The primal form of Goku is based heavily on Son Wukong, who has the ability to instantly share knowledge with people, hence why Vegeta could use the Kamehameha
It also makes sense when Goku's fire came out of his mouth and wrapped around Vegeta's arm right before they did the Kamehameha. That's probably when the knowledge sharing happened.
insane how the creator spent 4 years of his life on this it deserves the hype fr and i hope he gets a job outta this fr or hella bread. MY DAWG NEEDA EAT FR
You can tell the creator understood Vegeta on a deep level. He's always been about the pride of the saiyans, his personality in Z is due to an inferiority complex from Frieza making him a lap dog after blowing up his race. He has no reason to hate Goku or act undignified in this timeline.
The speech was so brief but so freaking powerful. He was such a g in this. I never watched DBZ like that but this Vegeta portrayal is goat level character. He was so cool
This is a series I would binge watch, in a day. That art style, their take on transformations, the shine they gave Vegeta, and the reconnection to story dragonball was based off of…I needed that. This was refreshing to watch.
They really spent 4 years on this knowing they’d make no money from it, just enjoyment of their sheer love of the dragon ball franchise. Some true legends FR.
If I knew how to do this animation I would it too. For free too. I think I could even do better because animes my shit, but alas my work passion is baking. But great job nonetheless.
@@layzy24 are that much of a dumbass? do you really think you can make a weekly shounen anime with a tigh schedule on your own without any help? Do i have to mention that you won't only have to animate but to do sound engineering, storyboard the episodes and arc and do multiple things to allow the pre production to be good. You have to be retarted af to think that you will be able to pull out a show on your own. You clearly have no idea how the industry works pal
For anyone confused The film is a original take / mish mash of what we love from Dragon Ball. Goku's whole ghost rider thing was actually him turning into Son Wukong (Who Goku is based off of hence the monkey look) Vegeta knew the Kamehameha cuz in the actual Son Wukong story... He could share powers and techniques by touching wrists. (Peep how before the final blast Vegeta got Super Saiyan back and instantly knew to use Goku's move) Lastly peep the audience... Saitama... Akuma... Akira Toriyama and a few others make a cameo.
Glad someone else picked up on it! A lot of hidden Easter eggs and nods to other anime were in this. -When broly transformed it gave STRONG Kill La Kill vibes. -Akuma and Toriyama made cameos - at the end was a nod to Cowboy Bebop with the "See you with whatever we have next" same font style and placementm
without budget it took them 4 years. imagine what these guys could do with millions of dollars and a couple months to a year? might be a whole damn movie xD
No. It's not the budget that allows the animation to be better, it's actually time and scheduling. The reason of why this fan animation looks so good is because he has been working on it throughout 4 years without being stressed by a company. The reason of why Super's art or Z's art was inconsistent is due to it's awful weekly shounen episode schedule and having a terrible pre production, even with money the pre production was a disaster at the beginning due to the schedule.
@@chuviis3508 Glad you said this. It reminds me of Redline. It took a crazy amount of time yet everything in that movie is this quality of not better. Also like Aaron McGruder's The Boondocks. These great things take time. Cannot be rushed.
@@TheoCynical if I'm not mistaken it took them 8 years to do redline. That movie is so damn good, it's very similar to dead leaves, both are great movies
@@chuviis3508 Yes but with money they can dedicate their all to it. They don't have to worry about working normal jobs as well as potential schooling and other things. Why assume they'd instantly lose passion once they're paid?
@@ddl3718lmao no, toei had like millions and millions of money but they only gave super a production of 2 months and yet it looked awful despite having the money. Money does not equal quality when it comes to animating. Its time.
@@zinoononeme5345 True, but they could do it more imo. They went from fantasy to sci-fi from DB to DBZ. Which is cool but I also like the other route too.
@@ashborn2731 Yea like rebrianne power of love and tons of random characters. Only thing that was not a disgrace was ultra instinct. And no Super is not overhated in fact its over loved.
Just the fact that the guy and his team poured 4 years of work into this with zero desire to be paid for any of it was enough for me to respect them, but they went above and beyond on the animation too! It's incredible how they weaved in all the references to the original Dragonball, DBZ, and even other anime together with an original story. Just imagine... since Vegeta's father is alive, it means Frieza did not destroy Planet Vegeta yet- so Bardock and Gine could still be alive and Goku could meet his Saiyan parents! Imagine the insanity of an entire planet of Saiyans versus Frieza's forces.
I’m guessing that, in this universe, somehow, they were able to push back Frieza’s forces until later, allowing the saiyans to bring vegeta up as a king, find Broly, and leave Goku on earth for longer. Now they have to take on Frieza, but this one has to be more powerful than the one from the planet Namek arc. It also seems the legend behind super saiyans is different, with Goku having to learn how to “control” his light. Super interesting and great animation!
Sun wukon is not only an amazing story (journey to the west is the title) but it was turned into a hit Japanese old school flick that still runs to this day.
@@AWSOMzombie sun wukong, the sage equal to heaven, was the monkey king in the story journey to the west from china. One of the first truly op characters, being 120x immortal and being able to lift the earth itself as some of his simpler feats. He's the inspiration for goku, and thus many other shonen protagonists.
Honestly this was so good it would be dope to see the actual first “extended universe/multiverse” series of dragon ball basically how dc and marvel have an excuse for creating more storylines bc of diff authors/artist creating a new ver even of events if they would get that green light it would be amazing
Big Monkey King energy. The animators really leaned into that legend for this, down to the fighting sequencing. Loooved this. Voice actors did their thing too. Whole team 🤯👏🏾🤯👏🏾
The premise of their being a golden race of saiyans is really interesting, with this they can introduce a lot of other saiyans with different golden transformations. goku has that golden monkey form, Vegeta has Super saiyan or basically golden saiyan. Man this is gonna be good
Fun fact: In the original novel dragonball is based on, Son Wukong, the Monkey King, can transfer his skills and knowledge to those around him. When they do a shared kamehameha you can see Goku transferring power and knowledge to Vegeta so that they can work together.
I would put money behind this shit foreal. This year alone has constantly reminded me why Bleach and Dragonball will always remain as my top 3 series of all time. Dragonball super might not be the best written in certain aspect but its giving the fans a lot of what they want which is dope transformations, new and interesting characters and more sayian lore. I hope they continue this Legend A Dragonball tale because im pretty sure the fans will get behind this 100%.
4:18 Leland, you are correct, however this specific battle happened after Yamcha had already started training with Roshi and adapted the gi into his normal training/Fighting attire. Quite a few details are switched up for this animation, however. For example: Vegeta has gone SSJ before even meeting Goku. Broly shows up. Goku still has a tail (he had just gotten rid of it permanently after training with Kami in the original).
this shit is so beautiful man. i hope him & his team gets paid massive for their work in the future. it’s seriously amazing how fan made animations can be this good & bring this much hype. i could literally watch a whole series & movie from this LMAO
I'm so glad RDC reacted to this. Legend needs more exposure, it is actually amazing. It's everything I love about Dragon Ball and animation as a whole wrapped beautifully with such care.
over 9000 respect to yall for playing the full video and putting the link to the original video as the first hyperlink in yoour description. ive seen so many react videos and people dont play it all the way through AND they dont even drop the OG link. the disrespect is real
I wouldn't mind them making a separate dragon ball series where this is located in a different universe. But with the same characters. I really enjoyed it.
That was some amazing boxing. The hand to hand game was insanely sick before the animation flex took over. Everything was supreme! I need some mystic gohan vs cell type shit in this animation style ASAP! lmfao
That animation went hard af especially how Goku got more of a Wukong design when he went ssj and how he added "The Heavenly Saviour" tidbit thx RDC yall be on point with theses videos man good work
This was so fire I'd love to see y'all react to this fan series called "Afro Samurai champloo" I'm sure y'all can guess what's it's about but it's live action and them boys snapped y'all won't be disappointed!!
this animation style gave me major kill a kill vibes. especially at 3:40 when vegeta makes his entrance i got hit with nostalgia that reminded me of late nights of adult swim. would 100% tune in if this was an actual show
@@durtydean8430 yeah I understand now, but it’s not really bad listening to other people’s ideas, and maybe there’s gonna be a corporation that does but idk.
For those that wanna know, Goku's transformation here was based off Son Wukong from Journey to the West. Son Wukong was the Monkey king, and Goku was based on him.
This is one of the best fan animations ive ever seen. Not only the new forms and different story line that looks so goof but dragon ball in the animation of something like kill la kill is too goated.
The way this group puts so much entertainment in their vids and never misses really motivates me to try RU-vid ! You can tell they always plans to deliver quality content. They are so consistent with videos too. If I keep that mindset, I may be able to blow up someday too! Ima keep grinding with these RU-vid shorts and hopefully get to that level someday!
The reason Vegeta knows Kamehameha is because Son Wukong, whom Goku is based off of, had the ability to transfer techniques to other people telepathically via touching their wrist. We see Vegeta prompt him to do just that and you can see some of Goku’s Chi transfers over just before they attack. It’s really an amazing level of attention to detail, not only from the Dragon Ball verse, but the real world mythology too. Just goes to show how much love was put into this animation.
Honestly journey to the west is something that interests me a lot, but at the same time I can't be bothered to read which is why Goku's transformation put a huge smile on my face. I will say however, it is always interesting to learn what Sun Wukong can do and how it ties into this. I had no idea he could share Knowledge and abilities I think.
🧢 also there are short db animations that look bazillions of times better than this and yku have to be capping if u think this is better than super broly which took also 4 years to produce lmao.
DB Deliverance has similar tier of animation. I want to say Stray Dog Animation Studio also worked on it but I know DB Deliverance had multiple studios working on it.
@@khaledm.1476 DragonBall Delievrance is one. Mellavelli's DragonBall Absalon is another. Note he (Mellavelli) has made multiple episodes with that one. The animation style is different but so good. 👌
