I can definitely say that my thoughts towards Ironwood are in the negative camp. He: - is not right in a morality camp - is not right in a strategical camp - is not fitting to the core ideal of huntsmen/huntresses - is not a leader of ALL the citizens that are supposed to be under his care, only the rich Atlesian nobles - has a massive hero complex that makes him see his way as the only way, which "Hero" epitomizes much in the same vein as Lionize does with Adam - also leans way too much into authoritarian-fascist territory for my backing. From the way of "absolute loyalty" to invoking martial law to his go to of arresting anyone not kissing his boots like Robyn. I definitely do think the Qrow vs. Tyrian vs. Clover could've been done more in the vein of a free-for-all w/ no "teaming up" being mentioned just chaos; that way it still shows the near-brainwashing of Clover's absolute loyalty to orders and Qrow's trying to only use fists against Clover. But there might've been issues with trying to do that version of things. Didn't even know the comments for So this is RWBY were turned off xD Passionate is a word for it (at least one side). It shouldn't be a big thing, if comments are getting a bit too much a creator should be fully allowed to disable w/ no issue. Though we do live in the age where everyone thinks they're owed full view of every detail of everyone life annoyingly. As for other reactors: Xiao Long; Semblance of Sanity; up-to a point could check out Puns of Damage but they stopped doing reactions when joining the team working on the show; are a few off the top of my brain. I honestly don't think anyone should feel too bad about looking negatively at Whitley. Mostly cause he came across as just an annoying brat that took after his dad, which included looking down at his sisters. After having the context of him put in place I think that's when one should be more soft towards him. But that's my view. Until the End is possibly my fav for the volume, though Fear is definitely a close 2nd.
Such an amazing finale! I definitely feel more for Whitley now knowing the context. It was the same exact thing with Waze which again proves to me that context is key. Don’t judge things at face value even though they can emotionally stir you up from the get-go. Knowing the background or the inner workings of stuff saves a whole lot of assumptions not only in the show but definitely IRL🖤

lotta weird ironwood simps in the chat. he was wrong, plain and simple. nothing about his plan would've worked (maybe short-term, but definitely not long-term), and even then, abandoning an entire city to save himself is objectively wrong, plain and simple. if you believe otherwise, you're going against RWBY's entire ethos.
Well, I would say it was more to save Atlas than himself specifically... And, to be fair, if his plan did work, then he would also technically save the world from what Salem might do with the relics, if she got them... This said, I still don't think his plan is the best, especially long term... I just don't think he was necessarily being quite as selfish as you seemed to imply.
If you want more RWBY content to indulge, you should read the books After the Fall, Before the Dawn and Roman Holiday. The first one is about team CFVY, the second one team CFVY and SSSN, with both novels taking place in Vacuo after seasons 3 and I believe 6? They are really good. Roman Holiday is basically an origin story about Neo along with Roman. It’s also really good. And man! I cannot wait for Volume 8.

I have time to actually sit down and watch this..! *Does the happy weeping of AZ to Floette meme in real life as I start getting all my 'notes about this OST's awesome lyrics and stuff' out* TTwTT Anyway! First off is Trust Love - remember how in one of my many oversized comments for the finale I mentioned something about the title Gravity for the episode where everything went wrong was a bit of genius? WELL take note of one of the lines within this song: "Always hoping that a lightning bolt, Is gonna save you from this gravity" Not only is Gravity being mentioned as something that the one being sung to seems to saving from, but the use of Lightning is actually a reoccurring theme in RWBY openings: Specifically in This Will Be The Day the line "We Are Lightning" is used more than pretty much any other line, and in Rising the first line of the corus is "The Lightning doesn't take advice from anyone" seemingly in reference to Team RWBY and their allies if we take the stance of the openings being about them. So while it might be a bit of a reach on my part I'd say its fair to interpret the opening parts of Trust Love as specifically hoping that 'a lightning bolt AKA Team RWBY' can save whoever 'you' is in the song from 'gravity' which in context could mean the seriousness of the situation, the awfulness that happens in the episode titled Gravity, a metaphor for fear or arguably even the physical gravity that would send Atlas plummeting downwards should the Staff of Creation be used at any point. =D (Note: The 'you' being sung to in the song is almost certainly Oz lyrics wise given the 'Right now your hopes are shattered, Just pointless ever after' line, but when that line plays in the actual opening they put the image of Ironwood becoming downcast/frozen -then the Schnee family- over so arguably the song Trust Love is aimed at both of them, with the two each acting as opposing foils to show the different ways one can react to the song's/team RWBY's message that love and trust are the only ways to ultimately defeat our fears). For bonus cleverness Trust Love references This Will Be The Day in more lines. Specifically is uses "You're holdin' out for some romantic life, Maybe you'll wake up in a world of charm" as a hopeful 'it could happen' statement to contrast This Will Be The Day's lines "You want a romantic life, A fairytale that's full of charm" which are the lead in to the dire warnings that things will NOT turn out for the better and that bad things are going to happen. (Additionally the last verse can probably be connected to the V6 song Miracle and by proxy Ruby's silver eyes which kind of were the 'miracle' for that volume: "There's not a miracle that's gonna show you how, The secret to your life is here and now. Look inside, end your search and be alive. It's time to rise, to realize, to open up your eyes.") ...So yeah. Basically Trust Love despite how hopeful and uplifting it is on a surface level is actually the song of ALL the foreshadowing and dire warnings that things weren't going to go so well but alas we had no way of knowing until 'Gravity' struck and it all went to hell. Though I'd go further and argue that even pre-Maiden Cinder would beat Neo. *_(Apologies for the long comment):_* Actually, Cinder is probably the second-greatest fighter in the entire series in terms of skill, surpassed only by Ozpin himself (if Neo tried to take on Ozpin, she’d get absolutely wrecked). Even when comparing her to Pyrrha Nikos, the world-renowned top fighter of Beacon Academy, Mercury remained certain that Cinder (even before becoming the Fall Maiden) would *_“be able to take her no problem.”_* And she did. As for why Cinder lost to Raven in Volume 5, that was mainly due to Raven’s superior knowledge and experience with the Maiden powers, having about a decade longer than Cinder with which she used to master them, whilst Cinder only had a few months at most. It is also important to acknowledge Cinder’s disadvantages during this and her other battles. Firstly, her Grimm arm (its official name being “Shadow Hand”), whilst enabling her to siphon Aura and/or magic like the Maiden powers into herself, also serves as a crippling weakness, and not just to the Silver Eyes. Because Aura does not protect Cinder’s Shadow Hand, we see it getting impaled by a shard of her own sword at the beginning of this fight, not to mention the however many tonnes of rock that collapsed on her later. Despite enduring the pain of what would be equivalent to grievous and debilitating (and even fatal) injuries on most people, Cinder is still able to fight on, which speaks to her sheer strength and willpower, to the point where her Aura level was about the same as Raven’s by the end. Additionally, we mustn’t forget about the other scars and burnt flesh and tissue all over Cinder’s body; those ought to contribute to lessening her full potential in some regard. Furthermore, Cinder is missing an eye, which diminishes one’s ability to judge distance and harms their overall fighting ability. Therefore, Cinder can fight her enemies even with poor vision and other physical defects. So Cinder is technically a superior fighter to Raven in terms of skill but was just overcome by her older opponent’s greater experience with the Maiden powers, as well as her own physical disabilities (namely the loss of her eye, heavy scarring, and an entire arm that can’t be protected by Aura). Had Cinder been in her peak physical form like she was when she defeated and killed Ozpin himself in Volume 3, Raven might not have fared so well against the Dark Maiden here. These same disadvantages are carried by Cinder throughout her other battles, including her time as the final boss of Volume 7. And yet, Cinder was able to easily outmatch and physically overpower both Winter Schnee and a fully-powered and upgraded Penny Polendina single-handedly. Winter has been shown to have a skill level comparable to Qrow, Tyrian and Clover (and superior to the rest of the Ace-Ops), and according to Watts, Winter is above their level. This being, who was strong enough to stop a high-speed incoming truck with her bare hands easily and shatter the ground in the process in Volume 2, charged and punched at Cinder with that same strength... and Cinder just caught the punch with her bare hand like it was nothing, before proceeding to throw the Protector of Mantle around like a rag doll. Cinder was able to outmatch these skilled warriors separately and simultaneously... and that was without even using any of her Maiden powers! This is an important detail to point out about Cinder: outside of Maiden battles, Cinder makes very little, if not _no_ use of her Maiden powers when combating her opponents - only really using them to summon her weapons if necessary - relying instead on her natural skills to beat her enemies. For example, when Cinder fought Glynda Goodwitch in the very first episode of the series, NONE of the attacks Cinder utilised were of Maiden power - it was all Cinder’s Semblance: Scorching Caress. Cinder caught Penny’s superhuman punch without using her Maiden powers; Cinder outperformed both Penny and Winter in sword and hand-to-hand combat *_without_* the use of her Maiden powers. And with her usual confident smile. Therefore, Cinder proved to be more skilled than many of the world’s greatest fighters by using her own raw talent and prowess. Given all of this, it should be easy to see that even fighters as skilled as Neo are no great challenge for Cinder. If Cinder wanted to kill Neo, she could have done so quite easily, even without the Maiden powers. Still, Cinder wasn’t trying to defeat Neo so much as focusing on re-recruiting her into her cause, despite Neo’s betrayal and attempted assassination of Cinder. Overall, Cinder is the second most skilled fighter in all of RWBY. No one but Ozpin has been shown to possess greater fighting ability than her without using magic (though Ozpin did use his magic when fighting Cinder in the Volume 3 finale).

One of my favourite volume soundtracks in the show... I think this and volume 2... I say this a lot >_>;; You've probably seen me say it a lot by now... Not necessarily the best songs in the show, but such a nice variety and plenty of interesting things about each song... The most guest vocalists too lol. Not that I don't love hearing Casey, Lamar and Jeff, but it's nice to have a mix... Ooh well, anyway... Trust Love... It's a nice, fun opening song... Not overly special, but very solid... Touch The Sky... Watch out! That bassline is flying all over the place lol. Hero... Such a good character song for Ironwood... It's almost heroic, but has some not so great undertones to it... He's willing to sacrifice everything to succeed... But that includes other people too, not just himself... Nice call back to volume 2 in the lyrics... Caleb hitting some reasonably crazy notes too lol. Brand New Day... Super fun song... Bit Doo-wop, bit bluesy... Part of me wonders if it's Jaune and Qrow rather than Blake and Qrow... I think Blake is more likely, but Jaune could fit too... Typically Casey does female characters though... Plus maybe the mention of birds and sun are references to Yang, which would fit better with Blake... This said, Casey sings the Oscar song later and arguably Oscar and Jaune are possibly both gender-flipped characters... Maybe it makes sense that Oscar is kinda like the P in JNPR now (Oscar PINE)... I think they show him as the 3rd member in the intro for this volume, although I don't think it was ever completely official. Let's Get Real... A bop! Hard to say if it's the Shine or Boop of this volume... More Shine in style, but it's Nora, so yeah... Actually, I always thought of Shine as a Pyrrha song, but it could possibly fit Nora too, now that I think about it... War... Rocks pretty hard and has an interesting arrangement going on with the four vocalists... It's almost like a girl group if it were all rock singers or something... I think Sirs&Madams referred to them as a heavy metal version of the Andrews Sisters or something lol. Either way, I think the lyrics really hit for what's going on at the end of volume 7. Not sure if you recognised the solo bit in the Sirs&Madams cover of Caffeine, but I believe it's based on Highway Star by Deep Purple... I forget exactly what, but I think they noticed some similarity when they listened to Caffeine, so they did a little bit of a mashup there lol. Highway Star is a cool song too, so you might want to check it out if you haven't heard it already. Oh, and I know that normally you'd want to hold out on listening to the songs in the end credits too closely before doing the soundtrack stream, but I think the one in volume 8 hits even better if you listen to it properly during the final end credits... ironwood isnt protecting atlas, hes protecting remnant, thats why he wants to get the relics out of salems reach oscar told him about if the relics are brought together the gods will judge us. his end goal is keep the relics from her at all costs, no mater how many lives or kingdoms it costs.
Well, I'd argue that his main focus is on saving his kingdom, Atlas, primarily... It could easily just be Atlas left if his plan were to succeed... It's arguably better than nothing, if it works, but he's also leaving everyone else to fend for themselves... If Atlas can't stop Salem, why would anyone else be able to? If she gets the Vacuo relic, the sword, his plan may be a bust anyway, depending on how the sword works... There are other potential flaws in his plan too... But yeah, regardless of that, I'd say he's still thinking Atlas first.
@@KitsyX he literally says in the episode "we are saving remnant" and "we are saving who we can". hes using atlas as a way to get the relics out of salems reach people and kingdoms are no longer his priority. from everything thats been revealed up to now a natural assumption the characters would make is that salem thinks bringing the gods back will result in the end of everything including her eternal curse, so ironwood is thinking of the relics first and by extenstion remnant. raising atlas is the beat plan he thinks he has left. he also said " i will sacrifice everything to stop salem".

Despite Neo having gotten stronger since Volume 3 and fighting her hardest trying to kill Cinder, Cinder was able to keep up with her and get some solid hits in, even though Cinder wasn’t even trying. If Cinder wanted to kill Neo, she could have done so quite easily, even without the Maiden powers. Still, Cinder wasn’t trying to defeat Neo so much as focusing on re-recruiting her into her cause, despite Neo’s betrayal and attempted assassination of Cinder. Overall, Cinder is the second most skilled fighter in all of RWBY. No one but Ozpin has been shown to possess greater fighting ability than her without using magic (though Ozpin did use his magic when fighting Cinder in the Volume 3 finale).
