Hindsight is always 20/20. This is a shoulda, coulda, woulda video. Who could have guessed that Cameron Brink would tear an ACL? The problem with the statistics is that some of the players chosen are simply not getting enough minutes to show what they're really capable of. Personally, I believe that it's too early to be talking about a re-draft. I would wait three years to give players a chance to adapt to the WNBA before doing a re-draft.
After seeing how rail thin she is, in a league that loves to foul, loves "physicality", that is injury prone because of these loves. I think people fell in love with her story line, and overlooked how impractical her body-type is for this league.

Fever defence 11th in Pts given up and can argue pace of play but also 9th in opponent fg% as opponents are shooting 44% from floor and 34% from 3pt range. Efg% 50.70 4th worst (only Dallas, Washington, LA worse), points per play .96 (3 way tie for worst with Indiana , Dallas & LA). But they foul as well 11th in giving up FTA. PTS off TOs they are 11th. Clark is put on opponents weakest perimeter player & she plays on a bad defensive team so yes I don't think she is good on defence. Chicago is 5th best in ppp at .88 , as well they are holding opponents to efg% of 48.30% 4th best in WNBA. So yes , I think Reese is better defense player as she is a part of a good defence.

The best player and most talented player easily was Rickea Jackson. She can play all 5 positions, handle the ball, score inside and outside, and she can defend. LA has a coach who is clueless how to use the talent on his roster.

Yeah the one issue I have w the bird/magic comparison with angel and Caitlin is they are in the same conference. Angel in LA would have been great and fits with her Barbie image but I think Chicago is a good fit for her

My one proviso about Caitlin Clark and the turnovers is there should be a stat for teammates that drop the ball when it hits them in the hands. At least half of her TO's are good passes to bad teammates.

No doubt she's a great rebounder for a guard and I think people don't give her help defense enough credit as that's where most of her steals and blocks come from. I think when people say she's terrible on defense they are really talking about on-ball defense. She's not good at that. She's also terrible at dealing with screens (goes over when she should go under and vice versa). So I'd qualify her defensive problems as mainly being on-ball defense and too often losing track of her man, while she's not as bad in other aspects of defense. She has gotten better, but she has a long way to go when it comes to at least slowing down whoever she's guarding.
I told people if the draft was today ALL 12 teams will pick CLARK TODAY 1st overall but the delusional ones think Reese is better for a team over PG Clark
I am sick and tired of people, saying Clark can't play defense, have you actually watched her play? Granted, not Dennis Rodman, but when they need a stop, she delivers I mean she's got three times as many blocks as Angel Reese. Where do you get that Clark is averaging 3x as many blocks as Reese? Clark averages .8 blocks, Reese .4 blocks according to WNBA stats. I think Clark has gotten better on defense but can still be a defensive liability and her steals, for example, are more opportunistic rather than being able to lock a player down and take the ball like some of the other guard defenders (especially the better ones) can do to her.

No way Brink falls to 6. She probably goes at 3 to the Sky because of her defense. This is Brink's first serious injury to my knowledge. She's had some minor ones so I wouldn't let that impact where I'd pick her that much.
I disgree, Howard over Edwards and Brink over Reese. Sparks actually were winning when Brink was healthy, since theyve tanked. Sky not really that good with or w/o Reese. 🤷🏽♂️
It would be best if you were more educated in what basketball skills and performance are. Clark is a complete player. Good ball handling, a great court view, a good passer, an all-the-court shooter, good defense with more blocks than Reese, and a good rebounder too. She can play at half-court or at full speed. She is a complete player. With all of Reese's double-doubles, Clark has more points and assists. So Reese is a rebounder. In reality, she is more than a rebounder. She is a great player but the numbers and statistics make a great difference between both players.
LeBron James, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Steph Curry -great players with high turnovers. Probably because they are very active and other teams double guard them .
I think that given what Angel accomplished in college she deserved to ne drafted at 2 but when you got connections what you achieved doesn't matter that sports and politics. Then you had people poisoning the girl to weak GM who don't know how to thibk for themselves. I was pissed when she didn't go 2 because she I she deserved to be a high draft pick. I didn't watch afyervthevsrcond pick. These first 6 drafts picks no matter how cute their jump shots didn't bring better statistics. And only Cameron had note worthy defensive stats. However 7 happened to be licky for Reese, right team, right scene and gonna produce the right dream, a championship.
The girl can't shoot. They needed someone who can help the offense open up, and who draws double team. They went with a player who made sense to their needs.

Their value is realized in other areas of the game. Angel's value lies in her ability to score in the paint and do the hard hat work of rebs. Getting more possessions for her team or simply putting it back up for a basket of her own.
The Wings have 3 players at Edwards position better than her (Satou, Natasha & Maddy) and 0 Point Guards better than Jacy. They made the right pick. They have just had horrible injury luck this season. No need to make a short sighted decision.

Interesting take about Brink and future injury risk. I actually think injuries could be a potential pitfall for Paige when she is in the WNBA -- it is rough and tumble.
The injuries that happen to Cameron and Paige could happen to any player. ACL tears can happen if you move the wrong way. Women are more susceptible to ACL tears.

Azzi is injury prone, no one will draft her, Paige might find her stock not doing well also, major injuries like an ACL will keep teams away. Paige might be drafted 5th or 6th at best.
