I always say bye to Angelina Angelina sings this just like Elvis first did it in 1966 on his Album How Great Though Art but Elvis has sang this many times Elvis is my icon I’m Elvis crazy but I’m also Angelina crazy and I just love it when Angelina sings an Elvis song she has sang quite a few Elvis songs now but I think this tops them all so far these are favourite singers of all time I have my king and now my Queen 👑 👑👑👑🕺🏻👸🏻🎸🎸👼👼🥰👋
Of course, Bobby Hatfield of The Righteous Brothers is the 'Gold Standard' for this song, but from a female perspective, Angelina is the best I've ever heard doing it. 'How Great Thou Art' is just mesmerizing. Who would think a young girl could sing in such a continuous low register.
She did a TV Interview about her book when she was 9. After the interview, she also performed a short rendition of "Unchained Melody" which is just wondrous. The interview includes English subtitles. Here is the interview: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--cCLDY0CSZ8.html and the song: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wPfMzMeBLbo.html. The interview always brings me to tears. She reads from her journal (she was six!) of the day she gave her shoes away. It is just astonishing beyond words.
As much as anything, what amazes me is her description of the shoes she gave away "my favorite sea-green ankle boots". Clearly a treasured possession of the 6 year old child yet she gave them away because the other child needed them. It is fascinating for anyone who has raised children through that age to contemplate.
A better reaction than ever so spot on Angelina has such an amazing vocal range with no stress in delivery it's as if she just gives such sweet delivery of a song that you can't believe what you just heard and shes done this from 7 years on just an unbelievable experience I could listen to this girl all day long and not get tired.
Love your reaction ma'am beautiful..... She never fails to stir emotions in me. When i listen to her sing..... the best voice i've ever heard and genius..✌
no one in history have done that Angelina does in every cover, switch her voice to every cover or original she sings in her young age,a living legend she is, she is born to sing, every songs she perform is always in high level, and sings often in her covers better than the original singers,Lana, adele, sam smith and more,so young she is, next level generation Angelina is,many singers today is great but Angelina is so mutch better to catch you listener in to her song.
First time I heard her sing How Great Thou Art.....FIRSTLY, I WAS BLOWN AWAY THAT SHE COULD GO THAT LOW ANNNDDD SOUND GREAT BY THE WAY..... Then I said She's the FEMALE ELVIS!!!!!
The beauty of responding to Angelina's amazing performance is undoubtedly a talent from birth. And yes she is the female version of Elvis Presley without a doubt at all !!! Did you hear her sing " LOVE ME TENDER " at the age of 10 if U don't thes is your next song ... 🗣🎙
🙏🙂🙏 your reaction to AJ has brought me happy tears for simply watching your admiration and astonishment for what AJ is capable of and how she transcends pain through her controlled voice. It is beautiful to see others share similar passionate expressions about AJ.
Thank you. Thank you. 2 great reactions to two more Angelina covers of well known songs that she reinterprets with her own magical vocals. You mentioned some vocal similarities to Elvis. If you haven't yet, please consider reacting to Angelina's covers of: It's Now or Never, Can't Help Falling In Love With You &/or Are You Lonesome Tonight. Thanks again. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.
I LOVE Your Reactions !!! and yes please CONTINUE the TWO IN ONE Reaction format. Most people I've seen have commented that Angelina has made direct covers of Both Elvis and Frank Sinatra, hence the much lower notes. ... RE the Church Hymn, take note of Angelina's ease in going from the ELVIS (Cover) Low Notes to Angelina's normal voice "Bye" at the end. -- Love Dave
Love the new format! Interesting choice of songs here, with (most of?) Angelina’s vocal range on display. I don’t travel with my piano, but if my guitar doesn’t lie that final note of «Unchained Melody» is a G5 - and who knew Angelina has such a beautiful and well controlled «operatic» falsetto? That is not something she uses often. I believe this is the highest note on record for her, a half step above the belted F#5 in «I Have Nothing». And then in «How Great Thou Art», she drops down to what sounds like a solid F2. Pretty remarkable for a female, never mind a twelve year old! The real point, of course, is not the range in itself (the ability to make low and high noises), but the beautiful, rich tone Angelina has throughout her range. She sounds at ease and «at home» through three octaves - just one of the many things that makes her most unusual…
Thank you, all the Schnell's and Jordan's who participated in this video. Putting these two video's together definitely gave us an idea of what her range is. And, as different as the two songs were, one factor is always a constant when we hear Angelina sing: Her love of music and her desire to sing for us.
Hi Schnell, love the double reactions to Angie & they were great. Angie was 12 in both. (The second one Angie did her version of the Elvis rendition & still made it her own & even sang it in the same key as Elvis) On the second one it was actually filmed near the end of 2018 when she was 12 still. Some people think she was 13 for they're going by the release date & note by when Mery her grandma filmed it & Ivan Mendez was playing the guitar. ( in the 1st one notice she didn't have a mic, only the cel phone one.) in the 2nd one she was using the mic she just got for her 12th B-day which is a Neumann tlm 102. “The Show Must Go On” - Queen ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6NJv02ot5jg.html Angie was 13 here sitting on a stool. “Moon river” by Audrey Hepburn ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0n13XcVdQr8.html Angie’s 13 here.
Thank you Schnell, I love always your reactions with Angelina, two wonders that offset each other. I love the ease with which she uses her low registers, they are always so soft, sinuous and slowed down, that they steal your soul 💛 🧡 ❤️
Schnell many thanks for the awesome birthday gift, reacting to 4 performances by my all time favorite musical artist. The best part is that you could react to any of her videos and we know it will be great. Love how Angelina sang "How Great Thou Art" in the same key as Elvis Presley.
People forgot that Angelina is one of the best music historians around, Mary exposed her to everything at such a young age that it's more than natural talent, it's exposure to all the greats in every genre.
This is a fan video (not sure why the jumpers?). I’m guessing she’s about 12 here. I would love to hear her do this again today. She always reminds me of Elvis when she gets to the chorus. I am really enjoying getting to see two performances together. Fun!
Did Angelina sing "Unchained Melody" in a key lower than the Righteous Brothers version. She is a female and probably less than half the age of the other, yet she seems to inbide much more smokiness and whisky or Gin into the song with her unique rasps and tones. Amazing low tones from Angelina with the song "How Great Thou Art". What makes her voice or instrument at her age more amazing is that she has also covered some of Whitney Houston's songs and reached the high notes required there with aplomb.
Thank you very much for this reaction. I love Angelinas performances, be it a cover or one of her own songs. In case you want to do another reaction to one of her performances, I recommend to checkout the following playlist of one of her biggest fans, Rusty Shackeford. He is constantly updating a playlist containing all songs Angelina performed - right now 157 songs. So plenty to choose from. As the playlists ID changes alot to add new songs, here the link to his playlist section to choose the "Angelina Jordan - every song" there. ru-vid.complaylists
Very close, but listen to her "It's Now or Never" when she was 11. Absolutely uncanny in my semi-humble opinion. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hli1fuk8zQQ.html
I believe in reincarnation and she’s not from here. A true miracle for the world. The person we need for these times. I can’t help but cry when I hear her voice. No artist has connected with me like Angelina Jordan has. But it’s also because she’s a beautiful human being.
Huge god-given talent + professional work ethic since the age of 6 = World Class artist at 15. Great back-to-back! Her Unchained Melody was definitely inspired by Bobby Hatfield and her How Great Thou Art by Elvis.
Wasn’t that beautiful? Angelina sings this in the key of B-flat major, not just the same key, but the same register as Elvis sang it. The lowest note she hits is C3, one octave below C4, which is middle-C on a piano. Her voice is simply astounding!
Actually she can hit A2- B2, as her lowest so far, as a few couches even remarked on it. Evan Ceci in one of her more other reaction after this song she mentioned it.
@@ooshta I discovered her through Voice Lexicon when down a rabbit hole after having discovered the amazing Danailya Tolushovia. He repeatedly broke out the piano to tell us what notes she was hitting either how low or high high. I was so happy to have discovered Danailya before she went on Worlds Best and Angie before she went on AGT. Both girls are sweet and well put together from great families with mothers that are doing everything to ensure they have their childhood while pursuing their dreams.
@@Nightfighter82 I agree & DT is great too I think she'll do good in pop genre. Just think this isn't the lowest Angie has sung. one of the lowest she's sung it this song from Sinatra. “You Make Me Feel So Young” cover by Frank Sinatra ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MQN3ecsutLs.html She’s 13 & she gets even lower singing both parts in this duet style song she does. Really amazing.
Damn! I'm a grizzled, wrinkled 73 year old curmudgeon who doesn't get moved by much any more, and here I am with tears trickling down my cheeks. How can such a young sweetheart do this to me?
Great reaction and yes on How Great Thou Art she was inspired by Elvis. Listen to his version and her version on first verse almost sound the same. That's why she is referred to as the Angel of a 1,000 Voices. If you listen to her covers you almost can hear the original singers voice, but this one is very prominent. God Bless!
An extraordinarily talented young lady. Knowing she is heavily influenced by Elvis Presley, perhaps you should do reactions to Elvis singing the same songs.
The strength, clarity and sheer power of her lower register is simply astonishing for anyone, but unfathomable in a pre-pubescent female. Angelina delivers another miracle every other day 😎
I loved both songs. To me, the key and the high and low register she has is not so important. It is the tone and the emotion that she puts into her song what gives me chills and sometime brings me to tears.
She wasn't born with it, she started taking vocals lessons at the age of 4 and was recording in studios by the age of 6! She showed an interest in music at the age of 18 months though.
Why do i love Angelina and her music? It is because she is the one and only ANGELINA. No one will ever be able to convince me there is a better human then this young lady.
Hi Schnell. Thanks for another wonderful Angelina reaction. Please consider reviewing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sZ25H4a2gPI.html her cover of My Funny Valentine. This is a mostly unknown gem that gets overlooked by all serious reactors. She is 11 years old and sings this classic with so much ease, emotion and confidence, especially for her young age. But what makes it my favorite is how happy, upbeat and excited she is throughout the song which is a little different than all her other performances.
Thanks so much Schnell for reacting to our dear Angelina. I enjoyed, as usual, what you had to say and appreciate the support and love you give her. Love and blessings to you.
Kudos to you for sensing the Elvis influence without knowing that Elvis actually DID perform this song! Angelina enjoys Elvis so much that she has covered more of his songs: "It's Now or Never", "Welcome to My World", "Can't Help Falling in Love", and "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" Thumbs up and thank you for BOTH reactions - both of which are a couple of my favorite AJ songs.
@@mikehaun5690 Oh, yeah - so many Elvis covers that it's difficult to remember all of them off the top of my head! Thanks for your assistance, Mike! :D
Hello BEAUTIFUL SCHNELL and thank you for such a beautiful and enjoyable reaction. I know now that it's a good thing when my favorite reactors stay away from my ANGEL for a good while and come back and rediscover her with her younger performances because there is that element of shock all over again as to what she is capable of at such a young age. There are so many great artists out there and I do listen to alot of different artists and I do like alot of different artists as well but Angelina is one of only 2 artists who has managed to reach my soul with her singing. The other would be AURORA. These two Norwegian singers are my favorites of all time. So TUSEN TAK SCHNELL and see you next time😇🌺💖
Great reaction...as usual...for your throw back reaction if you have not heard of her or this song try Connie Francis song of Where the boys are, A huge hit in the early 60's. Also opening song in the movie Where the boys are.
I know of no other young female vocalist that has Angelina’s lower register. I do know of some male vocalists that don’t have Angelina’s lower register. She is absolutely the most uniquely gifted young vocalist I have ever heard.
🌞Nicely done sunshine,, I really like Carrie Underwood,, but for me Carrie can't even hold Angelina's shoes on this one,, it's just Angelina's deep tone is just so beautiful to me an actually Angelina does makes me feel the love that she has for her lord an saviour,, 🙏🙏 👣🌬🌎
Confession! I'd never heard of Carrie Underwood before Schnell mentioned her. So went across and listened to her performance of "How great thus art". Very credible performance but, for me, there is no reverence in her voice, unlike Angelina.
Had not seen the Unchained Meoldy video- you are right she killed it as always. She made it her own and just put her whole soud into it, and made thi;s classic her own, and her melissmas were out of this world. I had seen her How Great Thou Art video before---just stunning photography and her low voice is just mesermizing. The only thing I'd change is the wind surfers-- that didn't seem to fit for me. By the way Elvis had done a cover of this song, and I had not noticed the similarities, but now I am convinced she probably heard his version. The song was written by a Scandinavian, and that is where she is from originally! How Greast Thou Art was posted in Dec. 2019 which means she was 13 when she sang this--just about one month before she did Bohemian Rhapsody for AGT. I agree with everything you said about her performance. She just grabs my soul every tme!!!
I'm betting she had her voice crack between 11 and 12. If you look at the songs with how much crack and rasp at around 11 and then after 12, while she can still add it when she needs it, it was quite as naturally apparent. And now at 15 going on 16, it seems her vocal cords stretch more because she get really get those high head voice notes (All I Ask/Easy on Me) higher and much easier than even say Bohemian and Yellow Brick Road. She has grow so much both as a person and vocally in the last 2 years that I've followed her, it's amazing. Also, Unchained Melody is my parents song so I know this well. They had it on vinyl record at one point.
LOL Angelina is a chameleon, when she covers songs she always pays respect to the original, listen to her singing amy winehouse songs and people think she is similar to amy, she covers adele songs and people see the similarity, same with billie holliday, etta james, etc etc etc. However, i can always pick angelina's voice without looking as she is unique.
So many people do no sort of justice to the original song when doing covers but Angelina improves them. It's beyond astonishing for anyone no matter someone of her age to consistently if not invariably. And she does a lot them seemingly sitting on her sofa so relaxed she could be a child( which she is here of course) singing into her hairbrush. Beyond incredible.
I just listened to Angelina Jordan's cover of Easy On Me (Live from the Studio version) and OMG!!! The Barefoot Princess of Jazz just killed this! You have to react to this song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Mpw5Q76hWWE.html Keep up the great reactions Schnell!
I believe Angelina is 12 yo in both of these performances. Unless she is sick, which she was in some earlier performances, she just never hits a wrong note---pitch perfect. In UM, we see at the end that if she wanted to train her voice for opera, she could pull that off. Angelina is covering Elvis' version of HGTA, and she is singing in the same key as Elvis, who was a baritone at this stage of this career. Let me emphasize that a 12 yo girl is singing in the same key as a baritone. Most grown women could not do that. Along with Elvis and Carry Underwood (ft. Vince Gill), Angelina's rendition of this Wonderful Classic song is my favorite. Angelina personifies the phrase "She's Got It!!"
What a great way to end the work week. I literally just picked my phone up and went to RU-vid, and there you were, Thanks Schnell. We love our barefoot Angel with the Mona Lisa Smile...
