We're Zhen and Carrie... #Zherrie! This is our third VoicePlay reaction in a row, and this time, we're watching their The Little Mermaid Medley featuring the super talented Rachel Potter! While it's fun watching them perform classics like "Part of Your World", "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl", the song that stood out the most for us HAD to be Geoff's rendition of "Poor Unfortunate Souls"! It absolutely was an interpretation that needed to exist in this world! Watch us get our minds blown yet again by VoicePlay, and don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE! It doesn't cost you a thing, only takes a second, and will help our channel grow! THANK YOU!

Is this the coolest rendition of Poor Unfortunate Souls on RU-vid or no? 😜

At 6:05 the slide is from a D5-D2 and a double track with a D1 subharmonic

According to Geoff all of this was Laynes idea and when Layne handed out what parts Geoff was surprised that he got Urzulas song. And wondered how he should or could pull it off and that’s the result.

I love that you have the National Park Theme song in the background! It was soft and light, but I could tell and geeked out hahaha!

When you pointed it out I was like, "wait, is Poor Unfortunate Souls that much longer than the other songs?" And yup, nearly twice as long as any other song in that medley. In fairness, though, it is the second best Disney villain song ever written (beaten out only by Be Prepared). As for the remix at the end, I'm not aware of any full version of that song existing. The did a similar remix thing with Eli's opening song in the Moana medley - you can hear it playing behind Geoff and Layne talking at the end of the video.

Agreed, off the top of my head, whenever I think of Disney villain songs, I think of Be Prepared and Poor Unfortunate Souls! The stage versions don't count, though I've a soft spot for Gaston's "Me" 😆 Interesting note about the remix though! I didn't realise it during the Moana medley (probably coz they were talking over it LOL)

Go to Geoff's RU-vid channel and you'll find him reading the original Little Mermaid story. He's got a few short stories he's narrated.

The answer to your question is 4 octaves with some layering over it.

The song playing over the Patron list at the end of the video is a remix version of Geoff's "Poor Unfortunate Souls." Done presumably just because they could! LOL The remix is not the full song, though.

Nah, a decrescendo has to do with volume, not pitch. It's a descending glissando, though, if that's what you mean?
