you would be surprised at the amount of demolition machines that have bulletproof glass. one of my friends mows the trees down around railroad sidings with a big skidsteer and grinder. one day he was mulching up a hobo camp and a guy comes out and shoots at him with a pistol. the bullets bounced off the front glass and he chased after him with the skidsteer till the rail cops came from the other end of the site
I'm in demo and have been in equipment for a while in different areas and I've never come across bullet proof glass. I've only heard of that on military equipment. We do however use pretty thick glass with steel guards and steel mesh on our excavators tho
@@fvckinfool101I agree with you sir I’ve been around my fair share of demo equiqment and rock breaking machines in pits I’ve never seen bullet proof glass on one. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but in my region of Canada it’s extremely uncommon.
You were right, hydraulic cranes don't have freespool on the winches, so they can't drop things, but conventional (friction) cranes can. Air braked trailers made before 1973 didn't have to have spring brakes, so they can roll free until the air lines are hooked up.
What’s also interesting about the bond 320 is that the whole thing was operated via remote control, so although bond was moving the controls it was all actually being done by remote. Its a 977 mid 70s i drove my share of them it will pull a loaded dump truck or concrete truck loaded .Not bad power wise not as much power like 973 k i drive now.
Seeing that big a digger moving that fast? Yeah that would be awesomely impressive for sure. Scary too, but highly impressive. Scary in that one of the thoughts I'd have is that the drives are busted/free spinning and gravity has taken over while it's on a incline. Another movie to review for construction equipment, Carnisaur. The skid steer fight at the end is laughably bad.

Making right-handed and left-handed excavators would be unneccessarily costly and complicated, not just in manufacturing and service, but also if an operator came across a wrong-handed-for-them excavator, they'd have a heck of a time adjusting. It's not worth it for everyone as a whole. The only reason for left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive in CARS is because of road layouts / rules, which excavators don't use.
The moment the train was split in half the breaks would apply fully as at the loses of line pressure it applies all breaks as hard as possible as a safety system.
An old old truck trailer like in Tremors might not actually be equipped with brake Chambers with parking brakes. I've actually seen a few '70s trailers still on the road without park brake Chambers.

Later into that crane scene in Terminator 3, they drop the hook down a manhole, and it completely flips the crane upside down. It's good stuff. Another good scene, in Die Hard With A Vengeance, when they use the tunnel mining equipment to drill a hole in the gold vault. Last Action Hero, also has some more crane hijinks.
