I currently have the DS wheels and I love them but it’s so hard changing tires. If I buy the MST and I glue them, can I still change out tires with the MST tool?

I don’t recommend to use glue, there foam and o ring inserts available to keep it in placed, the mst tool for me is very important, it will make tire install easy, specially for reve D and yokomo tires. Mst fixed offset rims will be recommended for easier tire replacement compare to universal offset DS racing.

I have three Traxxas Slash/Rally 1/10, one 4S 2800KV is set for tarmac, one 4S 2250KV is set for gravel, and then I have the Rally Fiesta that is equipped with 4S 2800KV and I would like to use it for drifting. Is it possible to find a set of wheels with ~100mm diameter and offset 0 for this car?

Wow, most of your rc have too much power, there are several factor need to have a good drift car, here a list 2wd, fast servo, very good steering angle, gyro and weight distribution or balance on your car, 4wd will give you less control over the direction you want to drift, you will get more wider approach angle, regarding 100mm tires with 0 offset, it will be very challenging to source that size out, some use make shift PVC pipes, cut it to the right diameter of your wheels, but it going to be trial and error and really depends on the surface you are going to drift and does if it give enough grip for drifting.

@@oliverstoys8411 Nja, you can never have too much power! :D This is just to make some use of the Rally Fiesta and I have 3S to use as well, and I can always turn down the power in the radio. I'm no drifting guru, and it will be for entertainment purpose with some cones on the front yard. I'm no basher or drifter and mainly drive on track, so I don't need crazy steering angles or heavy mods and I have looked at the PVC DYI, but rather buy something a bit more ready to go. Have a nice RC Easter!

Hello, it is best to get the all around drift tires from ds racing LF3 first, check if you are getting too much grip or too slipper, then you can either go plus 1 more grip or less, another good brand they recommend reve D DT-AS-014 (AS-01) all around tires, if your concrete is polished you need get more grip tires.

Hey Volks, i have a Set of Speedline 2.0 Wheels, they are a bit bigger then all other Brands....its like 21" and all others are smaller like 20" Hard to find on Net do you know somthing abbout this i think standard Touring Rim Dimension Drift Tyres ?

Hello, as far as i know, most common drift tires available in the market are for 2 inch (52mm) drift rims like mst, yokomo, reve d, tamiya and others, as long your RC uses 12mm hex, you should be able to use this type of rims, which you can access the common drift tires available online (ds racing, mst, reve d and others), if you still prefer to use your speedline 2.0 wheels, you need to DIY using PVC which will be more challenging to incorporate and getting the right grip you need will be limited, there a lot of type of drift tires for different floor surfaces to give you the best handling.

1/14 tamiya semi- truck use same 12mm hex at the rear, it can be mounted but not sure the total clearance to the wheel well. As for the front drift wheel will not work, because tamiya front wheel ball bearing style( free wheel).

Tires, depends on the surface, most of the drift tires are solid hard plastic with different traction levels, for example yokomo drc tires design for tiles, ds racing lf3 are design also for tiles or carpet, most often i buy from RCmart or asiatees if you live near asia, for US market super G or Amain hobbies, most common brands are yokomo, mst, ds racing and reve d.

* * * HELP * * * I am getting my first drift RC car in a week or so and am wanting to go with a smaller diameter wheel. ( like a 14-15 IRL ) dont really want that "hot boi" stance look with the stretched tire look. idk where to look / who sells them etc. can someone help / assist on where to look ?

Hello, there a few manufacturer that i know have size 15 wheels (that looks small) but the drift tire they also use the standard sizes, you can find the some at rcmart “Scale Dynamics V16D”. if you are base, states side check out Super G Drift store.

That will be a challenge to get the tires for 1/18 scale, most common size for 1/10 and 1/28 scale. I don’t know if ds racing will start supply 1/18 scale and it really depends it will get adequate followings. And the hpi platfrom is 4x4 right? The tire should be good enough with factory tires, because there too much traction for all four wheels, driving technique will be a lot different to most common 2wd drift.

I not familiar with traxxas 2wd rustler, most common 1/10 scale used 12mm hex, it should work but the wheel size will be too small for that buggy and you need to figure out the right offset to give clearance to the wheel (rear) hub.

@@gecko1406 there a ready to run MST 2.5 RMX $400 usd included motor servo gyro and body shell (down side gyro and servo not upgradable), if you prefer building your own ground up, yokomo yd2z kit $250 usd price may varies depends where you are from. Cheapest kit without electronic and body will be 3racing d5s, chassis cost around $100 usd.

Is asiatees reliable if i wanna purchase wheels and tires? Ive seen a few mixed reviews.

For me Asiatees are pretty reliable, the only issues i have with them are some product imperfections (mst unbalance and deformed wheels) and (kyosho kits) missing parts, which usually not asiatees fault, requesting replacement or missing parts can be full filled as long as you complain not longer than a month or earlier at best, this annoying if you are located far away from asia because of the longer wait time.

I used the original wheel adaptor that comes with the radio, and add small styrene sheets leftovers, cut small pieces on each side (apply a little shoegoo let it dry) and then test to fit, i using MST drift rim with 12mm hex shape, you can always removed the styrene mod if you want to return to original.

Standard size for the 1/10 scale drift wheel (rims) around diameter 52mm width 26mm. Including tire 62mm for ds racing and yokomo drc 60.5mm

MST and ds racing include foam pad insert which hold the plastic tires in placed, every time you replace the worn out tires, the foam insert deformed and make it less effective, the o ring does give a better hold (secure in place] and does not deform for a long period of time even with several tire change.

Hi friend, appreciate your video. Would you mind help me? I Just bought some wheels and tyres on AliExpress for my hsp 1/10rc. Quality Is extremely good the tyre are soft and grippy the wheels premium material. The problem is that the wheels pops out the body, like the car has huge wheel spacers. I was so disappointed:-(

Hello, soft grippy tires usually use for touring or more like racing scenario, what do you mean ‘pops out of the body’ ? The entire wheel/tires fly out of the car (during speed run) that attached to wheel hex? I don’t have a HDP rc, doesn’t it used a standard 12 mm wheel hex? It the plastic hex too wide? there a few optional 12mm metal hex with different thickness online. If you mean rubber tires that separated from the rim during speed run, you have to glue the edge tires to the rim to secure it.

@@doubleclutching4411 oh, understood, there few option, mst , ds racing does have different off set wheels [as long the rubber tires measured 26mm), usually rims start with +3,6,7,8 and onward, the other option is replacing it with a 200mm wide body, most common tamiya body 190mm with +6 offset drift tires usually sticking out and will look awkward, I love to get the mst rocket bunny Supra or any Pandora Rc body with 200mm width will be the easiest way.
