This is so gorgeous, because this ship has a short S and a poitive (or is it negative, I am not shure) mirror and with a Gaff rig. Really original. You see and the 70's model ship in it and the old 1925 model in it. wow. This is a beauty!!
That is a lovely model . I make them , but not as big as yours . It aways pays to make a model as big as possible, they sail much better. When you see that hollow forming a midships in the water . It's a sign that it's reaching it's maximum speed :-)
What a beautiful model and well sailed, I hope mine turns out as well Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter.. are all the sheets RC or just proportioned to the main sail?

Does anyone know the name of the man who built this yacht? He was an RC yacht sailor from Sydney. He brought the boat into my workshop one day in the early 2000s . He said it was a Highlander A class that he converted. He has another video of a Highlander which is probably the same boat. He died of cancer a year or two later.
Lovely model! Too bad the sailset looks like bedsheets, with a set of proprly shaped sails she would perform much better and with RC controlled backstays you could also sail down wind more convincing. She needs better sails and sticktime! Regards, Jan.
