My last q70 wouldn’t shift past third gear one day luckily I had a extended warranty cause man that was an expensive repair. I think it went around 90k miles on my 15
My 2017 just hit 82,000 and it's in the shop now for the same issue. Fortunately I have plenty of warranty left and only have to pay the $100 deductible.
I have an IPT W4A33 auto in one of my DSM. Just got a 2018 Nismo 370z and im brought back to IPT. My search ends here! If you're considering giving IPT your business, guess no more. Contact them with confidence! Jon and the crew know what they're doing.
My 2014 q50 abruptly started having slam shifts and either didn't shift at all or would not get passed 3rd gear. I got the P0720 code and haven't touched the car in 2 weeks. I am mechanically inclined and feel like i could replace the valve body myself but there is sooo much conflicting information weather i would need tcm reprogramming or not. I went to a local transmission shop and was told that they need to buy a brand new valve body directly from nissan/infiniti @ close to $2k and the shop would charge me about $2500 for install and reprogramming... I am undecided weather it's worth spending that much on a repair at 90k miles over selling as is. I want to attempt to repair it myself but i have not found concrete information or on how to do it myself.
I'm torn because my 370z 7AT went our 4 months ago, but it's covered under warranty. The transmission has been on back order for 4 months. I brought up the valve body to Nissan and they said I'm wrong it's the Transmission.
@iptperformancetrans not so much a question, but an open end rant if anyone wants to comment. I guess what I was implying is I bet my valve body is out since my transmission won't shift into 3rd and the manual won't activate, but it's covered under warrant and I can get a new transmission, however, it's on back order
2014 370z. Code P0720, unfortunately I went after the output speed sensor with the trans installed but i believe its the TCM, is there a way to verify? Can the valve body removal be done with the transmission in the vehicle. Appreciate your time and the videos are outstanding!!
Ok so I have a question. My valve body decided to die like they do a lot in these Infiniti 7 speeds. If I sent you my original one (the broken one) would this upgrade make it work again ? Or is this upgrade only for valve bodies that already work ?
I bought a new Valve body from infiniti. Does the valve body come complete and you just switch 5ge old valve body with the new or are there other steps. Thanks
I got a PO710 code on my 2013 g37. Transmission auto shop is telling me in order to replace the fluid temp sensor I need to buy a brand new valve body(cost 2k) because you can’t swapped a used one. My car shifts fine so I am not sure what to do and they aren’t even sure what the exact issue is. They cleared the code for now. Any advice or rebuttals to their statement?
If you want it to work at all, I strongly recommend get the exact right thing unless you’re a masochist. Maybe I need to pin a comment because people keep asking and I keep giving the same response.
Good morning sir. What areas of the Nissan/Infiniti RE7R01A/JR710E Valve Body do IPT usually address for your upgrade package. Example.. Pressures Regulator, TCC, Low Brake Switch, Pilot A, B Valve Assemblies. I am asking so I can fully understand what I am purchasing, because I am seriously considering your services at IPT. Thanks in advance!
That's mostly proprietary information but I'll say that what we do has nothing to do with the electronics, it consists of 100% mechanical modifications
i have a 2012 g37 coupe 160k miles. dosent let me shift from D to DS or manual mode. also will not shift above 3rd gear. codes U1024 & P0720. it didn’t throw a CEL at first but i scanned it and got those codes. it threw a CEL since but i haven’t scanned it to see what other codes i could have. my trans also seems to be slipping so i was planning on buying another 7at and putting it in. i found one from a 2012 Sedan, from what i’ve looked up i think the trans for the coupe and sedan r the same. the shop with the trans says they r the same. i bought a new pan, fluid, gasket and was going to go buy the trans tmrw for $500 117k miles. will this fix my issue or am i not fixing the right issue?
How often does this problem occur in a single car? Every certain amount of miles? I’m considering selling or keeping it. Lastly when replacing the valve body does the TCM also have to be replaced as well? Btw thanks for responding to everybody you are very helpful
@@iptperformancetrans hello i have a question my 2008 g37 went into limp mode and won’t let me go over 30 mph and i was wondering if you think it could be the computer valve body?, i had a mechanic look at it and he told me that’s what it was but i just want to make sure before i spend the money
It’s hard to say but a lot of people are running into it. Hopefully Nissan’s newer TCMs are more robust As far as value body vs TCM, the problem is the TCM, people only call it a ‘valve body problem’ because, from the dealership you need to buy a complete valve body to get the TCM
Nissan installed a valve body on my Q50 Now shifter won’t move out of park, the mechanic is saying I ordered the wrong valve body but I’m pretty sure it’s the correct one. What would cause that issue?
I’d hesitate to do anything other then and exact swap, there are lots of interchangeability issues New is reliable but spendy, I called the dealer for one today and the list price was north of $1.7K
Hello sir, I just got this done, and the manual shifting won’t engage in its own. Also, when I try to put it back in D, the car gets stuck on the gear I left it on. The letters on the dash won’t change either. Any thoughts? Bad valve body? Or bad replacement?
I have a 2006 g35, I replaced my front brake solenoid, and put the valve back up and now my car doesn’t go into park and stays on neutral no matter what gear it’s on when the car is on.
@@brandonphillips7895 You would need to at least drop the pan and see what's wrong. The proper installation is all in the video. Pull the pan and chances are the problem will be obvious.
If you were to replace your valve body it’s definitely preferable to use your existing TCM, however, often times people are replacing a bad TCM as they are a very high failure component. The common symptoms of this are a code P0720 (false speed sensor code) and typically no upshift, as your computer sees 0 output shaft speed and therefore has no reason to command a shift.
@@Highwayvillian. The dealership has gone back and forth between plug and play and valve bodies which would need programming. I'm not sure how they are currently doing it. The best bet would probably be to call them with your vin and ask (if you are getting a new one of course)
Hey I’m having a p0720 code on my Infiniti q60 2015 3.7 engine . It shifts really weird and won’t go past 3rd gear and I only have 26k miles I haven’t drove the car in months now since it messed up on me I was wondering if sent in my original valve body to get upgraded would I need to reprogram the car after the install or is it just plug and play ready ?
So I ordered a new valve body for my Infiniti g37 coupe. Rwd. 7AT. The black piece on the top of the valve body that came out of my car says M3B on it but the new one I had looks identical but says M3A. Will it work still ?
I can't say other than those numbers have never helped me find the right thing before. It can have the same number but different software written into the tcm. If it's new, it may need to programmed. I'd ask whomever you purchased it from.
I turned my car into the dealer to replace my valve body after only driving the car for two damn days and they have had my car for a month and a week should it take that long? It’s a q50 btw
I have a 2014 Q50s 3.5L AWD automatic Hybrid that has the P0720 code. The vehicle is in limp mode & won’t go faster than 10mph. Is this valve body compatible with my car? Thanks.
My car wont let me go past 3rd gear and got a check engine light with codes p0500 and p0720 do you think its the transmission valve body? 2015 infiniti q50s
Same I’m only getting p0720 2014 q50. I changed my output speed sensor still the same issue. But I was told if I put a new valve body in I would have to get it programmed to the transmission and im not sure how that works
I have a 2007 G35 coupe my TCM had a loose circuit that kept getting loose after I soldered it so I went to junkyard and got the same TCM/Valvebody from a vehicle I wanted to know if I can just switch out the TCM and put it on the Valvebody I have right now or do I need to switch out both if so when I do either do I also have to get it reprogrammed to my vehicle or is it just a matter of plug n play and I’ll be good like that? please lmk
@iptperformancetrans help me here pls im doing it by myself and its hard , i changed the valve body for one with the tcm blank since its repaired valvebody . I filled the trans by my own and the car now runs and shifts not on time like it used to be but now pass the 3gear while won't do with my old valvebody . But when gear its in D it moves forward but not like before like if was on limp mode . And got code P2713 . Please help do i need to reprogram that tcm from new valvebody??
Most Jatco/Nissan/Infiniti valve bodies can't be repaired because the OEM's don't sell any valve body components. We can, however, modify properly working valve bodies for improved shifting and performance
I have a g37 2012 I feel really hard hit on the transmission when it changing gears also somtimes the transmission slip and i see AT check on the dashboard do i need to change the valve body to fix this problem or the problem could be something else?
@@iptperformancetrans i dont know i just see AT check on the dashboard when this happen also somtimes the gears go from D to Ds or from D to P or N and i cant drive the car over 40 KM because of this problem i have a video i can send it to you through gmail
I have a 2014 Q50 that had its Valve Body replaced 20k miles ago- when that happened, I got DTCs and the car wouldn't go above 3rd gear. Now I have 80k miles on the car and I think the torque converter is failing because the transmission is slipping when I press the gas too hard (I can drive in all gears at all speeds). I am wanting to swap in a 2016+ transmission and will have to use my 2014 valve body. I've read that it is easily swappable. Do you think it will work? Have you heard/read anything about people doing this swap? Thanks.
@@cheese3630 They are about identical in this regard. Upgrades for this are all right here: www.importperformancetrans.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=54
If you swap it, it has to be from the same exact vehicle or some places, including the dealership can program it based on the vin Typically, we just work with the vb out of the vehicle so obviously, it’s always compatible
