I liked Isabelles it wasn’t my favorite but the fact Nintendo was liek: Should we give them Isabelle in smash or new animal crossing? Nintendo: Why not both?
@@Vernias that’s ok dude stuff happens. I wish some people had not recorded tbere blythe reactions I was so embarrassed some people reacted so negatively to that reveal.
Oh. My. Goodness. As the first Smash Game I was fully up to date on with directs, announcements, and these reveal trailers, this gives me SO MUCH nostalgia! From the reveal with Inkling’s eye to Mario throwing the Keyblade, this game has been so much fun to journey through.
Nothing will ever top Hero’s trailer for me. He was my most wanted character, and my two favourite Hero’s, Eight and Eleven, are playable. Terry and Kazuya were my second and third most wanted characters, so those trailers are also some of my favourites
Wait, Vernias used to actually have pink hair!? I thought it was just for avatar design! ...also use that kirby vtuber more. 23:35 Wait, now that you mention it, where in the world IS THIS!? I don't remember this stage! It ain't Tomodachi Life!
- I know you skipped it, but Ridley's trailer kinda alludes to Alien with Samus's choice of allies - Mario, a human, and Mega Man, an android. Ellen Ripley had allies of both kinds. - Simon's and Richter's trailer is actually the first time any of us saw Luigi's new Poltergust G-00, which would formally debut to the Luigi's Mansion series in the following year. - Not many watchers paid attention to the fact that Isabelle was talking about the mayor being busy with Smash AND camping. She was referring to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. - I wonder if Petey Piranha was one of the reasons Piranha Plant was made a fighter? Y'know, have another fighter with a Smash-referencing Final Smash. - Fun fact: when Joker was first announced, he had only one Nintendo appearance in Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth on 3DS. He would later show up in Persona 5 Strikers, and then eventually in Persona 5 Royal (Switch port). - "Erdrick" is actually a title, much like Eleven's "Luminary". Ironically, Eleven would earn the title of Erdrick at the end of DQ11, setting up the legacy that Arusu (or his female counterpart) would follow in DQ3. (Oh, right, the Heroes' standard names are Eleven (DQ11), Arusu (DQ3), Solo (DQ4), and Eight (DQ8).) - Almost everybody in Terry's trailer shows up as cameos in King of Fighters Stadium: Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami (The King of Fighters), Ryo Sakazaki (Art of Fighting), Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, and Geese Howard (Fatal Fury). Only Nakoruru (Samurai Shodown) doesn't appear on the stage. - To be fully transparent, I laughed HARD the moment I saw Byleth in the cinematic (same as you), all because I knew the weird stigma that a lot of Smash fans had against Fire Emblem (and Japanese RPGs in general). Sorry. (As for why female-Byleth has her own tagline, it's because her Japanese name actually differs a little from male-Byleth's - Bereto for male, Beresu for female.) (Oh, and Sothis's snark "Too many swordsmen, is it?" is definitive proof that the Smash team is always studying us for comedy material, hehehe.) - Fun fact: Ryo Horikawa, Smash's Captain Falcon VA, hasn't recorded new lines since the first game. He returned for Min Min's trailer. Yup, he re-joined to voice his ramen-slurping. (Oh yeah, the way Ninjara was carrying the invitation reminds me of youths in anime running to school with toast in their mouths. Makes sense, with him being a college student.) - Sephiroth's trailer is LOADED with Advent Children allusions. Not just Cloud's costume and Advent: One-Winged Angel, but also: Sephiroth swirling the dark clouds above, the way he attempts to impale Mario (based more on the Advent Children Complete version), "Stay where you belong, in my memories." "I will never be a memory.", and even the way he wraps himself in his wing after that line. (Though if Sephiroth's blade did hit Mario, wouldn't it just make him bounce away, like every other sword attack did in these trailers?) - "Never expected to see you two again..." is a nod to Xenoblade 2's Land of Challenge, where Shulk and Fiora appear as guest "Blades" (as well as Elma). (If you're talking Mii Fighter costumes, then shouldn't Dunban and Nia count as well?) - Come on, it's Mishima instinct. Well, I mean, Heihachi would also tie his quarry to a space shuttle... - There's a lot of, how to put this, POWER to be felt in Sora's trailer. Seeing Mario walk toward the last ember of the Smash emblem, muster up the courage to grab it and toss it into the air, that Hidden Mickey shown prominently before seeing the rest of the Keyblade, and of course Sora gliding wistfully around to the tune of "Hikari - Instrumental"...and of course, that handshake at the end. (Also, it's odd but wholesome to see Sephiroth simply being part of the group now.) ...And just in case, here's a wish/guess list I have for any potential future Smash. (standard) Captain Toad, Paper Mario, King Boo, Raven Beak, (Gen-9 Pokemon), Alear, Mona, Noah, Legionis, Travis, Shovel Knight, Kris, Filbo, Chell, Sol Badguy (Echo Fighters) Gooigi (Luigi), Ninten (Ness), Impa (Sheik), Morpho Knight (Meta Knight), Dixie Kong (Diddy Kong), Shadow (Sonic), Jeanne (Bayonetta), Octoling (Inkling), Roxas (Sora)
So, for the Gen-9 Pokemon, I'm kinda stuck between two options. 1) Meowscarada (with a possible Terastallization mechanic) 2) Koraidon, with Miraidon as an Echo Fighter, and both powering up with Sunny Day/Electric Terrain And Alear, I can confidently have them alter certain moves by rotating between three Emblems. I'm thinking Sigurd (mobility-focused), Celica (ranged attacks), and Roy (close-range power).
My biggest regret was not recording myself watching King K. Rool’s reveal, I was crying so hard and I was yelling so loud the neighbors probably thought I was getting kidnapped
I know this is a year almost two years after this video came out, but every time I watch each of the dlc characters get revealed, it just made me smile so much, and I remember when I seen the youtube video with the words "Final Presentation" and I remember feeling excited but we seen sora, did I realized, that it was the last time we will see a Sakurai Presents, every time I see the sora reveal, I always cry because it was the last character I ever wanted in smash bros, but I mainly cry because I don't have memories of my exact reactions to each of the smash reveals other than the first, the same year sora was revealed was the same year I had a major concussion and forgot years of my life, and when I seen the sora reveal, I cried because its the last time ill ever see a reveal and the only one ill remember. I know I made this way too long, but I don't care, its not about making a point, its about sending a message, and saying thank you Vernias and honestly thank you Sakurai... my life has only been better since I got into smash again and I started watching smash youtubers.
The second everyone saw Piranha Plant they were like : Oh hey buddy, what are you doing here.... You lost your way for your next game ? Piranha Plant : instantly roll, down tilt Mario and then Foward smashed him Everyone : 🤨🤨🤨🤨😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
I truly am going to miss the hype and excitement I get anytime I hear of a Nintendo direct. It's going to feel weird watching them and not expecting some sort of new character with an amazing reveal and great music. I do hope that whoever takes control of smash bros now will try to replicate the kind of joy I felt during these directs.
@@jefferyoneill1 yeah and it was the first 3D title of the series, and an iconic one at that. I’m surprised more people didn’t recognize the final smash reference considering that.
Joker's announcement was for me the hypest of them all. Just appearing out of nowhere, we just thought it was to inform about a potential Switch port of Persona 5... And then he flips the enveloppe.
56:36 we’ll if you see the gameplay reveal trailer for sora, you see that the smash flame is still lit, so another smash game is possible, or more dlc fighters
Kirby gets hurt: TOP 10 SADEST ANIME MOMENT IN HISTORY 😢😭😢😭😢😭: -10: Kirby gets no drink for his meal -9: Kirby Falls on his face -8 Im to sad to continue 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
i know this comment is super late but steve getting into smash is still the most excited i have ever been in my life(too bad he’s a busted top-tier that blatantly cheats)
I was such big fan kingdom heart it was my child hood I want him so bad in this game It got to point where wanted to get mod for it so my dad pick me up in care he showed me it did not show me title so when saw him I flipped and almost cried in jour
i confess that i only wanted Crash in the game to give an FU to PlayStation (after all, there's already Snake, Cloud, Kazuya, and Alucard as an Assist Trophy) - preferably instead of Byleth, i find it hard to believe that Nintendo picked the DLC inadvance with such a blatant cross-promotion - but the roster we got is just great if i'm being honest, having brought many classic characters together. Maximilian Dood's "Video Games: The Game" definition has stuck with me since he coined it, and for SSBU especially, that's no exaggeration. Sakurai has delivered so much, i'm actually afraid the next Smash entry will be a step down in terms of content.
Tbf in terms of content it can surpass Ultimate Ultimate focused more on quantity and how much they could fit, which is awesome but there are features that sorta feel half baked, especially the single player. Single player in Ult is....not that good, especially compared to Melee and Brawl so that would be a step up, same for fixing older characters' moveset and representation cause someone of these series are either handled poorly or are outdated. Only think that would most likely go down is the number of stages and fighters and spirits probably being cut down, which would suck tho I doubt it'd be the same number as smash 4. Tl;Dr: There are multiple ways to improve on Ultimate besides numbers
