FYI, Dreamcatcher and Ateez share some DNA: 2 producers work with both groups (until recently, one has moved to an exclusive contract with a wholly different entity), and some of their MVs were produced by the same director/production house. Vixx's Voodoo Doll was the first MV to be given a 19+ rating for the gore. The song is actually dark AF - it's about a toxic, abusive relationship that someone feels like they're stuck in (the refrain of "should I stay or should I go"). The song also came out in 2013. Dreamcatcher's Boca is the second song in their Dystopia trilogy - "Boca" is Spanish for mouth and is a direct warning to cyberbullies and those who leave hateful comments that if they can't stop, that Dreamcatcher *will* shut it for them. (the line is "not to open again Boca") LISTEN THERE IS A REASON WE CALL THEM GAYCATCHER OKAY and this is it. You haven't even touched the tip of the Dreamcatcher iceberg yet... welcome to the black hole... er... cult... Dreamworld! (there we go) Also fun fact - Dreamcatcher and Ateez have pretty much the same production team/songwriters. You like Ateez? You'll probably really like Dreamcatcher. My two ult kpop groups are Stray Kids and Dreamcatcher, so the fact that you will now potentially be reacting to both groups gets me pumped - watching ppl react to Dreamcatcher and get blown away is like crack for me. Pirate King was their debut song, and this performance was posted just 2 weeks after their debut, so they absolutely were babies here. Also none of the members were underage at the time of debut. Jongho, the maknae, turned 18 just 2 weeks before their debut, 5 of the other members are a year older then him, and the 2 oldest are both 2 years older then him.

No one is talking about SHINee's "Married to the Music" and that's so sad. That MV was literally Halloween concept and the execution is so good. You cannot miss it.

I love DPR Ian! i would consider him kpop adjacent, he is korean Australian mostly singing in english but he was also part of a kpop group back in the day called c-clown. He is a director editor and song writer all in one, all of his videos(and most of other dpr videos) are directed by him. tbh I'd really love to see a MV reaction to both Bad Boy (you actually cut it off at the best part...won't tell you what it is because pretty sure it sent us all into shambles LOL ) and the MV for Psycho!! The girls are actually *nightmares* and each of their nightmares are represented by their actions in the MV. Jiu - getting chased (chasing the Nightmare Hunter) Sua - unable to move/sleep paralysis (if you notice you never see her moving) Siyeon - trapped in a small room (trapping the Hunter in his room) Handong - being watched (watching him through the peephole and window) Yoohyeon - being lost (changing room numbers) Dami - getting physically hurt (ripping out the eyes) Gahyeon - falling from heights (shoving books off a high shelf)

DPR IAN started in kpop with DPR LIVE but is from Australia so his songs are in English except when they feature korean artists like DPR LIVE. He’s bipolar and a lot of his songs talk about his experience living with it and it has helped me a lot with accepting my diognosis that I got a year ago. He’s my absolute favorite artist and I’m going as Mr. Insanity to a halloween party❤

I cannot recommend dreamcatcher enough for spooky vibes!! If you get the time, also purple kiss and pixy. All three groups are known for their spooks. If you need specifics, for dreamcatcher I'd rec piri, you and I, and scream. For purple kiss and pixy just about anything works lol, they don't have nearly as many songs and almost all of them are horror-esque

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

Dreamcatcher's music is quite literally unskippable. If you're a fan of bands, Rolling Quartz is an amazing rock band and they did a really nice cover of Good Night by Dreamcatcher. I am so excited you are reacting to Ateez (seriously there is so much too tier music but I feel like bouncy, halazia and deja vu would make you happy) and Dreamcatcher (Piri, BEcause, Scream and the Red Sun performance video so good.) Stray kids, Ateez and Dreamcatcher are my faves and really they are all amazing music all the time! Highly recommend purple kiss (zombie, memem and sweet juice especially) and (G)I-dle (Put it Straight Nightmare version and Oh My God)! Discovering new kpop is so financially dangerous but emotionally and musically satisfying! Enjoy the journey!

Dreamcatcher is my Ult Group in all of K-Pop. I REALLY hope you will continue reacting to them. 'Chase Me' was their Debut song and it began the Nightmare Series, which was seven MVs in total which are all related to that first one in some ways. The next MV in the series is called 'Good Night' which picks up directly after 'Chase Me' but keep in mind, there are a couple of B-Sides you would be skipping over if you go directly to that. The story gets confusing but that is okay, that is why it ended up SO LONG. Between everybody in the fandom, we are about 90% sure that we have the story figured out and we can help you with that if you want. There are even fan-made videos for all the theories. The Nightmare Series videos were each Title Tracks for Single albums or EPs or Mini-Albums. The group did not get a Full Album until a few years later but it finally did happen and they are GREAT, of course. Their B-Sides are not all Rock, there is one that is even a lullaby, and is even called 'Lullaby'. Their discography has no genre limits and frequently fuses genres. They have SOMETHING for EVERYBODY. They even have some sigh language in at least one of the MVs that shows the choreography; they REALLY STRIVE to be All-Inclusive. (I know you will like this) this group supports the LGBT community, when MOST other Korean artists (whether Music, Visual Arts or Actors) are not allowed to even talk about the subject, let alone be supporters. Dream Catcher Company is REALLY COOL, actually a giant 'chosen family'. You just can't go wrong with this group. :)

DPR IAN (Christian Yu) falls somewhere between K-pop and something else entirely. He used to be part of a K-pop group called C-CLOWN, so he has the formal training it takes for that kind of debut. However, he now writes, produces, conceptualizes, directs & performs his own stuff with the help of the Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) team. All of his music is great and his videos are highly theatrical and have very interesting visual direction. The characters you see in Don't Go Insane are recurring characters that exist throughout the running storyline in his videos, and they represent parts of himself and his own experiences with his mental health. His songs are all in English, as he is originally from Australia. If you enjoyed Don't Go Insane, I really recommend checking out his other stuff! It all starts with the MV for So Beautiful. :)

Vixx came out during the third generation of kpop (2010-until 4th gen) and kpop was a different monster back then. The before bts boom I guess. They were cool for having a horror concept, but also their concept kept changing so they were fun to follow. It brings me back watching that video with you. I loved this video! Siyeon; the one with high note in Dreamcatcher is a fans of Ateez. Both Ateez & Dreamcatcher fans called Siyeon (Dreamcatcher) & Seong Hwa (Ateez) as 'Cousin' because they almost look alike & have the same on-stage personality.

Ok so you want some fruity kpop options I got you! First shutdown by Moonbyul. Queen made a whole song about lesbian sex and just moved on with her life. Heart attack by Chuu. Super cute she has a crush on a girl in the mv. Oh my god by (g)idle. Some people claim it’s not about some wlm shit but they’re wrong. The be series by OnlyOneOf. It’s a series of 6 songs exploring mlm relationships and each set of mvs follows two of the members as a couple. OnlyOneOf also has a couple others like libido and skins. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head but it’s a solid start!

Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) is a Korean based company with different artists under it. DPRIan typically only sings in English, but I think DPRLive sings in Korean. Plus, Ian was originally a member of the Kpop boy group C-Clown (under the name Rome) before DPR became a thing.

This was so fun, watching you lose it over both the girls and boys was a trip and so relatable 🤣 I like to think of Dreamcatcher as Korea's answer to what would happen if you tossed Babymetal, Twice, and Nightwish in a blender and put a nice kpop gloss over it. Which, to be clear, i mean in the best way bc damn do those ladies kill it. I know you're probably drowning in recommendations and apologies in advance if you're already aware of them, but I feel like you'd looove Xdinary Heroes. I have a few selling points that might entice you: 1. They're a band (yes, instruments and everything) with JYPE, the same company as Stray Kids. 2. When I saw how much you loved the clown-coded makeup in Circus I immediately thought of XH's debut single Happy Death Day. Just trust me, you'll die. Plus it's such a delightfully weird, dark but boppy debut song. 3. They're all excellent musicians and their 2 lead vocals are legit some of the best korean singers I've ever heard. 4. Their fandom name is Villains, which imo is the most metal fandom name in kpop. 5. So far they've got 4 no-skip mini albums, plus the debut single, and a bunch of really great covers (including one of Stray Kids' Hellevator). Their latest comeback just started a couple weeks ago with Break The Brake, which is probably their heaviest and most explicitely metal-influenced song yet, and in the rest of their discography they've played around with pop punk, hair metal, ska, industrial, emo, alternative, and soft rock sounds. The members have really broad music tastes ranging from kpop to Greenday to 5 Seconds Of Summer to Imagine Dragons to Muse to Bring Me The Horizon and beyond, which comes across in their tracks. 6. They haven't done anything exactly Halloween themed, but most of their discography (especially the 2nd album Overload) has this kind of funky, Tim Burton-esque sound to it bc they're not afraid to play around with weird noises and effects while still keeping it very instrument-focused. I'd especially recommend Pirates, Man In The Box, Come Into My Head, Xmas (not an actual christmas song, I promise), Crack In The Mirror, Ghost, and of course Happy Death Day. 7. They're just a very sweet, silly bunch of dudes (and all adults, thankfully) who so clearly love music and performing. Rockstars on stage, total doofuses off. For birthdays they have a tradition of singing Happy Death Day as the birthday song, then they all gather around the birthday boy and give him a kiss (on the forehead and cheeks, usually devolves into them hilariously blowing raspberries on wherever they can reach lol). 8. Sadly JYPE has largely given them the shaft when it comes to promotions and support so they aren't nearly as big as they deserve to be. It's like they're stuck in this gray area where they're styled and promoted very much like a kpop group, but their sound is definitely not the standard kpop sound and they don't have the advantage of getting attention thru dance challenges and such. So I just wanna sing their praises whenever I can and do my teeny little part in getting them the love they deserve.

DPR IAN is such a journey with every MV as well as just a song. I love how I feel so in "vibe" after his new songs drop. I'm always listen to it on a loop for a week or so. It's a different genre on it's own. It's his and only his, I hear couple of beats and I know it's his, same with like Taemin. It's like Michael Jackson of kpop (as in an icon). Also, ATEEZ guys were all dancers before their debut so that's why they were amazing even 4 years ago.

But I was shocked about you stopping in the middle of Red Velvet's Bad Boy you definitely missed out on a specific part and I mean it's kind of Halloweenish "Did you guys just want me to react to this because it's fruity."
