i dont understand this comment they are down 5 players who make up a large chunk of the salary cap. Theres no way to judge how the season will go based on this game, also cleveland is one of the tallest teams in the league and raptors are small, so its a bad matchup
@@catscanmeowYes it's too early to go off just one game alone and considering the injuries it's understandable. The context of my comment was I had no expectations for them this year even if healthy. It's tough seeing an ass whooping like that but at least make it a 5-10 pt loss
I am a die hard Raptor supporter, so I always want my team to win. That having been said, I am truly pissed with SB. There’s no excuse for the way he played, the way he approached the game. I don’t want to watch us lose bc of lack of effort by SB. Someone ought to tell him that leadership requires getting his nose dirty. Score the ball, defend the ball, let the coaches coach. Scottie, your responsibility is to put your stamp on the game. Last thing I have to say is this. There a time for coaching to win a game, and then there’s practice. I put a lot of this loss on coach. He can’t watch us fall behind 10 pts and more without making changes. They didn’t shut down SB, he shut down himself. I don’t want talking, I want effort all around. Go Raptors Go
@@jahwalks agree..last season is over and after you sign a max contract season he should be hype playing his max contract season but can’t see any fire on his eyes unlike quickley
Packed house for home opener - spent $100 a ticket for 300’s, parking$, food and drinks makes it a very $$ night . I’m gonna be watching them on tv from now on…ain’t worth it.
Will Lou you keep referencing Lowry as the great leader for Toronto which he was..But let's not forget when he was younger he was very immature and fighting with coached. He didnt arrive to Toronto until he was 26 years old and still needed time become leader he was. We need to have patience with Barnes his 23 years old lets not forget that
its like Scottie is regressing, different year, same moves....you got to improve your dribble and skills to get past your defender to get to the basket....if you can't post properly. its all forced moves today from scottie. OWNED by MOBLEY Today
Atleast the jerseys were nice. Can we make the court purple and bring back the dino at center court? That _could_ make these types of losses easier to bear. And I agree with your point about Shead. His compete level is there. I want to see how he does guarding Maxey when we face them next. Jamal seems like he can get to the rim at ease whenever he wants to. Question, who do you think draws a charge first, Gradey or Shead?
I hold the coaching staff responsible for not preparing the team properly and failing to scout the Cavaliers effectively. They should have anticipated the Cavs' strategies, including how to handle their zone defense. It was also clear that the new coach planned to make Evan Mobley a more active player compared to the previous season. All it took was watching Kenny Atkinson’s pre-game interview-he explicitly stated that Mobley would be more aggressive and that they aimed to slow down Scottie Barnes. Throughout the summer, the Cavs trained Mobley to be more assertive and attack more. Our coaching staff failed to ensure that our team was ready for these adjustments, which ultimately reflects a lack of scouting and preparation.
Scottie’s needs to grow emotionally before he can really be the leader of this team. There was one sequence when he gave up on the ball because he thought it was a dead ball even though the whistle had not blown, which allowed the Cavs to go on a break. Also there was another sequence when he failed to get back on D because he was jawing at the ref. The Raps just looked completely unprepared. Growing concerned about Darko. He also allowed the game to get out of hand, before calling really late timeouts. Having said this they are missing 4 very good players. When I saw the lineup today I knew it was going to be trouble.
Man, scottie's lack of any bag is depressing. He's at risk of being " over rated". The complaining, and asking for coaches challenge when it's obvious he committed the foul is getting old, fast
I said it before and I'll say it again, Scottie is not that dude. He's a good player but he can't be the engine of your offense. He just doesnt have the shot making and advantage creating skill set. Superstars win chips in the NBA and Scottie will.never be one. I dont say that to hate on him, I would love nothing more than for him to be a superstar. Just calling balls and strikes. I won't even get into his attitude and lack of energy when things are going poorly. It's not what leaders are made of.
