Wait, just remember that the system blue drums they used during outdoor didn't sound nearly as bad as this. They must have changed the heads and tuning. There's no way those are the same type of drum with the same head and tuning from the summer
I don't think the System Blue / Natal Drums sound very good. Pearl still sounds better to me than any other manufacturer in terms of a natural, whole-tone percussive quality, probably because of the free-floating snare design and details like their overbuilt lugs and what always seemed like a few extra plies on the bass drum rims. With these, i feel like they've taken the worst qualities of non-floating drums and put it in to all of the drums, making them sound very dry and taut, which I guess is in line with the traditional BD/RCC drum sound.
Glad I didnt watch this 2 years ago .... I hope they cleaned things up and got someone new to pick the costumes.... This was just dirty all the way around.
This comment section is so toxic. I really couldn’t fathom being ignorant and blindly “masculine” enough to screech gay hate speech at a group of guys wearing the color pink.
I really do not get the direction corp is going in to. I mean the beats were clean but if I was still in high school there would be no way you could get me in that uniform or do those dance moves. I am not saying it is not hard to do but it is hard to convince me that this is cool. That's why I tolerated being being called a band geek because playing the drums is cool. But this....IDK man tbh it looks dorky, and this is coming from a former band geek...like playing the drums is cool, and this is a general comment directed at drum corp. over the past few years...I do not see the appeal any more.
This is not a drum corps, wgi is based more around theatrical performance, hence the “stupid dances and outfits” oldheads seem so weirded out by. Hope you’ve learned over the 4 years since this comment came out :D
