My name is Brad Wilde I have been rebuilding automatic transmissions for over 30 years. I was factory trained at college and ASE certified in transmissions.
Sir, Thanks a million for this video. Please my infinite fx45 transaction makes noise only on Park and neutral but the sound off when engaged in gear (reverse or drive)
I believe the metal sleeve in the direct clutch drum has turned and is blocking oil passage. I only have low and reverse gear working. Does that sound correct? No water contamination. Could I press that apart, realign and locktite/stake in place. Thanks and awesome video.
Did you wind up replacing any of the aluminum pistons (like the one in the direct drum) and also wanted to know if you wound up replacing all the steels? I am finding similar condition in the one I am taking apart. Someone has been in it before, had the small pump gear upside down, a new band, and looks like they just cleaned and reused the valve body (I will replace this time) and steels. I kind of understand I guess as parts are pretty pricey.
Just wanted to give you a sincere THANK YOU. Without your video there is no way I would have thought to rebuild our Xterra's transmission myself. Where did you get the tool that you use on your press to install the molded pistons?
I have a 2007 infiniti m35 and recently replaced the low coast clutch solenoid after a run of a check engine light revealed that it was the problem. my car came with the nachi style solenoid and I replaced it with a Mitsubishi solenoid. I also went ahead and replaced all the solenoids. Now my car shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd (feels like someone rear ended me in the back) every time it shifts. Also, at first start during cold weather it sometimes goes into limp mode when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and would take at least a couple of seconds before it engages again. My question is, is it then solenoids causing the issue or is my TCM failing? Just would like to know which part I need to fix. Thank you for your assistance! Brad's Transmission
Hello Brad, I have an 05 Frontier with that transmission and there is no coolant cross contamination but I am running into a high temperature problem. My temps risen to 180degF recently where it used to always hover between 150-165. I bypassed the radiator cooler, have a second trans cooler in series with the OE cooler and also have a fan on one of them. I have an Autometer trans temp gauge with the sender plugged into the test pressure port. Do you know what could be wrong? Fluid level is okay and fluid is new, filter has been changed several times. I am at 160k miles.
Iam rebuilding JR403e 96 Isuzu npr 3.9 diesel, having trouble finding a forward drum bushing. The bushing kits I’ve ordered so far are missing this bushing, maybe you know where one is available, Thanks for all vids
