I loved the game as a kid, but I also haven't played it since I was a kid so I actually didn't remember that book being there at all. It wasn't until the book opened that I gasped, thinking it was a remaster of the OG Paper Mario, and I thought "Holy shit maybe they'll do TTYD as well" Then they showed Rogueport and I was like HOLY FUCKING SHIT 😂😂😂

It's like the guy who jokingly played megalovania at every smash reveal, only for the trailer to play it for him.

You should see how Andrew NSG reacted to the announcement... "I WAS JOKING!!!" 🤣

The partners (and NPCs) have extra animations/sprites for being surprised. They're so much more expressive now!

@@quangamershyguyyz7166 I struggle a lot to understand their mind, their decisions are sometimes extremely weird as a company, but all I can say is that I am so happy they decided to fill the post-movie era with rpg and ttyd. Nobody would've predicted that after a decade of ignoring mario as a rpg, and they made the choice to give this games the best commercial era of the mario franchise. that's a complete 180° spin, especially when you consider how Miyamoto and the Mario bros series director pushed so much for "no complex stories" and no "original characters"

Super Paper Mario and The Origami King are underrated. Yes the first two are the best ones but just because SPM and TOK are different did not make them bad. They are tons of fun and very creative.

Sadly, Super Paper Mario doesn’t hold up as well as its predecessors. Not a terrible game, but the RPG mechanics feel really hand-fisted into an otherwise interesting dimension mechanic. Even then, the dimension mechanic can be cumbersome at times. The story is the best in the series though; no doubt.

@@imjustalittleqwerty I disagree agree about it not holding up. I've played the first three games many many times. While I do have a couple of complaints, Super Paper Mario is still just as fun as when it first came out. At least for me.

we never got a replay of xenoblade when that got its definitive edition, but ttyd is also a much smaller task to tackle than that one so there's a chance. i'd watch it!!

The first 3?! Super too? You are a rarity. Super is where I came in and it’s my favorite story, but I think the game play on TTYD is slightly better.

@@RavenFilms Super Paper Mario is a fantastic game. Its a platformer with RPG elements instead of being an RPG with platformer elements like the first two. Just because it's different doesn't make it a bad game. I love it. I haven't played color splash unfortunately. But Sticker Star isn't bad.. it's just good, not great. By that I mean, I LIKE it but I do not LOVE it. It has too many flaws. Mainly being repetitive. I Loved Origami King despite it being different as well.

@@RavenFilms also. If you haven't played it yet. I highly recommend the game Bug Fables. It's on PC and Switch. Plays exactly like the first two paper Mario games and is on par with them in my opinion.

FINALLY, some people get it, love Origami King.

@@Velvetloss it's a great game. It took some of the experiments from Sticker Star and Color Splash but the gameplay was much better and had plenty of traditional elements as well. Plus the story was fantastic. Very underrated game.

Nintendo is never gonna make more real Paper Mario games no matter how well this sells. They don’t care about what the fans want. Get fucking over it. I rather they make more games in the style of the modern Paper Mario’s anyway.

I had no reason to expect Atlus/Nintendo to give me remasters of Etrian Odyssey, and yet they did exactly that out of nowhere. I had no reason to expect this game and yet here it is. I don't expect things, but there's no sense in living under a rain cloud and trying to shit on other people's hopes.

No it doesn't. It makes the character sprites/models/whatever stand out too much from the rest of the world. It makes it look less like they're part of the world and more that they've just been plopped in. It's immersion-breaking and jarring. And in the case of the SS Trilogy, it's just another problem with a series of bad games with TONS of issues. Death By A Thousand Cuts. The sheer amount of flaws just makes each stand out more (like the outlines do to the characters) and be more of a problem than they should be.

Yes it does, it makes the characters, sprites, and models all feel like they're apart of the rest of the world even more. It's paper genius, a paper outline making them stand out from a paper world, you're utterly hilarious. It doesn't look like they've been plopped into the world with the white outline at all and it's really sad to see how pathetic some of you people are with this. It further immerses and isn't the slightest bit jarring, there isn't a SS Trilogy bud there's a new game trilogy. The series aren't bad games at all and none of them have a TON of issues or even a lot. And here you go ranting about your completely unjustified hatred for the new games when that's not even the topic here. I don't give a shit what a toxic ass like you thinks about the newer games, you'll never be heard by anybody. The outlines being more of a problem then they should be to you is aaaaall on you, that's all your doing for nitpicking the hell out of everything and despising the games. In reality, it isn't a problem whatsoever and looks really good, doesn't make the characters stand out in a bad way and there are no huge amount of flaws like you like to pretend there is.
