine easy lol. You start adding thick plate steel the weight comes on fast, I can see where that's 500lb.
@ALSomthin
@ALSomthin 4 года назад
@@nicke1903 No just a crappy little 20 hp briggs lawnmower engine (not exactly a skidster diesel power plant.) Put a small hydraulic pump on it. Might even get by with a 10 hp . Make it out of 10ga steel and old bedframe angle iron some 1/4 inch here and there. Shouldnt be any heavier than a lawn tractor with a snow blower attachnent along with a 20 hp Briggs motor on it. 500 pounds is about what my old wheel horse weighed .

@diggingwithmartin 9 лет назад
that is AWESOME!!!! its a work of art with a lot of muscle behind it too. your friend did an amazing job designing and building that monster!!! make sure there are no manhole lids or waterline gate boxes in the pavement where your pushing, those are real pin & cutting edge testers when you hit them...... there is nothing worse than hitting those in a real loader or snow covered curb basins/curbs you cant see. I had to clear intersections the big trucks couldn't get thru with a 644 and you never know whats sticking up just enough to slam you good, so go slow where you don't know the area...........
@NiklasAdv
@NiklasAdv 9 лет назад
Thats why you got "flexing steel" on plows. so you can go over manholes without destroying your machine and yourself doing it. atleast on 1:1 scales ;)
@diggingwithmartin
@diggingwithmartin 9 лет назад
on a truck yes but not on a loader bucket, even an over sized snow bucket doesn't flex. best you can do is flip it open and back drag or push with it flipped and it will give a bit in the curl cylinder seats. im talking a real deere 644 loader, not a model.

@ROTAXD
@ROTAXD 7 лет назад
Cool ! I think I'd be making a few changes to customize the rig. 1st I'd be ditching the two deep cycle batts for a 10 hp diesel and either using it to run a high amp alternator or to run the hydraulics. Second, I'd find some way to self center the hydraulics for the steering...just for ease of use.

Always something new with this kid.Medic way to start the new year with a whole different angle on remote control vehicles. Any chance I could barrow your new 1/4 scale construction crew including operator to landscape my tiny backyard? Seems as though my wife didn't appreciate the figure 8 test track with four foot banked berm to fence rides and a five foot kicker at the intersection as much as my nieghborhood 1/10 SCT buddies and I did. She made my New Years resolution to give her back landscaped yard. Wa wa waaa. Sorry to see that your sick. Same for me at Christmas. I had holiday snots, you know, blow your nose and one side comes out green and the other red.. Heard they were really calling it the Canadian flu.. Lol. Happy new year to my favorite you tube sensation, can't wait to see what you'll pull out of that wicked CREATIVE IMAGINATION IN 2015.

Nice one medic, as regards a way to keep the hydraulic system warm you can try a thermoelectric plate,they are about 1 inch square and flat . Cheap on ebay and will run for ages on a 9 v battery . Good thing about them is that they heat up in one polarity and cool if polarity is reversed hence can also be used in the warm season.....if it ever gets warm where you live in Canada.
