I’m a Yankee fan but that Gausman is just filthy. Big game I’d hand that cat the ball.

I don't like the fact they have Yordan over Ohtani
@farlow126
@farlow126 2 месяца назад
Why? You can make a case he is a better hitter than Ohtani and in the 2024 season that is all Ohtani is. Also, Yordan will play the outfield in 2024.
@jonathonedwardmiller
@jonathonedwardmiller 2 месяца назад
@@farlow126 Ohtani is overall a better player than Yordan. He's got better tools outside of power. Yes he can pitch VERY well, but he also is a REALLY good baserunner
@farlow126
@farlow126 2 месяца назад
This is a list for the 2024 season only. Ohtani’s pitching ability will not be a factor at all. I will give you his amazing speed, but if you factor in his poor base running and the fact that Yordan will actually play the field, it is pretty close.
@jonathonedwardmiller

@@farlow126 even taking out his pitching (which I think is a crime) I think Ohtanis a top 5 player

@@jonathonedwardmiller I would probably put Ohtani over Yordan as well, but if my life was on the line and I could pick one guy to hit in a big situation, it would no doubt be Yordan.

The 2 egregious ones are Julio Rodriguez and Taric Skubel. Gausman as well. But there are others where you might disagree but they are arguable.

Agree with you in Altuve… they have it as the best second baseman…Semien and Albies are better

Altuve was injured last year and still put up numbers. There’s not a single 2nd baseman I’d take over him right now

This is ESPN just being ESPN. The original ESPN was the best. i remember being in my teens falling asleep to sports center & hearing Bregman saying "Back, Back, Back, Back, Back, Back Gone!". ESPN was 100% Sports & not the Political Left Wing Narrative Promoting Clown Show they are today not to mention how far OFF they are when it comes to Ranking Top Players.

Austin Riley at #29?! What the hell are they doing? I would have taken offense if he wasn't listed top 15 but 29? What's funny is to look at the stats of the next 10-15 guys that they somehow claimed were better. Let see here averaging 36 bombs and 99 RBI's over the last 3 seasons while playing great defense. Yeah that sure sounds like only the 29th best player. We're talking about the guy who is good enough to bat 3rd for not just the best offense in baseball (by a lot) but one of the very best in history. So dumb. Ramirez and Machado ahead? I'm ok with Ramirez being somewhat close behind but machado? What year is it again? I guess we should feel good about this though considering Bustr Olney put him at ...42. 42? 42! I think that is an even bigger slap in the face than MLB network leaving Ozzie Albies off its top 10 2nd baseman.

How, exactly, do you justify Francisco Alvarez being over Raleigh as of now? Last year Raleigh led him in every single stat of the slashline, had an OPS 45 points higher, and a wRC+ 14 points higher (111 vs 97). Defensively, they're very similar. Alvarez is the better framer, (Raleigh is still very good) but Raleigh is far better at catching runners. Overall, Raleigh led him in the Fangraphs DEF metrics by 5 points. In terms of baserunning, neither are great, but Alvarez is far worse, with a -3.8 BsR on fangraphs as opposed to Raleighs -0.8. In terms of WAR, Raleigh had 2 more than Alvarez (4.7 vs 2.7). Raleigh did play 20 more games, but even when you average it out over 162 games, Raleigh is far better in WAR (5.3 vs 3.6). I would still clearly give it to Raleigh atp, and even so, acting like its egregious putting him above Alvarez is a little weird when Raleigh is better in nearly every aspect of the game (and a significantly better hitter) while also having a longer track record.

Stop and think for a second...ESPN is Disney Sports. Who gives a damn about what Mickey Mouse thinks? Actually, he'd rank these players better than any of the dolts Disney Sports employs.

You must mean Jennifer Rodriguez because if you meant Julio Rodriguez that would be a damn silly statement. Julio is one of the best 5-7 hitters in baseball.
