The first song I heard in voice of Ustad Rashid Khan Sahab is "Aaoge jab tum saajna" from Jab We Met. I wondered who is singing, his voice is soul wrenching, then I searched him for some of his more works... Since that time I am fan of Ustan ji, Great voice, great artist.
Ustadji's voice brings so much peace to the mind. Just enjoy the performance and listen to how beautiful his rendition is. Please don't post any hatred or negativity. Spread the love around! Hatred doesn't make anyone look good inside and out. It only creates more violence. Just spread the love to keep the peace no matter how hard it is. Ustadji's voice will bring the peace if you listen with full concentration. Just putting it out there.
Ustad Rashid Khan is a great singer/performer. I listen to this Raag every day, all day sometimes and never get enough of it. Unfortunately when Ustadji came to my town in the US, he had fever and the show was a dissappointment. I have enjoyed him immensely otherwise, his CDs and tubes.
Awesome! Absolutely awesome! Sings with such ease, so melodious…. Keeps one enthralled throughout his rendition!!! He has expertise, talent , melody, a sweetness in his singing that lures the listener to his music again and again……..

Nice presentation.As far my knowledge goes; great Ustad Ameerkhan sung this popular south Indian raga in North Indian style. I heard this raga in initial stage while he was developing it.It is pentatonic raga of major scale in which third and sixth notes are absent.

He has developed his own style; there is touching sweetness in his singing!! He has made rather created very evening mood of the Raga perfectly no doubt he has his own style.Wonderful experience!!
i wd like to make a correction ,as i hv learnt :it is anjana phaban te,which means the kajal is beautifying the eyes.also in the last line,it is amar ho nit pati kaaj sajan,which means may the lord immortalise the husband's endeaveours
