It's crazy how much a single, random tweet that simply stated, "I used a smurf account, and my games instantly became insanely easier. Turns out MMR actually does exist and the survivors I'm going against are actually very good at the game." and a couple comments of True simply stating that smurfing is a thing that exists in DbD stirred so many into a frenzy. Like, he never accused anyone, never named names, never told his chat to harass anyone, etc, and yet he's still getting dogpiled by the community for, "sending harassment towards them". He never even stated that 99% of content-creators use smurf-accounts, just that 99% of the content that *he sees personally* is survivors easily beating killers with little-to-no effort. That's not accusing anyone of smurfing.
MMR is totally random, there is no buffer, it’s just decent players thrown in with the occasional swf. Nobody gets amazing teams over and over again, there’s no MMR for that in place.
@@DannyFarewest Will have to disagree. There are multiple games out there that will put you in games with people way below ur mmr because they dont want ppl stuck in lobby forever. It is not abnormal, it is actually quite normal for games to do this because the idea is to reduce queue times as much as possible.
@@DannyFarewest Hackers have literally went into and dissected the system and shown receipts to multiple content creators objectively proving you're talking our your arse, mate. Coconut even INTERVIEWED one of them like a year ago. The gap between low and high is very steep and a lot of people who think they're in mid are actually in low. The problem is that the gap between MIDDLE and high is not very steep, and worse off, the game is very, very, VERY bad at allowing MMR rating to reduce for any reason. It doesn't bleed, there's no decay over time or between seasons, and once you're in high MMR even for a single match, its almost impossible to get the system to spit you out back into lower ranges. That's why high level players inevitably end up complaining about this shit. They DO often get amazing teams over and over again, and they could sit for days throwing matches to try and get kicked down into the lower tiers of MMR and the system still wouldn't actually let them, so they have no recourse but to just accept it, or stop playing.
@@heeroyuy9925 matchmaking is weird, from an algorithmic perspective. if the ONLY thing you care about is short queue times, then simply as soon as there is enough people in queue for a match, you can start. skill isnt taken into account here, there is no MMR, just purely first come first served matchmaking style. if the ONLY thing you care about is skill brackets, thats when you have MMR, and each game is a specific "rating", where the player's rating is within x amount of the game rating. the issue here is, depending on how you implement your MMR, you could have 200 players waiting in a queue, but no games start, because their skill level is too different according to the game. but in reality, players want both a short queue time AND skill based matchmaking. so the devs implement this: depending on how long the player has been in queue, the potential difference between a match rating and the player rating changes: if the player has been in a queue for a long time, he eventually has the possibility of matching with people quite vastly different in skill level. the issue is: if there are no players of similar skill level in the queue, the player is now waiting LONGER for what the first implementation would do INSTANTLY. So, if there are no players of similar skill level in the queue, why is the player waiting? well, because the player is the odd one out: everyone else can be matched with players of similar skill, and it goes against the principle to simply throw in this player of different rating. there is also the chance that other players that are of similar skill level to the player will join the queue, and they can start a match. so how can you solve this issue? you dont. thats the short answer. if you want PURELY skill based matchmaking, then you will have to have crazy long queue times, because ONLY people of similar level will be able to play with you. if you want PURELY fast queue times, then skill must be ignored, and just literally have the first come first served principle. if you want BOTH: well you cant. you have to sacrifice (to some extent) one or the other. game companies want you to play their game, so they usually sacrifice skill based matchmaking (as explained earlier) to ensure that games happen if there are enough players. this way of matchmaking isn't going to change anytime soon. The issue dbd seems to have is that it EITHER cannot accurately define a player's skill level OR it expands its gap between skill levels far too quickly, resulting in many games with large skill rating differences.

I feel like the hate for Tru3 comes from him being a very competitive player coming from fighting games where balance is one of the most important factors, who plays public match DBD. He sees all the imbalances which many players also talk about and points them out every time. Unlike other players who focus on playing fun/gimmicky builds and try not to pay attention as much attention to all/smaller imbalances tru3 naturally sees and points them out every time. This can be seen as very whiny/negative/egotistical when in reality tru3 is just a naturally competitive player who plays a game that doesn’t work as well the more competitively it’s played. I feel if he wasn’t a streamer he’d just play other games suited to him like the fighting games he sometimes plays. Dbd mainly works for more casual players and it can only be played competitively when players make their own rules in custom lobbies.

JRM is cool, but I've had an odd feeling about Ayrun for a while now. He's a really good player, but when something doesn't work out he goes hard on excuses like OP perks, broken powers, bad connection, etc.

So, Ayrun accuses Tru3 of bullying newbies with a new account. The account was for testing MMR as stated by Tru3 his stream title reflected he was on a Smurf. Ayrun has a Hardcore series where he has done this multiple times with friends. No Self Awareness? Hypocrisy? Guess he realised this and deleted his comment. Also, he dragged his friends into it by saying he vouches for them not smurfing when the same evidence that implicates him also implicates them as being complicit in the act. Total foot in mouth moment, trying to paint Tru3 as the villain for "dividing the community." Ayrun has made himself a villain because of this deceit.

Oh man, Tru3 proving he is always the right side of DBD history. When he did the Smurf test, I thought chill people like JRM would just say “XD” and continue. But now we got Ayrun, one who is always talking with people like Otz about the state of DBD, basically outing the entire circle jerk of small channels. This is incredible, DBD is “medium” size community with “weak” community members. The reaction that the Smurf test by these creators are a little kid version of what happens in COD. Because in COD there are many streamers, including the most popular ones, who cheat. And they jump at every opportunity to protect and deny cheating allegations against their circle jerk groups.
And here is a second bomb shell. DBD isn’t half as interesting as it used to be. So back when it was interesting, there was this content creator called “TydeTime”. He discovered the bully survivor channels and noticed how they would all De-rank in order to do their content. It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes logic to see this as a selling point of adding MMR instead of rank system. The switch was a Win/Win for the Fog-smurfers and the devs. The smurfers will do their thing without an easy visual showcase of what they are doing. And BHVR devs no longer have to do reworks about how the system works. Like they used to, the emblem reworks of forcing 9 hooks + 4K for Iri emblem, or how the double pip would move to requiring better emblems as you moved to better colors. Thanks to MMR, de-ranking changed and now the smurfs are protected. Before, it was just checking a number, but now it’s checking telltales on gameplay. But sadly, DBD community, if we can’t reach a conclusion in topics like “what is a win”, “hook vs kill”, etc. Will you trust them to determine the skill level of gameplay?

It also is lacking because how the hell do you determine what is "skill" as a survivor in order to give an accurate reading?

As a fan of your content i can say your sometimes a bit dismissive of others takes and can come off as having a bit of an ego but most of the arguments i hear from people talking about you are down right wrong. I can understand why people might find you rather abrasive but for people to argue things like brainwashing is ridiculous
i feel like theres several layers to this hatred, i think his personality is something they dont know how to deal with, being abrasive as it is. but theres also something to be said about mob mentality and how they hate people just because their friends do.
Been watching Tr3e for years now and I have to say while he can come off confident with his opinion of a game he as A LOT of hours in. He’s right and people don’t have to agree. I think part of Ayrun and other's salt comes from the fact that your content is more straightforward, to the point, with no smoke and mirrors. You really do just say whats on your mind, you dont overhype yourself, and you acknowledge good plays on average about every 30 seconds (i know because ive watched you for 5 years). I've been watching TrU3 for over 8 years now. Since wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back. Feels like yesterday I was watching him play against and with the OG spirit, being excited to hit great skill checks, and cleansing totems for points. Time moves fast.

I'm a good judge of character and it has not let me down once in +35 years. Tru3 and many others who have any opinion that differ from the mass are always going to be easy targets. Avoid them, be you. Ignoring them is the best course of action and blocking any form of contact, attention seekers ruin themselves with time. Every year they hit their low viewer point (down to the game going through a stale time period) and will drum up drama to royal up the fanbase for clicks and that sweet sweet revenue. When someday, i hope they learn they're nothing more than a tool for them to earn income, they may develop their own way of thinking.

I've felt for a long time that people just take Tru3's no nonsense takes on things and feel insulted by them and try to make him an enemy, despite the fact he's usually, if not always right, or MOSTLY right. A lot of people AGREE with Tru3's takes, btw, or at least take some time to come to the same conclusions, that has been happening since the God damned start of this, yet he's still hated.

I know this for a fact because the developers mention this when MMR was created if you team up with a low MMR player, there is a high chance you’ll end up playing a killer on his level and a lot of these guys do that but they won’t talk with them on discord .

dude I've been following from a very early time, they clearly don't watch your content or care what you actually have to say. they just want drama. you've always voiced your opinion and said that it was your opinion, that's why i love the content you create. people these days just cant take criticism even when its healthy for the growth of a potentially fantastic game. I typically disagree with Tru3 on a lot of things but it's silly to think he's attempting to brainwash people into a toxic mindset. People are doing themselves a disservice by constantly harassing him. He advocates for a playstyle that is enjoyable for both killers and survivors. Even if you don't like his bluntness, I'm sure you'd agree that a 12 hook game is much more enjoyable for everyone than a 'tunnel one survivor out' game and the game could incentivise hooking more. My main criticism of Tru3 is that in recent years, the main content around DBD becomes filled with dialogue addressing harassment or reiterating negative topics. I wish that he could put it behind him, ignore the comments and stop responding to prompts about the topic of harassment. If you don't enjoy his streams/content because of this, before you make up your mind about him I encourage you to watch his Decieve Inc or Street Fighter content. Yes its still competitive, but the experience highlights his healthy and experimentative approach to bettering himself at video games. I first started watching his informative content to learn how to play killer in DBD years ago and I found it to be the most helpful at the time. Yes, the mood has gotten more negative in the last couple of years but we are perpetuating it by harassing him. He is someone you want in your community and it would be amiss if we lost another content creator from the DBD space simply because of a lack of mutual respect and understanding.
I agree with everything you said. Tru3 has addressed why he's gotten so much more negative in the past. I don't remember when exactly it was (The man spams the hell out of YT with Twitch VoDs nowadays), some time last year. The jist of it was that he has a deep emotional attachment to DBD because he's been there since the beginning and he built most of his streaming career on top of it. He genuinely loves the game and just wants to see it be the best it can be. And thus, the years of watching BHVR's incompetence, unwillingless to listen to feedback, outright ignoring the game's best players who understand its meta and balance far, far, FAR better than they do, and at times, tendencies to outright gaslight the community, have severely dampened his spirits in regards to the game. He knows that DBD will never become what it should be able to become. He knows that nothing he says will change anything. But, that can't erase the feelings he has for the game. Thus, its locked him into a somber state of mind. Or, TL;DR, his relationship with the game at this point is basically "I wish I could quit you." Hense why whenever he moves to other games, however briefly, his mood and demeanor improve tenfold. Because he doesn't have that lingering emotional connection to those games dragging him down continuously.
True talent and Otz are the only 2 RU-vidrs are trust their opinions and content on dbd despite the fact I stopped playing, and like another comment said tru has plenty of times given respect to a good player, he knows the game and it’s a realist and tells it how it is, his job isn’t to sugarcoat it. The example i always use is the "hole the killer", i have like 4k hours and i think i been holed once when i had like 40h, i play 50-50 probably on the max mmr bracket too with most killers, maybe 2 or 4 missing. And not entirely sure on survivor since solo queue still gives me the random teammate that doesnt work on gens, always hide,etc, makes me wonder if im really on the max mmr bracket but im probably am. MY POINT: Maybe i saw a few "hole the killer" when mmr wasnt a thing, but after it i NEVER, NEVER SAW A SINGLE HOLE, and a killer with my hours too, NEVER BEEN HOLED. So now i gotta believe most surv oriented creators can do 1 hole or 2 hole per video??? Thats literally imposible, UNLESS, you know what.
JRM spends a whole stream just doing that and loses quite a bit because he's goofy but he does not claim to be good at the game, he explicitly says he plays for the memes.
@@leontiusrufus i can get behind that, thats why i never said the name of the creator that focus on my example, the point remains in that a lot of killers for other surv creators DO LOOK HOLEABLE. Lets not use that example then, 90% of the time when i encounter a doc, and also when tru3 does. That doctor KNOWS the timing to get the hit on pallet that is docs specialty. With other creators i almost never see that, instead the doc fails most shocks and get the timing on the 10th attempt. Repeat the 2 previous paragraphs with ALL killers. Sniper huntresses, God blights, god nurses, nemmys that always strife the tentacle,etc. I no longer can find a newbie killer yet some content creators find tons of them, weird.

They hate being challenged and they find it offensive for people to be competitive or to have views that isn't their own. This is an ongoing problem in the world, and sadly the DBD community seems to have many people with these idiotic world views where competition is bad, they are offended over everything, they can bully you but not the other way round, and so on. Don't listen to the hate, good players actually know you aren't spreading hate, because the people that think you are, are the exact same people who won't be able to answer a basic question like "Why is SWF unbalanced" instead they'll start crying and harassing you because they can't answer it. After finishing the video... wow. Genuinely speechless at this guy. Sounds like he's just trying to get into the good books of all the more popular people imo. And isn't it funny why MMR is hidden? The likelihood of that is due to the fact that these people do MMR drop, so if we had visual MMR, all of a sudden these content creators look like idiots, and DBD loses players, therefore losing profit. I can't believe people can't see this shit clearly, it's actually infuriating. Top MMR is so obvious to spot, and as you said, you always point it out - when gens are popping despite fast downs, etc, it's clearly a high MMR game. These guys watches videos called "MAKING KILLERS DC XD" and then cry about a divise in the Community when they treat Killer Players like sh*t both on videos or on the Forum. Those guys have a very specific name very popular right now, but I can't say it else everybody will suddenly be on high alert.
You're spot on about the "bully you but not the other way around" thing, the guy's entire channel is based around that concept. The DBD community is full of cry bullies, people who take joy in hurting other people but immediately cry and get angry when somebody pushes back.
The only reason they dislike Tru3 is because of his ability to articulate an argument on balance in an educated manner. These Tweets are made after the copium runs dry.
Fake people will always hate on the people who are real and not a fake personality for views and who are to weak to discuss things like adults. Tru3 made me the killer I'm today in this game. The way he teaches and explains the games strength and weaknesses is next level.

Like you said, a good killer will never chase a survivor for 5 gens. Yet somehow a ton of Ayruns and other survivors content is them looping the bad killer that are smacking walls and getting spun around. For 5 gens. The only way to get killers like that is smurfing or deranking.
Yeah but there is no way there are gonna derank off stream it will take far too long but they could smurf or even throw their matches on stream to keep lower mmr. Also vpn to certain countries at certain times will give you some questionable games also
TrU3's community might be full of jerks, and his mods are certainly power tripping, but he himself is a straight up guy who keeps it real and tells it like it is. I'm with him on this. Let me make this real simple. Experienced killers (especially nurses) don't get looped for 5 gens at the same tile, or fall for a 360 seven times in a row just before getting holed in the RPD library to the sound bite of Mario going down a pipe. Anyone with a brain and a pair of eyes can tell that this content is staged, or at the very least cherry picked. And only idiots, or people who bank off it, would try to claim that it's anything other than what it clearly is. Saying that it's 99% is obviously just a figure of speech and possibly a slight exaggeration to drive home the point. It's crazy how they choose to zero in on that exact number and launch and entire campaign to slander one guy for having a legit opinion, but then again this is the DBD community. They are only crying about it so much because the TrUth hurts, and you hit a nerve. You can buy an unlocker tool one time from $10-$90 which (depending on the tier) could potentially give you everything in the game, including all perks, items, add ons, offerings, characters, cosmetics, and even all max prestriges. Even if you got banned on that account, you could easily make another one for $4 and use the same unlocker tool. Every new account starts at 650 MMR. You would need to 4K or escape anywhere from 50 to 100 games in a row before you are back at top MMR. There are also unlockers which literally show you the MMR of the lobby. Unfortunately I have no idea where to get one of these unlockers. Too bad there aren't more people like TrU3Ta1ent in the DBD community, who aren't afraid to speak their minds freely, and stand strong for what they believe; who refuse to back down, or bow down to the hypocritical cowards and bullies. You might not like me TrU3, but I've always appreciated you and the raw TrUth you bring to a community full of toxic degenerates. You shine a light on the disingenuous pretenses they so desperately try to conceal, and that's why they hate you. You are far better than them, not just in a game, but as a human being.
It made me laugh when Otzdarva commented that Truetalent had more difficult matches in the "30 second AFK challenge". I watched the entire series for both players and saw it instantly. Most people wont because they want to see a bias against True. Within the last month I know Hens made a smurfing video where he played a smurf Bill to try and get tunneled. I have no idea why people seem to want to put all the blame on Truetalent.

They'd use every trick in the book to make the match as insufferable as possible and then let me kill me them all at the end to most likely skew the data. There's definitely a portion of this player base that has always been more interested in gaming the system for lolz than actual gaming.

But from an outside perspective it will "look" like the killer is really bad due to the insane gap in skill Ayrun has on them, a gap he will have vs literally 99.5% of public killers.
at 13:35, what's wrong with that comment is that: not all SWF are using the 'edge' to win. I suspect a ton of SWF are mates bantering and having fun while just playing DBD. Punishing people for playing with friends is a bad idea because people are less likely to want to play with their friends. Despite it being tougher to balance, what they need to do is bring solo-Q up closer to SWF and then nerf BOTH solo and SWF. That way people won't become bitter. Again, don't ever punish players for brining more people in to play a game, that's the easiest way to kill a game. I don't wanna play DBD on my own, but I also don't want to be punished for playing with my mates (we are all terrible). If this would ever happen we would find something else to play where the devs aren't screwing us over for playing with friends. In the end, the action debuff is going to rub people the wrong way, yes it might be "balanced", but people will not enjoy the fact that this 'balance' is focused on people playing with friends. The action debuff for SWF would only be acceptable for people who are competitive in mindset and actually want to play hard to win. Plus doing the proposed change will just make people more likely to do match making tampering to avoid the SWF penalty.

If you dont play for a while your first matches put you up against new killers aswell. If you have a rotation of accounts set up, you could easily smurf around the clock.
tbh i was streaming the other day and im a new killer all my hours are put in survivor and i want to start learning killer, and had 5 people come into my live telling me they was smurfing because its "fun" so their idea of "fun" is to disadvantage killers who are simply learning from the bottom up, like getting used to movement in 1st person view, time management as gens can be done quite quickly so its trying to pressure the map also. they are the only 3 key things that newer killers should be learning, not going up against people who are uncounterable and making new killers not want to play anymore, i felt very defeated, and not to mention that these smurfers started critisizing my use of perks, use of power and everything else, forgetting that i am a low MMR killer and THEY are the ones smurfing.
Here's the thing: everyone goes against bad killers once in a while. Doing well against a killer, running killers for 5 gens, it's undeniably one of the most fun things to do in dead by daylight. It's also one of the most entertaining things. Even at max mmr it happens, if you look at all of the games Tru3 has played on vods or on youtube, you'll see bad killers making lots of mistakes. It's simply because mmr only correlates to skill, it's not a foolproof thing. Sure, some people do smurf, but I'm positive that the majority of youtube content is not from smurf accounts, it's just from the occasional skill disparity that can occur with this mmr system. Additionally, JRM, Ayrun, Skerms, and more are very very good survivors. Ayrun has won a ton of competitive tournaments. This just makes it more jarring when you see a killer that isn't good in a lobby with them. But it's good content, and I see no issue with youtubers posting those occasional games where they're able to pull off a bunch of cool shit. Ayrun also has videos against very decent killers, has videos where he plays killer, and collabs with other content creators. All of these videos do very well, similar to his videos with lower skilled killers. I don't agree with any hate being spread to any of these content creators, it's just poor taste. Tru3 has some very good takes, some that are more controversial, but people need to just debate respectfully instead of insulting and belittling.

I've always felt ayrun was trying to fill n00b3 shoes when he left. I never really liked his content, noob3 was by far one of the best and funny creators on dbd, he is what made me get into dbd.

Just a couple of days ago, I faced a deranker killer vs a deranker survivor in one of my matches and it was kind of a hilarous interaction, the surv trying to dye and the killer trying to let the surv escape.

One time i did an experiment where i purposely lost all my matches one day when i first started learning nurse got so far down in the mmr i was literally going against people with no perks and maybe 100hrs of game play. In a way i smurfed to learn how to play nurse. So i dont see why smurfing would be hard to do. I know this isnt what true is talking about. But just thought i would share an experiment that i have done with dbd.
I've been watching you for years, Tru3. I love your content, I learned to play well from you. I'm actually in one of Rapidmain's videos as a Nemesis player and he cuts it to make me look really bad, he does pull some things on me but completely leaves out of the video that I caught him twice and his second hook was in the absement but I LET HIM GO but makes it look like some sort of epic thing.
You don't need to create smurfs to vs killers you can run for 3-5 gens because most killers in the highest MMR bracket are completely terrible when compared to good players. Most killers you go against in public games, especially if they're m1 can be ran for 5 gens if they commit to you, which they won't do very often but it's still very much possible. If you play relatively safe you can have them on a game-long chase because they don't know how to zone, they're not actually focused on the game the same way an actually highly skilled player can be and their map pressure is bad, not only because their killer of choice is weak but because they don't know how to predict rotations, they don't know how to make correct decisions once they have a hook and their skill in chase is very lackluster, which is why these kinds of killers have a hard time securing more than 3 stages against any team that isn't completely incompetent.
Tru3, don’t bother listening to these people. You’re one of the only few genuine content creators that speaks the truth about the balance and situation of this game. I saw the debate/conversation you had with otz a couple of months ago, and I must say that you were right about 70-80% the time in the entire video. People just don’t want to admit certain aspects about this game, because they know that if they would be confronted with the truth, it would destroy their entire delusions and the hypocrisy they create through the unbalance this game has. So pls keep doing what you can in these tough times

Only thing i agree with is that the "99% yt content" tweet should have been worded better i guess but i mean your viewers, me included know you meant what you see on your feed because you already talked about it on stream. Still this reaction to a single random tweet is crazy man haha.
Tru3 and Otz in my opinion are the GOATS of DBD. This is how content creators should be. Its funny how all these other content creators are complaining about toxicity by responding with toxicity. Hate the DBD community but love this one, along with Otz.
To try and be unbiased I will say this first, Tru3 definitely could phrase some of his tweets better. That tweet could be interpreted as 99% of creators smurf, some of his others have come off as aggressive, not saying they are but people are quick to assume things. It can also affect Tru3's fanbase, there are some people who will attack other creators after hearing what he says (now these people are dumb Tru3 never wants his fans to go after people). And someone going against the norm of the community makes them stick out and a target for rudeness. That being said the amount of videos people make on a guy they simply don't agree with is sickening. He has his takes, he has a vision to improve the game, it is not the definitive way of making the or breaking the game. Tru3 is very competitive and seeks to make dbd competitively balanced whilst many others like the chaos of the imbalance. Also there are some content creators who do spend their time using random builds to screw with weaker killers. I don't believe Ayrun smurfs but I have seen him face both strong and weak killer players and a couple times he has faced weak ones while using his phrase "oh this guy is really good". If people don't agree with Tru3, just leave him be, and if you're a fan of Tru3 like I am, let's not go after other creators cause that helps nothing.
Tru3, I am a one who joined a lobby against you multiple times, and I can review the amount of MMR you had, you were at the top back then, I don’t know about know, But you were at the highest, not the 1% but closely, - knowing that no one have top 1% MMR consistently- and everyone match up to closer MMR’s.
The way Tru3ta1ent is calm, collected and the ability to stay on point is inspiring. These tweets/comments are all blown way out of proportion and twisted, taken out of context. Meanwhile Tru3ta1ent is chill, bobbing and weaving through everything having a blast. Man we all need to just chill and try to have fun.

For the max mmr or survivor smurfing button meme, they are saying how can you be max mmr but the survivors also be smurfing. But I think that just comes down to what you consider smurfing to be. Technically someone having two separate accounts, one account would be considered a smurf no matter what MMR the second account is in.
Its crazy how they come for you. You can tell they dont watch you at all. On top of that when i watch these other streamers RU-vid videos when i see what they are doing, i never say "oh that was a good play against a good killer" my main reaction 90% of the time is "that'll never work against an experienced killer". Its not your fault that all the content they post is bullying inexperienced killers.
