MEDIC!!!!! we got anonther one here!!!! Voiceplay has been going around destroying reactors..hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 and i'm here for it..been going around watching each one of them lose their mind to this masterpiece..👍👍👍
As addicted as I am to Voiceplay, this one still floors me. I've listened to it already at least 100 times, and I hear something new and different in the arrangement each time. Their best work yet, and that's saying something since everything they do is so damn brilliant.
Easily the best they've done and it's left very experienced reactors stunned and wordless. Geoff, the bass singer, did the arrangement and he favors having Eli (pronounced L-E), the bald guy and second tenor (who also sings baritone) sing in his 'metal scream' voice. Layne, the beatboxer, went crazed here. I've heard this song at least 30 times and it still amazes me.
Gobsmacked. Exactly my reaction! I have adored Voice Play for a long time, but this was unreal. I could (and have) listened to it over and over. Eli...unbelievable!!!
Fellow Spanish girl with a British accent here. This song is from Pirates of the Caribbean and Geoff's arrangement improved it to the max. Eli (pronounced Ellie) is the one with the raspy/rock voice, Layne is the beatboxer/baritone, José is the one in the middle (he's from the group Rockapella) and Cesar is the one with the scar in his eye. You should do their cover of "Bang!", "Queen in 5 minutes", "If I were a rich man/girl" and "Billie Eilish in 3 minutes".
This is so outstanding! I mean, words fail me to describe it. And it broke yet another reactor, LOL! I just gotta say, though, Cesar off the leash is damned impressive!
The more I listen to this song the more I like it. It continues to grow on me. I even find myself singing this while driving, showering, making coffee, etc.
Wonderful reaction - exactly perfect. Qofy got so freaked out half way through that he bolted from the room - forgetting that he was wearing his boxers, but not his pants. I don't understand anyone who could listen to this without being stunned. I sure was... I've been listening to it several times a day since it was released.
Another broken reactor, how do we fix her. You're not the first to be broken by this production and you wont be the last. Great reaction to a mind breaking performance 😁👍🍻
I warned you it was INTENSE!!! I have seen reactors in the fetal position, speechless like you to walking out of the room by the end. And word is Voiceplay has one coming out in a few weeks that will top this!!!
I think they broke you! This was brilliant - the arrangement, the lighting, the costumes and makeup, and especially the vocals. I think it's the best one they've ever done!
Gobsmacked, perfect! If you want a different, brighter feel, try them with Queen in 5 Minutes or Boy Bands in 5 minutes. To hear more of Eli, the bald second tenor, go with Carry On Wayward Son, for a sweet mellow, go for Can't Help Falling in Love or Tennessee Whiskey. Or, for another gritty one, check out Warriors. There lineup has changed in the last two years, one left for personal reasons, the second left to join the Navy. Jose Rosario Jr is guesting , the other four are permanent. Loved your reaction!
This is right up there with their Vikings in My Mother Told Me. If you haven't seen it now it's a must. Jose did that one with VoicePlay also. Hoist the Colours means to raise the Flag. Skull and CrossBones.
I was wondering what it meant by hoist the colours, I knew it was a flag but I did not know it was the skull and Crossbones. Thank you for letting us know
Being retired from the Navy. Hoist the Colors just means raise the flag. Doesn't mean the Jolly Roger. When our ship was in port. We would lower it at sunset. Then hoist it the next morning.
This song was originally from the 3rd pirates of the Caribbean film. The scene it is from is VERY dark, strong and dramatic. VoicePlay are truly masters of their voices and Geoff and Layne have an intimate understanding of themselves and their chosen medium. Please enjoy this rabbit hole of delights. have fun my dear
The original version of this song, at the beginning of 'Pirates of the Caribbean 3,' was very short and simple, and powerful in its way simply because of the context it's performed in. Geoff's arrangement takes it to a whole new level, elevating it to art way beyond the original.
You're in good company, being utterly wiped out at the end. This video has been destroying reactors (well, anyone who listens to it, really)- very few people actually reach the end with any degree of coherence. Geoff's arrangement is absolutely outstanding, the performances were impeccable; I honestly don't know how anyone could listen to this and not be moved. It has brought people to tears, made them curl up fetal, and in one case made them strip their headphones off and chuck them to the side before just walking out of the video, without even a word. I keep hearing about their next piece to come out, and how it's even more impressive, and I'm not entirely sure how I'll handle it. I never do understand how they continue to improve their performances with each successive piece, but I don't care- *I'm here for it!*
I agree with everything you've said. A Capella has never been the type of music i would ever listen too (Deathcore fan!) but Geoff and Voiceplay (+Peter Hollens) are that unbelievably talented that i am extremely moved by any music they release!
Host wouldn't have an I in it. It's Hoyst. ok ? The song is from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. That video is stunning. Gripping. The arrangement is superb. Geoff is truly a genius. Yes you have an English accent. In fact a generic north of England accent. :)
"Hoist the colors" means to raise the flag. to show whether or not you were friend or foe. Ships among other vessels still use flags today to identify country of origin.
This and "If I were a Rick Man/Girl" are my favorites from them....beautiful music! BTW, Geoff has a number of great solo releases, "Blackbird" and "Sixteen Tons" are 2 fabulous ones, as well as "The Headless Horseman" and a few others!
Great reaction, Sam. I'd like to request a special song for you. As you know, Home Free is a special group, and all of their members are awesome singers, but did you know that before joining Home Free, Austin used to sing in musical theater, and used to sing songs from the musical Les Miserables? My request is that you watch, and listen to Austin sing 'Bring Him Home', accompanied by Home Free. I can guarantee you will love it. The video of their live show in Mankato is the best version. Thank you! Our prayers are with your fellow countrymen affected by the La Palma volcano, and we hope everyone is safe. 🙏
