I'm wanting to get an arbor press but i need it to have the lock option like yours so i can also install and remove these snap rings. I'm not seeing this option on the ones i have looked at. What brand is the one you have?
None of the arbor presses come with a lock. I made my own. there are two bolts in the front and on the side of the arbor head, I just replaced one of the bolts with a longer one and welded a cross bar for leverage.
@@bradstransmission3846 Awesome.....Thanks for getting back to me. I'm just getting started building transmissions and your videos are helping tremendously.
Ay chief, once again thanks for your professional work and dedication, you really found the best tools as well. you wouldnt mind sharing what bushing driver set you use, part number, where you bought it would ya ? Also the OEM ford rotunda tool @ 33:20 that must have cost alot ? I trust your opinion !!!
Bushing driver set is here, www.toolsource.com/bushing-tools-c-1321_119_581/major-bushing-driver-kit-26pc-p-117633.html The OEM ford tool was outrageous.
@@bradstransmission3846 Hello. I have 400kms (250 miles) on my re-build. Only when the transmission is at full operating temperature, there is "RPM flare-up" or "delay" in shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. When "cold" there is no "flare-up". The transmission seems to shift properly until it warms-up. Curious if you have any advice for me. Thanks
Hi. my car pathfinder 2010 4.0 when changing gear from P to D or from R to D, there is always a delay of 2-3 seconds when shifting to D. The rest works very well. What can be? Electrovalve? I have new, original oil. Could some solenoid valve be responsible for this? while driving everything is ok. this is most noticeable when it's hot. and when I change from R to Drive. thank you for the information
Thank you again Brad! I just replaced my broken sunshell. I put my trans together and noticed my input shaft play has almost no play at all. I can turn the shaft by hand but I have almost no play at all. Is this an issue or can I install the transmission?
Lots of details and knowledge. Thank you. Where did you get the rebuild kit from, and did it have all it's needed it? Or what extra parts do you recommend to replace while I'm doing it? Q: I have a 2007 v6 rwd and need to replace or rebuild. I had the same problem. Thank you.
PRECISION INTERNATIONAL is the best kit out there, but most the kits have what you need for the over haul. you must replace the valve body with a new one or remanufactured one.
Great video. Thanks! I. Want to make sure I understand where the full mark on the dipstick reads while it’s installed so I don’t make a deadly mistake. The full mark / second hole is about a tad more than 1/2” lower than the pan gasket. Is that correct?
the c clip has a slight bevel at the opening. put it so the pointed end is up, this will give the next person something to grab on to when getting the clip out.
@@bradstransmission3846 you are the master! I could not figure out why. Is that why it’s painted? What’s the significance of the yellow paint? I also saw 4 dabs of white paint on top of my planetary. Would you know?
So far so good. I have everything torn apart and rady to clean. BTW, do you still need the torque specs? I have them in the 62-63 Thunderbird shop manual and can copy and send to you.
I just watched all 3 parts of this rebuild and I can now confidently say, even with a little bit of patience and taking my time, there's no way I'm attempting that.
Hello my friend. I want you to help me. I have a 1964 Ford Thunderbird. Is it possible for me to find an automatic transmission? The engine size is 390.
I have a 95 4l80. Attached to valve body is a plate under the dipstick hole. I’d guess it limits how deep the dipstick goes. Any idea or input on that plate
Can someone help me? I have a problem with my transmission, the gears shift perfectly, but I don't have reverse. At first when I put it in reverse it wouldn't go until I pressed the gas pedal to about 1500 RPM. Now it won't even start like that. I took off and cleaned the valve body, chek out the solenoids, cleaned and inspected all the valves on the valve body, when i put the transmission back together it still behaves the same. Does anyone know what is problem?
Hi. Brad. I have 65 thunderbird with cruise-o-matic my friend did rebuilding and after that transmission not shifting gears at all. It's still on first gear and i can put second manual. Reverse its working. Please help what could be wrong ?? I'm stuck with it.
@@bradstransmission3846 thanks for You answer. The valve body we check and nothing stuck in it. Could be a modulator ?? I buy new one with adjustment. I change also a brake booster from orginal to uniwersal. Where from shoul modulator get vacum in oryginal was from break booster?
