When you look at this in detail little things emerge. I may be wrong but at 3:17 It seems like he holds the car at max revs in 5th gear for an extra moment, waiting to shift to 6th gear right before the car compresses at the bottom of the hill. It helps squat the car and keeps it from going too light as he crests the top of the hill and then "jumps" the next curb. Truly amazing.
*steps out of his F1 car after taking pole* *Does press & team obligations* *Steps in motorhome* 'Nice rig build in here guy's, let's give it a try' *Races right up to top level and wins with team in Iracing*........ *Wins F1 race next day while watching Netflix serie in his F1 car, while he didn't had the fastest car on grid* Just unbelievable
I just can't imagine being in a normal session just wanting a relaxing race thinking I might maybe win or come close for a bit of fun after a long day's work, then seeing that "Max Verstappen has joined the session" little popup, I think I'd probably say my goodbyes at this point
Most of the guys in the top split (highest MMR) take the game just as seriously as Max would, if anything it would pump them up and make them want to push harder knowing someone like him is amongst the drivers.
@@jaguatiricaimediata5305I don't think any normal person uses Iracing to relax. It is an extremely competitive platform, where you need to pay a subscription.
i don’t race in iracing but i love your content bud! i’m just a gt7 noob who races in VR and i’ve got a massive passion for cars, racing etc 💯💯 keep up the great content mate 💪
He was 18 years old. They aren’t ‘stunts’. He was a kid in F1. He skipped the junior categories, such was his immense talent. He was bound to make mistakes coming into F1 with so little experience.
@@jakubkrcmaIt was completely acceptable. Did you ever watch F1 before that? Hamilton was a nuisance too, hell he didn’t even allow some drivers to even touch him after the race. Senna had all shenanigans going on with almost all the drivers. That’s how it goes in F1. The greatest are always on the edge .
@@0okyo Max was beyond all that. Michael, Ayrton, Lewis etc. were much less extreme, within the respective era. Max stood out in a negative way. Not a top team driver in 2016.
Max is so good it’s insane. He is really showing his love for sim racing and a respect it so much. And that he is so good in a sim is so impressive. Can’t wait to when he is going to do real endurance racing.
That thing you described of realxed driving happened to me like 2 weeks ago. I was out fo sims for a couple of weeks, and I went to this track, and I was pretty much chilling cause I was drving with a monitor instead of VR, and I am always like 10 or more seconds faster in VR. But the thing is that driving like super chill, I could beat my best time in Vr by 5 seconds. I was not aware of where did all that time came from.
He’s just one with the car. He’s so used to being right on the edge he’s no longer on the edge of that makes sense. I wish I could explain it because I know exactly what he’s doing. I noticed there are two types of drivers, guys like max who learn the hard way out of principle, and guys who learn the easy way and build up slowly. These guys can’t comprehend the limits you can reach because they’re too conscious of the details. Max just drives on instinct.
Thanks buddy, and double thanks for taking the time to comment and say that, make sure to check out my other videos Im sure you'll like em, and I hope to see you around!
I would love to see a hot lap of one of these elite iRacing drivers with the racing line showing on the replay so I could see how much they don't follow it. Since turning the racing line off, I'm still struggling to beat the lap times I could get with it on, and part of me (not a big part), still needs convincing that there is speed to be gained without it, even though I know it to be true.
Even at a low level the racing line is really bad, just watch a youtube video on the track you want to learn and find some markers for braking. It’s much better trust me. Takes a couple hours to feel the difference but it’s a massive one even without being that skilled
@@wesleyromer3403I don't know if the line is that bad. His question is pertinent. I would also like to see a replay of some good driver compared to the line.
This is going to be a bit long, but bear with me. Don't feel frustrated. I am a middling IRacer. Not great, just good. I am in the same boat as you. IRacing's line is simply a solid starting point using the baseline setups. The absolute fastest lines require using a car setup and driving technique which no average person can hope to handle. If those lines and setups were baseline, everyone would be wreck/spin in every corner and rage about how the sim is undriveable. The fastest lines are much slower if not used with proper set ups and advanced driving technique. And are especially slower when the driver doesn't understand WHAT to do, HOW to do it and most importantly, WHY it works. Max, (or any elite driver), can explain car behavior can explain in excruciating detail. He can lay out whether he made a mistake in technique, braking to early, vector was off, that he downshifted too early or late. He could say he was a bit to early on the throttle when exiting one of the previous three corners and raised the tire temps. He knows the nature of the behavior with regard to setup; was it problem with brake bias, differential, weight transfer issues, or a combination. He will balance all manner of information, tire temps, the cars balance, the previous corner types, the fuel load, in order to control the car from corner to corner, lap to lap. So to sum up, racing driving has always been about understanding the what and why of the car, but nowadays, whether it is the real world vs sims, it is a mountain of information. And it is very difficult for the average person to understand this stuff without either a great deal of instruction and/or study.
I REALLY REALL REALLY Enjoyed watching you race when I watched this live, I think it's even cooler you commented on my vid!, I checked it out that is some stanky business, Great work, your lightning fast my friend!
@@NicoAssaf I agree. What I am saying is that it is probably also a matter of gut as to go 300K/M in real life dodging bullet is another character of a person. Some of the fastest racers are nerds (in a positive way).
@@alexrambo7713 which car did you run? We drove with VRS setup and got into the 8.13's but still 5 sec is such a big gap. And we were 5 sec faster than some other splits
People dont realize how much time he spends in the sim, even before F1 he was really into sim racing, hes a racer, and a F1 champ, so of course he will be quick, why are people so surprised by this lol
