Im here for it =) Im not to worried for Grace , she is a smart kid. I remember years ago she made a post on one of her socials saying something like:" you all support me now but as soon as I do something you dont like you will leave me" Parts of her fanbase seem to struggle with her growing up and want her to stay that cute 12 yr old AGT girl forever.
I was introduced to Grace on AGT like a lot of people who follow her. The four original songs she did on that show gave me a sense of what was to come given the opportunity. As the years have progressed, I was constantly surprised by what she was able to do with her writing. But more than that, I was impressed by how often she does cover songs that are almost always better than the originals. But the one thing that keeps me following her is that she takes the music where no one else seems to go. Lion’s Den is an example of this new genre she’s creating. The music she’s doing is complex and thought provoking, like a poet using her lyrics to mask the meaning of her songs. I literally can’t wait to see what she does next.
She was thrown into success at 12! But she also kept producing amazing works. There is not a bad song shes publishec. But to go from awkward teen to professional musician in a matter of months and watching your friends, your peers are still kids. I hope she goes off radar and sorts it all out. Look at her wiki. “The subtext is the text.” That about sums up the latest phase of Grace’s music. Many of her earlier works had layers of meaning which needed to be peeled back by the listener. Lion's Den is a special song because it deals with a theme so strong, so alive, in the lives of many people, which are the pressures, expectations around themselves, the uncertainties and Grace manages to portray this feeling in a spectacular way, alias this is one of the fantastic features of Grace's work, it puts her on a different level. Lion's Den has all the elements for a good quality song, short lyrics without losing the message, the great instrumental part and Grace's vocals make a good finish and her interpretation is impeccable."Success always"!!!
Grace assured everyone that she's happy and uses her songs to release the feelings she's got bottled up inside. I also believe she is in therapy, or at least she was. What is profound about the content of her message is the fact that at eighteen Grace is totally aware of it all, and put everything to song, I mean everything. Couldn’t agree more. She is one of the best songwriters I’ve come across in a long time. Her writing style reminds me of Grace Potter at times, if you don’t know who that is give her writing chops and VOICE a shot. The fact that she is aware of the almost out of body look at what she’s going through is so beyond her years. She truly is a gah damn gem.

I became a fan watching her on AGT, six years ago(which she won singing original songs) and have followed her ever since. I know I could never have handled the sudden fame and responsibilities the way Grace did at the age of twelve. But somehow she managed to turn out two EPs, a full album, star in two Disney movies, go on her first tour when she was 13, open for Imagine Dragons when she was 14, and has probably written as many unreleased songs as officially released ones. Oh, and she's a professional model as well who is very funny, smart, and personable. An incredible talent who inspires devotion and love from her fans. Hope you'll do more Grace songs in the future; quite a few to choose from and her covers are usually better than the original. Subscribed.
I always wonder how much of a contribution some of the co-writers make on a given song. I've heard that if they change a single word or line, they need to be given credit. We will probably never know if these are 99% Grace or something closer to 50-50. I am guessing closer to the former, but it probably depends on the song.
Her fans recognize what a unique talent and voice she has and her storytelling and singing, and voice, she is unmatched by anyone. My favorite Idol since AGT. She is a little genius. She keeps getting better.

It’s not one of my favorite songs by Grace, but I think it’s a message to her fans to let them know how much pressure they’re creating by putting her on a pedestal. I’d love it if you could react to Intro (Gucci Shoes) from her Letters Vol 1 Album. It really shows off her creative song writing ability.
The thing about Grace that has always been her defining characteristic (to me) is her emotional honesty and ability to convey the emotion, which is exactly what she is still doing.
It seemed like you were a bit worried about her while listening to the song, as I was too. She reminds me of my own tendency to analyze the hell out of everything, without suppressing any of the demons unleashed in the process. But she intuits "happy songs" as well, and has written a buttload of lyrically interesting and musically engaging songs. I've actually never heard one from her I don't like. Plus I just like to hear her unmistakable voice. Enjoyed that reaction - subbed.
this song is so Grace Vanderwal. She is always open and honest with her fans. She admits to having therapy which is very valuable for her. She has the most unique vocal style and writing abilities way above her eighteen years . Grace is headed to superstardom.

That was a great reaction. It was an original and like all her originals the lyrics are hard hitting. I highly recommend her original song So Much More Than This performed live on MTV 4 years ago. Grace is grateful for her early success and fame because it allows her to live in her creativity in a way that a normal life would not allow. But she recognizes that it came at a heavy price. She lost her childhood and from 12 years old she has had trouble getting to sleep without chemical help. She may someday wish that she had never been given the gift of extraordinary talent.
Grace is in fine voice in this one, and we can expect her lyrics to be more real now that she's 18. She's always been a good lyricist but I find she's becoming a lot less cryptic as she tries to figure stuff out. 😎

Man, I am just blown away by your reaction, it was crazy good....Grace has the ability of bringing the emotions out of everybody, she was once quoted as saying, she doesn't understand her own emotions.....well, she may not, but for someone in that position, this girl brings all of the emotion to the table and then some. we also have to acknowledge the pregnant pauses, which I am sure you are aware of, when she is saying nothing, but saying so much at the same time....She writes all of her own material, she is an incredible song writer and performer. All Grace's released songs are Grace's originals, with 2 exceptions. Hideaway, from Wonder Park was written for her for the movie. Grace just came in to the studio to record her voice track and was done in under an hour. "Clearly" has an interesting backstory. Producers Ido Zmishlany and Mike Waters were working on a re-imagining of the Johnny Nash classic and got stuck. They asked then 13 year old Grace for help. Grace contributed the bridge. Of course she was perfect for the song, and the concept for the video us all hers. Only reason it didn't make the album is that Nash was displaced by a hurricane a d they couldn't get clearance in time.

If it isn't a cover then she wrote it. It was written lately that the music industry notice music listeners today have a shorter attention span so the industry will be making shorter songs

@@tomwhite4736 I deleted a 200 word explanation because the more I played it to explain what she was doing the more I realized how many rules she was breaking to make a Pop song. I think it's brilliant and I really can't say what is the definite chorus or which should be included into the verse. To me there seems to be 4 segments to the song. I would leave that up to a music grad to analyze the song. Played it over a few times yourself and see what is the chorus and what are the verses

She was partying and having a good time but now that she has her own place she worries that people will get the wrong impression about her since her songs are so serious. She has been struggling with trying to write a happy song since 2018
I would say she most likely wrote the song being that she writes most of her own music. We love Grace and this song makes me worry for her. It should just be a phase and she should figure it out hopefully.
Yeah she said it was a phase and not to worry about her she's fine, she just likes writing these types of songs. Plus while Grace does covers on IG and has been asked to sing songs for movies and Cartoon features I can't think of a song she released where she didn't write it.
@@kevint.184 yep, everyone knows that she helped a team of writers finish that song. She is proud to say the bridge was hers but I doubt she was going to go so far as to say "I was the one who suggested the word 'it" here and "to" there and "... Most of the JTB album was a team of writers whether she wanted them or not.
