Out of every game I have played, RDR2 is still the most impressive graphically. No other game comes remotely close to environment immersion. It’s still the benchmark and likely will be for quite some time.
@@user-su5jg7cg9xleaps ahead lol.. Horizon forbidden west literally look like some crappy cartoon shit not even close to realism 😂 You must be really underage to even think that😂
I'm on Chapter VI of my first run through on a brand new high end rig, and I have spent a lot of play time just exploring, admiring the sheer beauty of this game. It's not just a game, it's a work of art. I will be so ready for RDR3!
@@techlyf3597 Gonna be a long wait still for sure, GTA sucking up the oxygen for now, but they won't turn their backs on a cash cow. 55+ million copies sold. Even with the game price declining as it ages, that's well over $2 billion.
Ha dude I literally ride my horse back and forth all over just to see the water and scenery, I don't actually play the game lol I just look at how beautiful everything is and now these new mods make it real life its scary
Haha same. Every time I _do_ uninstall RDR2 - while stupidly thinking to myself, "I've seen everything" - I inevitably install it again after a few hours! And of course when I boot it up, I immediately encounter something new that I've never seen! Absolute masterpiece man! 💙🙏🏼💙
1:51 ❤ Man I love when games did rain weather a justice. Here the rain weather is phenomenal, the darkness, the ambience, the diffused godrays and lighting. I enjoys rainy and forcast weather a lot both in games and irl. Hope GTA 6 also add the winds along with thunderstorm.
The most meditative experience for me is North of Valentine, those mountains… or even on a mountain near the oasis in West Elizabeth… this game truly is aesthetically divine
I always like the Emerald ranch area. It has a farm with cattle and people doing stuff, not to crowded. Its near water and train tracks, but also a vast open area surrounding it to chill and ride your horse just for fun, with the blue sky and grass to take in. The immersion is real.
I spoiled myself and got a 4070. With a few nividea control panel chenges Im finally playing this game the way I wanted. Its a curse though. I spend so much time just meandering along in awe at the skill poured into this game.
@@jaro14k1nah.. Rdr2 is already so advanced and still look better than most for he current games..we need gta-6 cuz gta-5 is kinda look outdated now.
No other game has reached this level hence why I can’t stop playing this game ,not so much the storyline because we know what happens but side missions and hunting gathering all hidden items and much much more.
Finally got this game 3 days ago, runnin it buttery smooth in native 1440p High/Ultra...It looks really good for such a quite old and big game from 2018, cant wait for the visual prn in GTA 6 lol
@@timmyloud I run it with stable 60+ fps (v-sync) even in worst scenarios with 5600x + 6700xt all day long...really good game, looks really fantastic...Nearly 70 fps in worst case and around 80 fps on average with a balanced mix of High/Ultra
Stunning gameplay graphics, I have not had the opportunity to play RDR because I was really stuck on Battlefield 2 thru 5. but I will be able to do it soon I hope.
"His wet fur coat glistened in the San Denis snow, as the crickets surrounding the lane continued happily chirping away," is a line which provides us with several reasons why modders don't write. Writers are constrained only by our imagination - and reality.
Gonna be 6 years on since this game came out soon and it's still the most graphically beautiful game I've ever played. With a couple mods, it still competes with new AAA games.
@@KisnowarFirst of all I said "it's still the most graphically beautiful game **I'VE** ever played". Secondly, A game can be graphically beautiful and not have the best/most realistic looking graphics out there. For example: The Long Dark, where the graphics are much more artistic as opposed to realistic but its still a beautiful looking game. Cyberpunk does have better graphics than RDR2 but with some mods, that gap gets smaller. that being said, RDR2 is still a better looking game overall imo, do to the environment, the world, details, etc...
This games art is so incredible it manages to punch faaaar above what is it's technical height, rivalling modern games that use ray traced global illumination, if Rockstar ever released a next gen version of RDR2 and it featured RTGI and the ability to crank the grass/foliage density a bit, the game will be unmatched for YEARS, it already kinda is even without next gen features like RT :O
Its art direction is inspired by early American landscape artists, I wish other games picked a definitive style and didn't just pursue generic, lifeless photorealism.
@@crestofhonor2349 The technical paper claims the only baked data per probe is position and occlusion. The GI's obviously not updating per frame like with RTGI, or even every few frames, but alas it is still dynamic. An artist prescribed lookup table is responsible for the changing sky colours with time, eg. sunrise and sunset.
@@ttghhgg1918 It's not doing anything special with that. Pretty much ever other modern game engine did that at the time. The difference is the way they used them
Of all the many games I have played over the years this is by far my most favorite. It's simply an adventure of story and brilliance and I cannot wait to see if they make an RDR4 when GTA 6 has been rolled out.
This is the only game where I actually "feel" the atmosphere in my bones. I can smell the rain and feel the biting wind, the chilly night, and every goddamn thing. They nailed the atmosphere to a T and went beyond that. I don't see this being topped anytime soon.
I think the fact that they pulled off a simulation of the real world this spectacularly is what really has blown everyone away. No over the top fantasy magic stuff to hide behind. Just a whole other level of detail and realism. Its going to be a long time before this game is matched. even though it's from the previous generation of gaming. The game proves that artistry and attention to detail outweigh frames per second or any of that technical stuff.
My personal top 5 graphical benchmarks are Quake, Crysis, Metal Gear Solid 4, Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2. They really raised the bar in their own special way.
For a 2018 game the combination of graphics, details, physics, map size and density, story etc…are absolutely revolutionary still to this day I can’t find a better game. Rockstar is a role model for game devs. Quality over quantity for me all day every day. A game developer once told me that rdr2 and rockstar games in general are known for their story and not the graphics cause they are not that good. Bro obviously hasn’t played the game for himself yet lmao. Bro also said that God of war graphics are better. Pff yeah right, tell me another game where the characters pupils grow and shrink based on the brightness and horse balls based on the temperature lmfaooo like wth😂💀
I notice the color palette of RDR2 often makes landscapes look like an Albert Bierstadt painting when conditions are right. Makes sense considering the time period this game takes place. Nature scenes look more luminous and exaggerated between lights and darks than real life or an unedited photo would look
Funny you say that because the early American landscape artists were Rockstar's primary inspiration for the art direction of this game. The devs made use of a lookup table that changes sky colour and atmospheric scattering based of the time of day
Everything in this👏🥶 game is next gen the weather system and clouds, environment, those breathing taking scenes, NPCs interaction or AI systems, this is BOAT
Wow beautiful atmospheric conditions, when it rains and the sun is partially shining, also the wind, I could live there I don't care if it is a simulation as long as it's beautiful and varied send me in!
Brought to you by the blood, sweat, and tears of human artists, programmers, engineers, designers, etc that were burned out and ground down over many many years. Thanks folks!
You don't need to have brand new or the most expensive hardware. I have an ancient PC and it still runs most games just fine. I also have a second hand laptop that runs any game at max settings perfectly with ray tracing aswell. A few hundred quid can get you great hardware. Or you could just buy a console.
i just wish they would of put a tornado in the game didnt need to be anything crazy but i think it could of been part of a mission even and changed some of the games landscape idk
