REACTING TO SEASON 9 OF THE NEXT STEP (E17) 

I feel like Eldon’s storyline was a clever way for the writers to tell fans that tns has indeed moved on, and people need to accept it by embracing the new A-troupe instead of clinging onto the past and saying things like ‘nothing will beat the first A-troupers’ or ‘this show should have stopped at season 3’. The season 1-3 OG’s were amazing but now this is the next (next) generation’s time to shine. Love it or leave it :)

I actually really like how there was no music throughout the Michelle and Eldon scene. Like it was so raw and natural , which I think is a common theme in season 9

Eldon emotional solo, and micheldon convo scenes were 10/10. But grace popping up and the end tho, she like heyyy im still here guysss 😂

Grace is the definition of “I gotta wake up extra early to be a hater” 😭

I felt like this episode was really well written. Even the little things like Izzy, Pete and Anthony ran over to hug Michelle which would make sense cos they met when they competed in The Challenge in Series 8!

I loved how, despite Eldon often being completely out of character, if you rewatch the previous episodes you can spot several seeds planted leading to this. For example “I’ve been feeling down lately” LOVE it when things feel planned out several episodes in advance 👏👏👏

laughed when Grace said she will make sure they don't make it to the internationals stage, even though it is in their own studio 😂

Tbh I really enjoyed this one!! I love Michelle, and while I don't want to justify Eldon's actions, I feel like he kinda redeemed himself in this episode 😂

I'm still really mad that they made Thalia and Eldon break up...like there's no REASON for it. I really hope they don't make Michelle and Eldon a thing AGAIN because I really like when Michelle and Emily's biggest thing is their friendship/rivalry with each other and Eldon gets neither of them and I'm really frustrated that they like threw all of Thalia and Eldon's development OUT THE WINDOW; it was like SIX SEASONS!!! 😭 Although given that they made that choice, it actually was smart that they made it happen before Nationals...like it explains why Thalia wasn't at Nationals and only Eldon was...Sigh. Still wish they hadn't made them break up.

I feel like breaking Eldon and Thalia up was a way of explaining to younger viewers that sometimes even good teenage relationships don’t age well when you get older and you realise that you want separate things in life, because in reality it does happen way often then you would expect, so it was a great teaching lesson to the younger audience even though it was heartbreaking

The best episode of the season for me. It felt like TNS of old and I love, loved it. The Eldon growth in it was so emotional, so was his interactions with Michelle. I cried during part of the episode. Thank God for BBC three showing the two new episodes on a Monday at 7pm as I am in Ireland with no access to BBC iPlayer.

Eldon and Michelle's conversation really got to me, Isaac and Vic performed that scene so so well. I'm heartbroken Thalia and Eldon broke up, I really thought they were endgame. Obviously going through that doesn't make any of what Eldon did ok, but it's nice to know there was a genuine reason and he owned up to it and apologized. Honestly that was probably my favorite moment of the season so far. Grace showing up at the end was hilarious, like girl we're having an emotional moment right now get out!!! Also I need Grace to actually *do* something cause if I have to hear her monologue one more time without any action I'm gonna be annoyed. I feel like the Eldon plot was the writers nudging the audience, reminding us that this is a new era of TNS and A-troupe, so comparing now to the past and wishing for the ogs to be the focus won't do any good.

I watched this episode and finished it thinking “Alishea is gonna love this”😭

this episode was sooo emotional! i loved seeing Michelle back as always, and im so glad she got through to eldon! if anyone was going it was going to be her, and the news about Thalia broke my heart 😩 like they were so unproblematic and were going strong since he got his 30 pirouettes in season 3 until now, like I thought they were endgame 😭 ngl at one point I thought they were setting up Michelle and eldon again romantically, but they didn't do that thank god lol. i am kinda excited to see the remy plot more and he's definitely going to jeopardise TNS at internationals somehow. grace is the number one lurker, like why is she always there, atleast with Amanda she did stuff and didn't care in a way and did it in front of a troupe, grace is just giving stalker im sorry 😭 eldon's flashback solo was sooo good, it got me so emotional seeing all his past solos on stage especially. nick being at the restaurant Riley was a waitress at was hilarious, because the writers are giving inconsistency like why not have him in episode 15, but then make him come back for episode 16 only for him to disappear in episode 17 😭 can't believe there's only 5 episodes left like season 9 was gone so quicklyyy

SEEING ANTHONY STANDING UPBTO ELDON, THAT WAS VERY HARD, BUT I ADMIRED HIS BRAVERY, I'M VERY PROUD OF HIM

It was such a rollercoaster episode. I didn't like how Eldon wants to compete in the Home Field Advantage and takes away the opportunity from Izzy who has been working so hard for that opportunity and Anthony sees something in them. I appreciate Anthony for standing up to Eldon. I'm glad Michelle showed up in this episode. She was right about everything she said to Eldon. I enjoyed Eldon's solo and I love the flashbacks included. I feel bad that Ebby got blocked and unfollowed by Remi, Remi was using Ebby. I'm looking forward to seeing your next reaction video.

This was a really emotional episode. It was great to have Michelle return to save TNS again. Pete, Izzy, Ebby, Adele and Niall’s reactions to seeing her was so cute. I’m glad Izzy got to really shine in the freestyle battle too. They absolutely killed it and deserved their win against Remi. The song that played during their battle was also really good. Michelle sorting out Eldon was absolutely the highlight though. It makes so much sense to why Eldon has been acting crazy lately. At first, I thought it was just about Acronation losing Nationals but I didn’t realise it was so much more than that. Having said that though, I’m absolutely gutted about Eldon and Thalia breaking up. They were the most unproblematic TNS couple and stayed strong for 7 seasons. To know that they’re no longer together really hurts. I guess it’s a way of showing that not all long relationships work out but I don’t agree with breaking them up. I wanted them to stay together. I don’t think they would ever dare to do this to a couple like Jiley (as in like post season 4). Could you imagine? I’m so heartbroken for Theldon😭 Michelle vouching for Adele and telling Eldon that they’re not A-Troupe anymore really hits deep especially when she says they had their time but it’s a good way of getting the message through to Eldon and also the audience in a way. I’m glad Michelle made Eldon realise the importance of helping lead the new team and how Eldon wanted to return to the place where he felt like a winner. His solo at the end was so emotional with the flashbacks, Michelle and everyone watching him. I hope he can heal now and become a better choreographer. Loved Anthony hugging and forgiving him first🥹 I feel bad for Ebby though. Grace sneaking and hiding in the shadows is so funny though. I love how she ruined the moment. I’m still curious to see what she’ll do. She’s lowkey not wrong about A-Troupe letting go of the past very easily🤭 8:59 also had me dying!😂😂😂

my theory for internationals and this could possibly lead to season 10/finale season Since it’s only Tns vs France I think this will be a twist and this is actually only the first round of the real internationals because since there’s supposed to be teams from every county why is it only tns vs France? and they’re doing live stream Challenges so I think this could just be the first round and then all the teams that win the studio vs studio will go to the real internationals(season 10). I’m really hoping this is true because this would be an amazing way to make a season 10 and end of the series completely.

I cried little but yes it was a good episode in my opinion I loved that the show is talking about Adele disability more and Michelle is just iconic , Izzy freestyle solo was fire 🔥 eldon solo at the end and the flashbacks wasn’t expecting

They've been fine for like 5 seasons so why mess with them now😑Also realized this is the first time I've been really sad about a couple breaking up on this show since I was about 13, which was 8 years ago... Didn't know I liked them together that much haha

I know I'm late on this, but I though this episode was a significantly better than the last 3. I went from hating Eldon in this series to feeling really sorry for him, I feel they pushed it at points (Like episode 14!) but I'm glad they actually had a reason why Eldon was acting like an Ass. Also quick note also the lack of rehearsals are really annoying me, do we even know what the official dances for internationals are? Like there's a small group, a Duo, a soloist and the big group number. Not that we ever see anyone rehearse for them, also where's heath? We haven't seen him since like episode 14? WHY DO WE NEVER SEE THEM AS A WHOLE TEAM? I know it's because of money and they've got a shoestring budget, but as a fan it's annoying, Though I do understand. Final little bit, When I tell you I laughed out loud when Grace appeared from round the corner, why was she just there, how long has she been there for? It was a bit silly, we don't need a reminder of what her plan is, we know, she's been saying it in most of the episodes. Also always enjoy your reactions as always, been watching since series 1 as well so I understand why we have similar opinions. We've known TNS at it's best, but I am enjoying this series, I think it's in the top 5 for me but we'll have to wait to see if the rest of the episodes are good. I'm just disappointed it's internationals so a lot of this cast will be leaving after this series which is a shame because this is the strongest cast of characters we've had in a while.

noo i'm so sad for eldon and talia.why do they have to split the og couples when they wouldn't have appeared on screen anyway?the depressed solo with the flashbacks it's one of the most basic things ever but still hits every single time.overall i think it was a great way to write eldon off,one of the best things of this season.

Apologies for my rant but lmk what u think... Halfway through watching this I randomly guessed Eldons plot and to my surprise I was right. I'm just not buying the Anthony and Adele romance. I was really hoping they wouldn't put Anthony in a relationship this season and their relationship just feels forced & rushed plus I feel like we don't really know Adele that much as an individual (same with Olive & Niall) which makes me care about this couple even less. I genuinely have no idea why Grace is even around anymore. Completely forgot about her till the end plus with Ariana now forgiven and everything basically out in the open I don't see what Grace can possibly do to stop them except literally injuring someone at this point. How does internationals even work this season? So is TNS only facing France and every other country is also just facing one country? Does that mean in the end there will be like 50 winners or? So there's 22 episodes this season and we're already at 17. We still need to have France arrive at the studio and have that party we see in the trailer which I imagine will be the last episode before Internationals begins meaning it'll only be 4 episodes which...worries me

But I'm still not sure, any guesses?

Anybody notice Remy’s outfit? Grey camo tank top, just like… ALFIES AND ELLIOTS (I think?) They subtly showed that he was meant to look like an antagonist.

I suspect the reason they didn’t use empire was because they used it for Noah’s goodbye solo with the flashbacks in season 6, so it would’ve been an almost identical scene

Shut up Grace , and i loved Eldon's flash backs and his solo and my girl Michelle is back so happy and Izzy won and very happy Eldon's bomb shell was over reached , but it was about the breakup with Talia aww so sad . and that this eposide very nicely done i rate this as an 10.5

I think one of the main reasons for not doing it internationally is mainly to do with Covid still they still wear face masks when filming going abroad is risky

I rlly liked this episode. Tbh when eldon was making these strange desicions i was honestly so confused that i found it funny so when i found out the actual reason he was acting this way i was rlly shocked and it made me so sad. I loved theldon and i hope they get back together but idk if they will. I hope we find out the reason they broke up or at least just find out more abt the situation because this storyline doesnt feel completeley over to me. Another thing i rlly liked is the ebby and remi plot. I think its rlly unique and unlile anything weve seen in tns so far. I feel bad for ebby because its pretty clear that hes using her in some way. Although i am looking forward to seeing how this storyline turns out and if maybe it could be the reason that ebby doesnt dance at internationals.
