This is such a good video, I'm glad to have it re-uploaded. There have been so many documentaries and lectures by 'experts' trying to analyze what made BTS so popular, yet they barely mention the most important factors of all: music, lyrics, message and authenticity. The quality of the art. Ask almost any fan and they'll tell you that's the most important thing. Yes their dance is amazingly impressive, their music videos are captivating, they wear flashy outfits, and they post a lot on social media. These are important factors which play a role in catching people's attention and drawing them in. But the same could be said for many other artists in the current landscape, so why aren't all those artists as popular as BTS? What is it about BTS that takes a casual 'fan' who's curious about a trending song or an impressive synchronised dance, and transforms them into a loyal lifelong 'ARMY' who will be motivated to work hard to support the group, spread the word, and sustain the fan community? The answer is the quality of the music, the meaning of the lyrics, and the way the group embodies those messages through their personalities, interactions, and passionate performances. Seokjin once described their appeal as like a finely baked cake covered in fancy decorations. The decorations are fun and they catch your eye, but you could take all the decorations away, and you would still have a delicious cake. It amazes me that after all this time, all these experts are still so entranced by a layer of confectioners sugar that they miss the cake underneath. Meanwhile, ARMYs are eating well!

I have alot of respect for Bang Si Hyuk. He had the vision and enough grit and determination to believe in and suport a group of "messy boys". To get himsrlf deeper and deeper in debt to allow them the space to evolve. Normally when you gamble everything you want to exert complete control. His belief and gamble paid off. When it was normal within KPOP to turn talent into performers only with the company controlling every single decision. Bang PD acted more as collaborator and quality control. He allowed them to say no to songs je had written. He supported controversial songs. Whilst he made hard nosed business decisions. In hisbown way he was yhe 8thember of BTS. Fans somehimes forget how important Bang PD was to the success of BTS.

WaWaWa - how impressive. The more I learn about BTS, the more deeply I appreciate them. I am 75 years old, Australian, - so not in the demographics for Fans but am ARMY too, despite never having an interest in pop music ( classical was my preference from the age of 15). However, the degree of excellence I experienced in the first MV of BTS (Dynamite) blew me away and I have passionately followed them ever since. Listening to Bang Si-hyuk today put everything into perspective and explained in greater depth, why my experience of their true excellence touched me so deeply when I first watched and listened to them.

So happy to have found this video. I’m fascinated by Bang Si-hyuk and how he formed and charted into history the phenomenon that is BTS today. I absolutely enjoyed watching this video and listening to this man who was instrumental in creating a group who will go down in history as legends, not just for their talent but also for forming this great bond with army, constantly reminding themselves that they were able to come this far because of the love and support of army. The fact that they remained so humble throughout this rollercoaster of success, retaining their beautiful relationship with their loved ones is encouraging. When one sees other groups admiring them and showing gratitude for BTS support and encouragement towards them, one can only be proud to be supporters of these men. They demonstrated that you can reach success through hard work and sacrifices. Also they are not jealous of others success.
