For all his acting prowess, Tom Cruise could not get an average tough guy to back down with that look. THAT is Jack Reacher.

Just watched the first episode and all I can say is what a pleasure to see Jack Reacher done justice on screen. When I read the books I always pictured Liev Schreiber playing him in a movie or series, and after hearing Thad from Blue Mountain State was cast I thought oh no this is going to be campy comedy action. How wrong I was, Alan Ritchson nailed Jack Reacher! I haven't been this excited to watch the rest of a series ever. I highly recommend this show, well done to Amazon Prime and the production team, I'm sure Lee Child is happy with this product.

I love that Tom Cruise brought Reacher to a wider audience, and he did a great job of acting like Reacher. My complaint for the big screen was always that Reacher was a monster of a man in the books and Cruise just couldn't pull off Reacher's size, no matter his acting chops. I can see this guy as Reacher. And his expressions? Perfect. I can see the entire conversation with guy in the first two minutes. "Yes, sir. It won't happen again."

Willa Fitzgerald is a real bright spot in this series as the deputy who befriends Reacher. She comes out of nowhere to literally steal every scene she's in! The show is really entertaining!

I've watched the entire thing 2 times already. Dragging all my friends to sit and watch it with me.

Dude is built like a brontosaurus & this guy's instinct is to pick a fight with him.

I knew I was gonna like this show when it opened with "Smokestack Lightning"

Finally, a Jack Reacher that looks like the guy described by Lee Child and the one that I have pictured in my head all these years. I really hope this show lives up to the hype.

Tom C as an action hero leaves much to the imagination. With out special effects he’s average at best. Alan R is the special effect, the scenes form around him. Great seeing a book character come alive in a believable way.

Smokestack Lightning, I could listen to Howlin Wolf for hours. Wait, I already have and do. Watching Reacher just makes everything so much better.

Having read all the Reacher books, Richson is perfect. I get giddy watching it. There's only been one other actor cast in a role based on a book series who was spot on, and that was Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone.

This show is, and does, exactly what it's supposed to be. This is a series for those who love the novels. It's mostly been faithfully adapted from the source material, and they couldn't have cast a better Reacher. It isn't The Leftovers but it is what it is. A fast paced, fun action show where reacher fans can watch him whoop some ass and crack wise. Obviously nothing will ever top the books, imo at least, but this is soooo much better than the Cruise version. He was a TRULY terrible choice

I'm absolutely thrilled by this show honestly i didn't know the actor and was sceptical at first than forgot about it few days ago i decided to give it a shot and i was amazed by tbe performance of Reacher wow i can't wait for season 2 and frankly if there'll be a Jack Reacher movie 3 i believe this actor fits amazingly to the role looking forward for Season 2

Not an actual scene in the book, but if true to character he is calculating how many seconds it will take to remove the A--hole from the planet in the least amount of moves. That takes about a tenth of a second and the rest of the time he is debating how much he needs to take off his blow so that the guy doesn´t die.

There have been 26 books in the Reacher series. The last 2 were co-written by Lee Child and his younger brother Andrew Grant. Child announced that he was retiring from writing the Reacher books and was handing the reigns over to Andrew. Grant is a best selling author in his own right. He will do quite well keeping the series alive.

What a great show. Ritchson is just a little better choice as Reacher than Tom Cruise...in about a 100 ways. The people at Amazon should contact Stephen King's people and teach them how to make a decent series from a great book.

I've been watching the show and yep, good, solid show. I'm getting "Banshee" vibes and I mean that as a compliment. If the folks at Amazon Prime are wondering what shows they should produce and endorse, on my part as a viewer, more shows like this and less like "The Wheel Of Time". More shows like "The Expanse" and less like the upcoming "LOTR: The Rings Of Power". I also like that in this case all episodes were released at the same time. THIS is what Jack Reacher should look, sound and be like. Kudos to the cast and the people behind the camera. A no frills, gritty, raw show like this was overdue. Especially with the awesome "Bosch" coming to an end. As a customer I want to be entertained, not preached at and talked down to...

At least this actor looks a lot closer to the 6'5" that Jack Reacher is supposed to be. It is kind of hard to look 6'5" tall when you are only 5'7" tall, which is what the height of Tom Cruise.

Not gonna lie, even though Alan Ritchson is definitely the physical embodiment of Jack Reacher, I was a bit worried because I only knew him as Thad Castle. But then when he hit dude with the stare down, I was like oh damn, dude really is Jack Reacher!

Ahahaha... never read the books, so no frame of reference. I dunno if the woodenness of the character is what was written or a function of fewer acting chops than Arnie. But, holy-f, lol. I'm 6'3", about 230, and I was quite well built when I was young, still have broad shoulders, but this guy, lolhahaha, he's a bloody walking wall. I'm sure I could hit him, and it would bounce off him. Then I'd be like Maxwell Smart, 'I hope I wasn't outaline with that crack about 'fewer acting chops than Arnie' hahahaha. Seriously. It's rare I have to look up at someone. This guy....jeez. lol.
