Let's just get it done so we can talk about football. As a packer fan I want a few years of no talking about the QB except his play.

What if Jordan comes back and says I want championships, maybe he takes 50 million a year? Really what’s the difference between living on 50 million a year or 55 million a year. This has gotten ridiculous.
@xuansu9036
@xuansu9036 8 дней назад
He would in that case sign a contract that takes less cap for the next three years, have a huge number for last year, but allows for it to be converted to bonus for the next contract. But total number would still average to 55 mil a year.

the difference is 20 mill over 4 years lol, that’s a lot of money left on the table

I bet they go 57+m over 5-6 years they want to lock him up for as long as they can bc in 2 years that will seem like a bargain I bet Dak gets 60m next extension not that he’s worth it it is what he can squeeze Jerry Jones for 😂 and they have to pay CeeDee and Micah too this year

Couldn’t agree more!! They all have MASSIVE EGOS!!! Mahomes is clearly the best, NOBODY can argue that, and he’s getting paid less than a lot of these guys WORSE than him!!!

Man the amount that QBs are getting paid, Lawrence at 55m come on 😩 I am guessing 57m final number (hopefully less) but we shall see! J Love is our guy and I am so excited for these next few years. GO PACK GO

If you’re going to pay top dollar anyway, why not wait and see if he can repeat the performance from last year then sign a new contract. If he wins a super bowl then give him the big contract he wants now.
@willbennett08
@willbennett08 7 дней назад
That strategy put the Cowboys in cap hell. You think he’s not going to see what other teams offer as an UFA in 2025? If GB franchise tags him, ok, then what? You pay way more after next year. It’s either time to bite the bullet and sign him to a $55m+ deal or figure out a different QB option in the next two years.

how about 8 years and 400 million?? Sure it is a little less per year but nice longevity for the player and the Team.
@xuansu9036

No way he would take that deal. That would mean he’s severely underpaid for the last 4 years of the contract compared to peers. If it’s that long, he would ask for at least 450

If it was guaranteed? Hell yeah , he'd take it. That's a very reassuring contract for a career that has less longevity than some entire sports franchises

With just 5 weeks left until the Green Bay Packers training camp, the anticipation for Jordan Love’s new contract grows. Brian Gutekunst has expressed his desire to secure Jordan Love’s signature before the camp commences, yet time continues to tick away without a finalized agreement. Despite having the opportunity to negotiate for months, the Packers now find themselves under pressure to clinch a deal. Recent lucrative contracts for quarterbacks like Jared Goff and Trevor Lawrence have significantly elevated the market value, adding complexity to Jordan Love’s pending contract. Moreover, the forthcoming contracts for Dak Prescott and Tua Tagovailoa are expected to further inflate the quarterback market, urging the Packers to hamsten their negotiations with Jordan Love. Adam Schefter speculates that Jordan Love aspires to match or surpass Trevor Lawrence’s recent annual average of $55 million, amounting to a $275 million total which currently stands as one of the NFL’s richest quarterbacks deals. Adam Schefter stated on ESPN Milwaukee, that “he doesn’t think that Jordan Love is taking less than Trevor Lawrence, “hinting at Jordan Love’s ambition to become the league’s top-earning quarterback. This expectation places the Green Bay Packers in a tight spot. Jordan Love has demonstrated exceptional talent, particularly during the last half of the 2024-25 NFL season, and a playoff victory against the Dallas Cowboys, hinting at his superstar potential. For Brian Gutekunst and the Green Bay Packers, the stakes are high. With only 1 year left on Jordan Love’s current deal, the urgency to secure his future with the team is paramount. Failing to reach an agreement could expose Jordan Love to free agency, where he would undoubtedly attract considerable interest, leaving the Packers possibly resorting to a franchise tag to retain him a predicament mirroring the Dallas Cowgirls current dilemma with Dak Prescott. As negotiations continue, 1 reality seems increasingly likely if the Packers wish to keep Jordan Love, they may have to meet his lofty financial demands, potentially setting a new benchmark for quarterback contracts in the NFL. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

Let JL enter free agency if he wants......he's acting like AR now and enough is enough. Besides, we have 2 potential superstars behind him.......let him go and if the fans are lucky and get what they want - maybe we can go through this again every other year! Hooray for the braindead fans!!!

I would make him wait if he wants to break the bank . He has been great for half a season . He is under contract for the coming season. He is not going to hold out after only one half of a season of good football because he waited to long for the job and sitting out would make the rest of the league also shy away from paying him what he wants . At this point if you can sign him to $50 mill then do it . But if you have to make him the top paid qb in the league after only 8 great games then make him prove it another year and if he is great again then make him the top paid qb in the league . They have made both Favre and Rodger’s the top paid NfL player in the past once they earned it . But that was not after 8 good games . It was after multiple top rated seasons . Love doesn’t deserve the top QB pay yet .

I'd like to see him get paid, but look at his performance, he wavered early, albeit with a young core group, but rebounded nicely; the one thing he needs to recognize is this, he's potentially the 3rd QB in GB in 30yrs..the money will come, just get it done..

I hope he follows guys like mahomes and Brady and UNDERSTANDS that taking a little less $$$ in order to compete for SUPET BOWLS WAY LONGER!!!! Why is it so important to have $60 million vs 49-50 million ?? It’s still GENERATIONAL WEALTH!!! And you can still have a competitive roster for longer!!! GB is playing with their food to much!!! Should have signed him WEEKS AGO!!!

The NFL is now at the point where one player cannot consume a certain percentage of a teams money. It’s out of hand. And one for offense and one player on the defensive side.

Love does not necessarily want more. He's still new and never dreamed of getting multi-millions of dollars. Every year... I'll tell ya who DOES want more. His agent. And they NEVER have the welfare of their client OR the team in mind. They're just thinking about their cut.

I don’t agree with you. Packers must pay to keep other key players. The more Love gets the less available cap space to keep good players. Yes he should get the most as it is the most critical position, but for cripes sakes he should want the best supporting cast possible to help his success. Think about winning long term. If its ‘only business’ think of that second contract.

NONE of the QB's playing today are worth the money they make. And, how is that Luke, Farrington, etc.....and the fans.......must think that they feel they should be a part of the discussion? It's absolutely none of their business. Why not a base salary for every position in every major sport - and then incentives determine any additional money on top of the base. Of course, the owner's don't have the balls to do this. Starting to look like JL learned a lot more from AR other than football skills. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
@kikayeet41

When are people going to get it that Trevor Lawrence is NOT worth his contract and only harms his team. Just because TL got stupidly Paid doesn’t mean Love deserves more! Love deserves his but ya don’t let a dipstick team gauge what the going price is just because they overpaid! We don’t want an another highest paid QB for another 16 years with little to no postseason success!

In summary the longer the Packers wait, the more Love gets and the less money they'll have for other guys they want to sign!! If Love was a hot stock on the NASDAQ there is not going to be a chance to buy in on a dip because the overall market dips. Goff and Lawrence have set the BOTTOM now in 2024 because we all know Love is better than those two!!

Love has a contract. Play football & earn a better contract for next year. I think Love is awesome! I still wouldn't pay him a dime extra this year. Keep the man hungry! He will still retire wealthy in the end. A huge payout early will do nothing to help this team.
