These guys single handedly make Boston one of the most exciting, fun, and inviting places to skate. I've run into a handful of them around town and they are some of the nicest people. I'm so happy to be apart of a skate scene that is really pushing the boundaries of art and skateboarding together.

I love Fancy Lad, and Big is just a top bloke, a proper geezer, diamond and a ledge as we say where I'm from. Just the fact he named his company "lads" makes them feel relatable to my British ears. They are a little slice of 90's/00's sanity in this 20's era of overly sanitised, processed, mass produced bunkum.

I remember about 10 years ago I found their phone number on their website or somewhere and called them. They were super cool, friendly, and intelligent. I talked to them on the phone for hours a couple times about art, and how it relates to skating. They had a lot of inspiring and thought provoking ideas. I'm always super excited when I see them do something new.

massachusetts sucks for skating. growing up here we had to be mad creative, because it's all street skating. we started getting those prefab parks in the early 00s, but most of them were trash, and put together badly. the only one i can remember having vert was scituate. if you skated, it was mostly ledges, stairs, and rails. skater's island was the closest park to us that was actually good.
