For those kinds of spinning aerial shots, they used helicopters. Things were a lot different back then, but the 80s were a fun time to be a kid.

I loved your reaction, Sis! I didn't fit together the whole "Max is the head vampire & Thorn was his daytime protector" puzzle while my late husband & I watched it in a movie theater when it came out. Michael was obviously seduced by David, with so much less chemistry between Michael & Star. Like most young folks, Michael hasn't figured out who he's going to be, which makes young Sam a glorious character. He knows who he is, and doesn't have to go on a "vision quest" to find his true nature, unlike his big brother. Fun fact: Jordan Peele's 2nd movie, "Us", began in 1986 Santa Cruz, Ca, (they called it Santa Clara in Lost Boys). The "Us" grandma offhandedly mentioned a movie being filmed on the carousel (the beginning of this movie, where the cop threw the lost boys off the carousel, then got murdered by them). Please watch the other wildly popular 80s vampire film, Fright Night. This was the first obviously bisexual predator (nothing explicit, but plenty visual hints) I had ever seen on screen at that time.

@@brittneymiles4499 Ugh, the Fright Night remake. I watched it after the young actor playing Charlie in it got run over & killed by his own car. The Russell Brand wannabe playing "Vampire Hunter" Peter Vincent is vulgar & unsympathetic. I couldn't stand Evil Ed in that one, either.

Glad I finally got to watch your reaction. I also thought, wouldn’t it be a cool twist if Max is a vampire?? Then when the reveal came out, I was like, oh shit, I was right! I actually figured that when they went into the video store and he looked at them and said, I thought I told y’all not to come back. After he got home from his date and they showed up and then they showed him going over to their house for his date with the mom I knew he was the head vampire for sure then. Loved your reaction. I thought it was funny too when Max told his mom he had more important things than to think about girls and he was literally just with a girl a few hours ago. 😒

They got me with the video store scene because I figured he didn't want hoodlums in his store lol. But I did side eye when they showed up to his house, and he didn't get hurt. I think the "house invite" really got my antennas up. Also, thanks for watching

Yes, there was still vinyl in the 1980s! We had the "Ghostbusters" soundtrack on LP, and my brother actually had a Vanilla Ice record. (CDs started being popular in the early 1990s; the 8-track was further back, like late 1970s, I think; those were replaced by tape decks, but records remained popular.) BTW, You are so funny! Very glad this popped up in my feed!! 🙂👍

Grandpa is not just a vampire hunter he is in fact just like Micheal, Star, and Laddie were. He was turned by the widow Johnson. Those bottles he is seen drinking its animal blood.

That "girl that was an extra" Is Kelly Jo Minter and she actually had a starring credit. Nobody knows why. Most of whatever she was going to be ended up on the cutting room floor. So, she got a starring credit to look over her shoulder.

The 80's were the best decade! CDs didn't come to the US until 1983. But I don't remember owning one until my college years which was the 90's. In fact, I specifically remember buying cassette singles (one song on each side like a 45 record) through most of college although I did have CDs in college too. CD players were expensive as were the CDs (because they were the new thing).

@@shalayahomebodytv - there are basically 3 sizes of records. The LP Vinyl's you're thinking of are the 33's, the 45's usually only had 1 song per side. And there are 78's which were rare. The numbers are reference to what speed you played them at but also their size.

Vinyl can still be found even today if you know where to look. I've seen the soundtrack to the Avengers on vinyl before. I also saw the TOPGUN: Maverick soundtrack as a vinyl.

Interesting little tidbit of useless information floating around in my head... the contact lenses the vampire crew wore are called Scleral Lenses. They cover the entire eye, which basically smothers out the oxygen. They're painful AF! Anyway, in the cave, when David is burned by the sun... those tears were a reaction to the scleral lenses. The director liked the effect so much he kept it in. Basically, these dudes wearing these lenses are freakin ROCK STARS.
