I am a 62 year old ARMY from Canada and nothing has affected me more than BTS. I have seen all the greats in concert over the years...The Beatles, Prince, Michael Jackson and Queen just to name a few, but BTS has hit me harder than any of them. Their powerfully positive messages and their incredible connection to their fans, through vlogs and tons of other content, put them on a whole other level. The amount of charity work that ARMY does on behalf of BTS gives me so much hope for a better world for future generations.
I’m over 65 yrs. old and I’ve been following BTS since the first time I saw them on Billboard awards on 2018. They’ve been my obsession since then and I don’t care if everyone makes fun of me. They make me happy.
I am jealous that you saw The Beatles and Queen first hand! The concerts must have had so much energy! I am so happy that another artist gives you such a feeling! That good material is not just in the pst buy happening and will continue!
I relate to your feelings so much. I didn’t get to see ALL of those artist in person and I turn 60 this summer but our heart stories are the same exactly! No artist, including my favorites, have moved my heart as much as BTS and ARMY too. I know I will be ARMY till the end of my days and will support and care about our men no matter where life leads them. That goes for ARMY too! Love you all!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜+💜
A few thing that I would like to point out is that: 1) BTS did not became famous because of RU-vid. Instead, they build relationships with ARMY through platforms such as Twitter, Soundcloud, and RU-vid. Twitter is where they communicate. RU-vid is where they recorded their thoughts (and of course-music videos-official), and Soundcloud is where they put out their music(that aren't official-in the sense that is free). 2) BTS did not became famous overnight. They have been famous for a while all over the world, if not in Korean. Many Korean does not know BTS because of prejudice. Many only know them now because BTS become too huge an artists that it had become harder for them to ignore. 3) ARMY does not just stand for as a fandom to protect BTS. If that was the case, no body will know the name of BTS's fandom. Instead, A.R.M.Y stand for Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. Just like what the name stand for ARMY have been not only protecting BTS but also those who are vulnerable in society. Many good deeds are done by ARMY in the name of BTS. That is why ARMY are not just fans. They are a society in itself. 4) The purple color is not just a color that is made up to become a symbol. The meaning and significant of it is greater than comparing to some band/group's color. Most everyone know Purple associates with BTS and BTS associate with Purple. No body really know what group have what color. But everybody know BTS's purple.
They created their own shows to put on RU-vid because the Big 3 had them shut out of going to the other shows...So they paved their own way.....PS Justin Bieber was discovered on RU-vid....just saying
@@sandys1890 they created their own show on vlive and now Weverse 😂 RU-vid definitely did help but that’s not the only reason. What is this with the big 3 if you saying Justin did??? JUST SAYING please research
Also want to add that, yes they didn't have mainstream media but i think even with them using these other platforms what really set them apart or rather made their fandom grow is they tapped into the humane side and made people fall in love with them.Coz i think when someone loves you then they will always show up for you and i think Army's love for BTS is what trully propelled them
I love that comment alot because that is the reason y they are so different from other groups, BTS are not just some boys putting together and trained just to become a singer they actually got the talent and passion ... BTS forever 💜💜💜💜💜💜
If u really look then it's really true ,Suga and RM was an underground rapper with amazing talent +producer and writing quality, hobi was an underground dancet with amazing skills+catch every beat,jk was scouted by smth 7 companies ,jimin was an modern dancer ,v has an opera experience + visual ,jin an acting genius ,great in expressing emotions through eyes .and most importantly all have a passion for music.thats very rare ,they really finds gems.
I am ARMY, I love BTS. I am also 45 so not a young girl. The reason BTS resonated with me is that their music is one of the biggest motivators in my life. I suffered from depression and trauma from an abusive marriage. When nothing else was working, their music uplifted me, taught me to love myself and value myself again. Their social messages and the actual work they do to make the world a better place inspired me to better myself. They are just 7 young men who through their journey, communication with fans and sheer hard work, have inspired millions like me in all walks of life. During yesterday's delayed streaming of PTD day 3 in Seoul concert, ARMYs discussed their ages - youngest 11, oldest 100, every country was there. They have made me a part of a loving nurturing community. I have millions of friends around the world. I know K-pop may not be everyone's cup of tea but how can anyone dislike 7 of the finest young men who are only bringing fame and pride to their country and love and peace to the whole world? 💜💜💜💜💜
The truth is, we are Army because anyone who hurts them pays us, BTS received a lot of hatred from their nation just for not being part of the 3 big agencies, but now they are not They have us alone and we will protect them from anyone who tries to harm them, the Army is already tired of so much hatred !!!
i remember the time when a k-army translated in english a list of bad things that k-armys and BTS experience from haters in korea and upon knowing those bad things international army made a move of creating hashtags in korean language and trended it to show how big i-armys are. BTS were much loved by international fans than the locals at that time, but it was also a very moving and touching moment for me because i felt that we won the war. both koreans and international armys grew much closer and even gave each other a very endearing nicknames.... K-diamonds and I-lovelies 💜
There are millions of youtube creators and thousands of talented artists who are on youtube wanted to one day blow up and become famous. What sets BTS apart from all the rest is their personality. I understand that there are things they cannot show on camera but never did once I felt that they were faking their interactions with each other and with armys. They keep their vulnerability and their 'human' side (away from the usual perfect idol image) which makes them more relatable and likable to their audience.
I'm so tired of people thinking the fandom is carrying BTS like they did not have any talent of their own. We saw talent. We appreciated it. Cherrished it. Now it's your turn to show love to BTS not because you're afraid of the fandom but because they actually have done things that are unbelievable for the country and the industry. It's very easy to love them all you have to do is google. Jeesus
There are some people who act like BTS became world sensation overnight, without knowing their long struggling years, their immense hardwork and the gold mine of talent they have. It really pisses me of big time when people don't appreciate their past struggles and the steady rise and progression.
One day: there was a time when people just ignored BTS while they were walking around with bunch of outstanding talents. TODAY: Tables have turned they run a whole show just about BTS. My ARMY EGO🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝😎😎 EOTUKKHAE😭😭
"We will the ones who will protect BTS." That's a perfect interpretation~ Aside from coordinating with BTS's name (Bulletproof Boyscouts), ARMY is also an acronym that means Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth.
I hope you guys see this comment. The colour purple is not something that the fandom had been associated with since the very beginning. It was just a phrase that V made up during a concert’s end statement but the phrase left an ever lasting effect and slowly became the fandom’s substitute for “I love you”. The introduction goes as , "Do you know what purple means? Purple is the last color of the rainbow. Purple means I will trust and love you for a long time, "I just made it up." For armyies “I Purple you” means a lot. Even though it wasn’t invented intentionally but it does represent our love and loyalty for BTS and theirs for us. Purple became our fandom’s colour as well. Please search thoroughly next time when you want to convey some information about anyone especially someone like BTS, who have very passionate fans and they all know everything.
They become popular because of their hard work (ARMYs are just bonus). I've still remember how other k-variety shows disrespected them. But anw! they deserved on what and where they are now.
At the guy with the green shirt, sir bts WERE popular in korea back then, they achieved a lot and even the elderly loved them just bc u ignored them diesnt mean they werent doing well and they didnt blow up out of nowhere it took years if hardwork
When he's saying "Army is the one who protecting Bts" They should have put our Purple ribbon project in it. BTS were so happy at the project that even talk about it on every interview in America
Sad that he talks about BTS and their success but doesn't know the meaning behind why purple is significant, what ARMY stands for or the true reason they're successful- they're talented, humble and genuine. 🤔💜
Fr he claims to know about this stuff and is even giving a class about it, but doesn’t even know the basics [facepalm] like I know this people just like to talk about them for the views and ratings, but at least they can do some research
I can understand if he is new to this knowledge but he has to do some research. BTS values ARMY a lot so I think that should be the first in his research list. ALSO, the topic of his lecture here is the importance of fandom, but he didn't even know what ARMY stands for and why we value BTS so much and how ARMY became this big. (facepalm)
@@noemoon4277 exactly, like... it literally takes less than a min to search on google "bts army meaning" not even necesary to go in deep, we understand that new people sometimes have trouble remembering all that stuff, but just the basics and done
Everyone there is a part one for this but it does not talk about BTS. part one is a different topic. If you still want to watch it, simply click on the channel and select the video directly below this one. the title is “where are my genZ at? We are no longer Homo sapiens but phono sapiens” Hope this helps😊
I don't understand why they make a whole setup for a tv show talked about bts and army but didn't spend some time studying the real bts and army...this guy show nothing about the reason why bighit have to find a new way to promote bts throughout early days, those guests who thought bts come out of nowhere in western (even in korean) will keep thinking bighit and bts get everything just by luck😑
Because BTS was a small segment in this show. It wasn't solely about BTS, but about successful Korean companies and people. And I'm sure that guy is just playing stupid on t.v. saying he thought BTS success came out of nowhere. When you are responsible for looking down on people like a lot of people in that industry, you tend to play dumb when someone proves you wrong and becomes successful. I'm sure the adults that talked shit about BTS a few years ago are either staying quiet, or kissing their asses now. But yeah, it was a little annoying that he didn't go into details, but this is a show that was focusing on many different people/companies. I did like the fact that he said that BH didn't have the capital, so they had to get boys with actual talent. It shows that the big 3 doesn't always do that.
he explains really well. one thing if I say it's not even army can explain bts impact or success, because bts revolution is something you need to feel, you need to watch with your eyes. it's something you can't just describe with words, something you'll start but will never end.
What makes this video wholesome is the fact that each one of these featured artists/people went through so much that maybe even made them hit rock bottom but they bounced back and is shining and paving the way for a new era. Diamonds are formed under pressure so, don't give up just keep dreaming and keep on living. God Bless us all....
BTS isn’t popular because of their huge fanbase; no it’s because of their talent, If they weren’t talented, so wouldn’t there be a huge fanbase that wants to support good music and actual talented artists. Please put this in your mind.
I'm in my seventies I love BTS so 💜 much became an Army longtime ago watched their live concert they're very amazing performers talented and very humble artists if God permits I'm gonna watch their big comeback year 2025
somethings are ot correct. BTS rose to fame due to lyricism and their honesty in issues that mattered to everyone. All other thing that he mentioned did help but that wasnt the main reason.
This really educated man talking so respectfully and admiringly of BTS literally brought me to tears. It makes me so happy that our boys receive love from different types of people who may not even be fans. Thank you to this man for sharing BTS’ story and enlightening others about who they are, and thank you ARMY for loving and supporting BTS in every single thing they do 💜💜 Gamsahabnida!
There's one thing here that's inaccurate, and every documentary seems to get it wrong! The meaning of ARMY doesn't relate to the military, and it isn't "an army of people to protect BTS." Some people might find it embarrassing but I'm proud of it: A.R.M.Y. stands for 'Adorable Representative MCs for Youth'. We protect the youth. That's our mission, along with BTS. It's actually something much deeper than just being a fan of a boyband, it means we join BTS in trying to create a better world for the next generation, trying to protect young people from prejudice, stereotypes and unfair conditions. That's part of why we do so much charity work!
BTS is not really well-known in SK because obviously they're not from a huge company back then. And to be honest, BTS is the most perfect group who literally doesn't forget their own roots and their fans. They're the most humble person on earth and that's why the fandom is growing day by day. And i would like to really put it out there saying purple is not just a colour for a fandom, purple is the last colour of the rainbow and they're given other meaning to the armys from taehyung. And the name ARMY is not a name that we choose, it's from BTS.
People shouldn't just be careful of their words when they can sense someone's immense presence like BTS and ARMY..it should be done to every artist and fandom!
While I agree that ARMY made the big difference for BTS, it should always be noted why ARMYs chose BTS in the first place. Cos there are a lot of artists, even western artists, who have a large fanbase. Some western artists have bigger followers than BTS, but if you see the engagements in BTS posts, it's always millions per post. When they go live, the concurrent viewers are millions too. They sell out stadiums all over the world, and even for online paid concerts, they can have almost million PAID viewers. So why ARMYs are so engaged? What's different with BTS? It really boils down to how BTS is as artists, but more importantly as how they are as human beings. Their genuine personalities and passion for their craft are factors why fans root for them. And they REALLY love their fans. They are the most unproblematic artists out there and all the people they've worked with always have good things to say about them and how they are good people even behind camera, and how professional they are when it comes to work. I really believe that if you're a good person and works with passion, good karma will always be with you.
the teamwork make a dream come true.... teamwork from members, teamwork from staff of BIGHIT teamwork from Army... who imposibble to make a artist from.small.company artist from nothing will be success... they climb a mountain step by step with blood tears and sweat...never give up.and workhard💜💜💜
Although there were slight inaccuracies about BTS, I enjoyed the vid. BTS did not just happen on YT and get a huge following. Their key was their energy - magnetic, authentic, sincere. That's what draws people to BTS. But I am glad for people to keep thinking it's because of YT hahah, are you serious? Also I was embarrassed that I did not know baby shark was Korean until BTS came to par with her. Very major!
Them talking about american ARMY, spanish ARMY me :🥲🇪🇸 Anyway, I love ARMY so much, people say we are really toxic (it’s true that there are some who are) but we just protect our boys from all disrespectful comments BORAHE BTSXARMY 💜
I don't know why im watching this and the mc and audience always mentioned how successful bts I'm crying crying and feeling nervous. I don't know how to describe this feeling. I love them so much. Not only love as a fan but as family having related.
for me to respect someone as an artist is not enough to be pretty or handsome, neither sing like a opera singer , neither be nice with your fans. is more than that ... of course you can be famous with those qualities and there are som ekpop groups as examples ...but is not enough to equal bts level.
Tbh idk why those people are there they don’t seem that interested or care about BTS or this topic they look like they are bored 😐 next time get people with better reaction and more open minded .. lol stream dynamite >>1billion 💜💜
BTS did not just become popular on a span of a day, their popularity is not because they become viral or what. Their international popularity and fandom increase gradually but Koreans choose to ignore them. I remember way back when their digitals is so low, international ARMYS keeps on voting and streaming for them overnight for their first win but sadly, they always lose cause their fandom in Korea is still weak. International ARMYS keeps on promoting them everywhere. Even if they have win on Run era, they are still underrated. When Fire MV come out, that's the start of their gradual increase when it comes to local popularity and that continue up until now that they are on the top. BTS did not go on the top in just a day, they constantly run on the rough path until they are on top. They really deserve it all.
Hmmmm... The way it's kinda not explaining about certain stuff about BTS or ARMYs. But well, it's not like the speaker knows about them with a fandom perspective.
Love it but a few things I wish he had explained better. I know we don’t like to publicize our legal name but it’s a good answer to the question why we are called “army” 🤧
Bts didn't just blow up, they were suppressed by the media coz they were from a poor company. :( They even entered billboard before the media recognized them
