RC Airplane Maule M7: 2nd Flimsy Spektrum A330 SUB MICRO Servo Fail

BARELY bumped the rudder, cheap A330R Sub Micro Servo Stripped Gears, 2nd one, never had this problem with other servos. This is a $9 servo! At the Maule's price point, Horizon Hobby ought to be installing a better quality servo than this in the Maule, IMO. Replacement servo ordered, when it comes I will install it and reschedule my Club Check Flight. Will have to replace all the cheap A330 servos with metal gear version I guess. Still trying to take the TRUST exam on FAA website but not having success so far. Will keep at it until I get everything sorted out. 👍👍😀🛩️🛩️🛩️🛩️

Totally agree, I’ve had two planes brand new out of the box where they break servos on a bench test. The Cherokee 1.3 and my maule 1.5 I ended up buying metal gear servos for both before I even flew them. Kind of a bummer on these models 100 bucks in servos before you even fly…? I don’t even bother calling the manufacturer cause I don’t want another crappy servo. Lol

Does not make sense. They should definitely have a recall type action on these problem issues. At least offer better replacement or even a discount on replacements. Take care Mark.

Thanks for commenting Jason, I guess they're using these servos to reduce production costs, and I guess I have to be even more careful not to bump them going in and out of the car!

It's just not good enough Mark!! I would replace them with some Savox servo's they work well, you haven't had the Maule long 😒

I ended up replacing with a Spectrum, as I was only replacing one, and I was wisely advised that all servos be the same, so they all perform the same. It's the Spectrum A334 9 gram submicro, $9. Thanks for watching, I subbed to your channel!
