I ordered these for my mobula7 elrs to replace the 0802 20,000kv. I got the 25,000kv. I'm prepping hard for IGOW this year. New goggles, sky04x with better dvr than my 5yr old fatsharts. 2 meteor85 2s, and 2 75mm 1s whoops. I'm thinking about a 65mm whoop, but I just...don't like them.

These would be best used on a 75mm with some ducts to protect, in my opinion. The biggest issue with these is availability and price. But if you throw these on a 65mm, the issue would likely also be weight. 65mm should be as light as possible.

What do you think is more important for durability: 1.5mm shafts or one piece bells?

Good question! Personally, I'd say the one piece bell. I have split way more bells in my time flying than I have bent motor shafts. But that's just me!
@Okahui
@Okahui Год назад
does dual ball bearing mean anything?
@InfinityLoops
@InfinityLoops Год назад
Yes. Instead of using brass bushings, these motors use ball bearings. The advantages of the ball bearings are enhanced cooling and a longer lifetime. This is not something I have tried until failure though, so I can't personally speak to the longevity of them.

Nice review heads. But I think you forgot something very important. The lifespan of the motors. Which could actually be higher here (to be checked in the future). Isn't lifespan the main reason for ball bearings instead of bushings? (for me it is). And if they only last 1/3 longer, would they be worth the extra charge for sure, wouldn't they? That's why I think it's a pity that you're a little hasty in judging here. Of course you have no obligation (but maybe certain responsibility) to review like this. But I would be happy if you and other big reviewers also include eventualities in the video that you may not be able to judge yourself, but which are important for the formation of opinions of the people. I think reviewers (or also called influencer) have a certain responsibility, don't they? And why is it so much about money? We all have more than enough money. We never get better quality if everyone always wants the cheapest 😕 But enough whining. I hope you take it as constructive criticism. That's what it's meant to be. On the positive side: Very nice thumbnail! And I think it's great how you now mention some details (e.g. the 1mm shaft and other things) that are important to many. Thank you for that! To the feeling of the ball bearings: I find I can feel the ball bearings in the throttle control. They feel very similar to the 1002 motors in terms of throttle control/smothness. And if they only had three struts on the bell like I recommended to rcinpower they might be about as light as the EX802. But unfortunately rcinpower didn't implement that. For my part, however, I will be looking forward to the future regarding the life span of the rcinpower 802 double ball bearing motors. Would be cool if you then bring that to the people if it should be the case that these motors really last longer. I wish you happy holidays! Happy whopping!
@InfinityLoops
@InfinityLoops Год назад
I understand the reason they added the bearings is supposed to be for cooling/lifespan, something I can't test accurately myself. So I go off of the flight characteristics and price, things I can speak to. Saying "a motor will last longer because of bearings" isn't exactly true anyways, on paper sure, but these micro motors get smashed and bashed around a ton and motors die sometimes. So, I am more interested in how they fly and how much I need to spend every time I break one, I don't get this stuff for free or discounted. I have no responsibility as a reviewer of a product that I paid for. I am simply a consumer that likes to fly, make videos and give my two cents to those who want it. The statement "we all have more than enough money" is verifiably false. I get A TON of messages and comments about the price of products. Also, it matters to me. Some of us fly micros because they are more affordable. I appreciate your feedback and I hope you can appreciate my reasoning. Happy Holidays to you and yours, my friend.
@butterflyfpv
@butterflyfpv Год назад
@@InfinityLoops Thank you for your response. I really appreciate your response! Many reviewers do not take the time to do this. I understand your reasoning. But I still have to say and ask something about it: When I see the wall of some youtuber full of drones then I think my statement is pretty correct that most of us have more than enough money (to pursue this hobby) 😂The only question is how we spend it. I can only speak for myself. But I would rather have better quality and performance for more money. And rather fewer quads but better ones. Preferably even just one who is super crazy. But that's just me. I'm all about flying. Maybe I'm just a loner who thinks a little weird. I even think that's probably the case. I'm starting to think that in the future most FPV pilots will continue to judge motors (and whole whoops etc.) by color, appearance and price. Or what do you think? Will it ever change that the majority thinks like this? What would you prefer? Lots of motors of different sometimes unknown quality in different colors, shapes at cheap prices? Or would it also be ok for you to have just one motor that has been proven to perform extremely well? But is very expensive. What would you prefer? (Not only with the motors, also with Lipos, frames etc.)
@InfinityLoops
@InfinityLoops Год назад
@@butterflyfpv When you see the wall of some youtuber, you should consider many micro fpv pilots don't make content, they watch it. They watch reviews so they don't blindly spend money on things. If they all had plenty of money, they wouldn't watch reviews, they'd just buy it. I make these videos here because I want to, not for any company or business. So when I give my opinion, it is just that, my opinion. Not influenced by anything else. I judge products by flight feeling and price, things I can feel and see. Those are my selling points, yours may be different which is fine. I will likely not see the potential longevity of these motors because I smash my stuff a ton. I don't think I have ever had a motor die from natural causes. Always after a epic crash or dropped magnet or bent shaft. As for the future, I believe a lot of products are judged by price, and will always be by some people. If a pilot wants to judge a product by the appearance or color why does it matter? I don't judge things by color or catchphrases by companies. Actually, I usually go out of my way to make fun of stupid sale pitches like t-motors "fly like a 5inch" 0802s, or the colors of the Hypetrain BB motors. Just to name some recent ones.
@butterflyfpv
@butterflyfpv Год назад
@@InfinityLoops Ok I see. I think in the end it's just a different mindset. But don't get me wrong. I think many of your videos are great. And you inspired me too. Regarding the colors: When we give so much importance to the appearance of a product (which we don't even see in flight) then sometimes the technical progress simply suffers. And since performance is the most important thing for me and a few other pilots, we feel a bit slowed down in terms of technical progress. But I think that's just the way it is. Anyway, thank you for your videos. I wish you lots of cool indoor whoop rips this winter. See ya. Whoop whoop!🥳
@chrisbee5481
@chrisbee5481 Год назад
I though the only reason to get these, are the ball bearings and durability. So you really feel the 0.15g more per motor?
@InfinityLoops
@InfinityLoops Год назад
Not sure if it's the weight I'm feeling or the difference from running bushing vs bearings. I fly this build everyday, so I'd expect to notice slight differences here and there. I noticed I'm a bit harder on the throttle with these motors over my usual.
@butterflyfpv
@butterflyfpv Год назад
Thats a total of 0.6g. Yes as a good or pro pilot you can feel it. (I can feel it on a sub 22g build). But I also feel a very smooth throttle. And as you said the lifespan is the main argument for these engines from my point of view.

If you are looking for dual ball bearing 0802s, these are your motors. If you're looking for affordable motors, maybe consider looking elsewhere. That should be the takeaway. I don't care much about the ball bearings, not a noticeable improvement to me, so not worth the extra coin, IMO. I didn't try the other KV because I wanted to give them away to someone in one piece. If I flew them, I'd have to cut the plugs off ☹️
@bluebomber81
@bluebomber81 Год назад
I recently tried their 1002s and they're great. They immediately felt better to me but I think the added weight just suited my preference. But, I'm new to this yet and I think part of that was it took some of the twitchiness out of the flying. Or, maybe I try a couple of other motors and still come back to these cause I really have been enjoying them. The colors are great. Prefer the pink and teal, but am glad the oranges on these aren't painted like the 1002s are. These look better to me. And I don't feel I was losing that much in flight time over the much lighter HM 0802s. But I'm only doing line of sight until I can grab some goggles. With no cam and a 520 mah battery I can keep it up for at least six minutes. giggity. 660mah goes close to 8 mins. Even longer when I bring batteries up to 4.35 but I stopped cause I'm well happy with the flight times without. So long as they're reasonably durable, their motors are a win for me. 👍
