Hey medic, your issue is that the chain is stretching, happens on the motorcycle all the time. the only real fix for it for a longer time is a larger pitch chain, but that does not look like an option for this application. As the chain does stretch it moves to the outer part of the gears, causing exesive wear and tear on the gears, bending the teeth on the gear. just something to be aware with that part of the drive line. For the diffs, i have not a clue yet on a desgin we coud do on the cnc. i would have to have a limited slip and tear it apart and look at all the pieces to see what we can make and put together that is strong enough for all the torque that motor puts out. It would almost be easier to put a electric locker on it instead and have it turn on when it is going forward and turn off when turning.
when it's that far apart, GREASE EVERYTHING! lol. noticed some disconnects for that drive motor wouldnt be too bad of an idea for future tinkering. awesome machine!
In the future when you have the "bugs" worked out of this loader, in my opinion this thing would be PERFECT for helping guys make the trails/mudbogs/axlebreakers like on the TTC videos. Take this monster and use it to work on the trails (and of course video it). Just a thought! Good luck man!
medic I don't know if they make one small enough, but maybe you could switch it over to a hydro-static drive. I have seen snow blowers with differentials in them, maybe you could take one out of one. Just some food for thought, keep up with the awesome videos
I appreciate all your effort you put into making these awesome videos!! And that is pretty amazing machine, and I think it can be useful for maybe moving the snow from your house or perhaps working on the rc track you were building a while ago. BTW, I'm on the "why not?!" Team ;) Can't wait for part 2 :D!!
So never ever get under anything held up by hydraulic cylinders. If it bleeds off or a hose breaks that bucket will come down hard on you. Just an FYI. Sweet machine.
Love it Medic, I would consider harbingering some ni-mh battery packs from a hybrid car for the batteries on this one :-D they are cheap, easy to strip down and charge. But mainly they provide a better peak current and have better storage than the sla's :-) with a bit of luck you could remove the SLA's upgrade cap and peak power while at the same time clawing a bit of space back to store some of the cab electronics, or for more ni-mh battery cells so it has even more peak power or battery life :-D Perhaps an on-board live wireless feed would be sweet to :-) could fit nice in the cabin there :-D all in all though, looks pretty legend :-) and a good investment :-D
Just a thought what about fitting a slipper clutch on one or both ends of the centre driveshaft this would still allow for drive but 'give' if something starts to bind, speak to your local Agricultual dealer about pto slip clutch's.
How's the work on overkill going? And you should really have a bucket for that wich is a baby seat so you can drive your son around. That would be cool :]

I am going to strongly disagree with 'There's no room for an engine in here'. There's LOADS of room for an engine. Nest one that stands straight up and down(rather than one of the modern horizontal crank engines that cants over to the side' right up against the 'cab', then the generator will run just above the rear axle. All the room left in the rear housing is more than sufficient for the hydraulic systems.
I know you said there's no way to fit a engine in there but think a miniature small block chevy would work, look, and sound amazing, you could probably fabricate some heads so the exhaust would actually go out the pipe. Just a pipe dream but think about lol

How much does that loader cost ? Who can afford to pay 5 or 10 or 12 thousand dollars for a Rc loader .even if I could I wouldn't. This hobby has priced itself out of reach for most people .the affordable equipment is all junk
I heard you say in the rc skateboard that you won't put your little one in or on any rc. I agree to a point. I only use cars or trucks that I can out run and I stay between the kid and any danger. I would like to see what you would do to a power wheel. I made one full rc. But I would like to see it ramped up a bit.
