Hey! I'm the guy that sent the TMNT arcade & The WWF Wrestlemania Challenge photos! Thank you for sharing and let me give you some info on the pictures. You were correct! I was at a Chuck E Cheese for my Birthday. My birthday is a week before Christmas and that's why you can see Christmas decorations around the windows. I'm there (i'm the one highest up standing on a stool) with my two cousins, a good friend, and some random kid I didn't know haha. That place became a pet store and is now a Wine & Spirits. Once again you were right in the second photo with which game we were playing. That ring is undeniable! My good friend from the Chuck E Cheese pic is there with me. We were big Ultimate Warrior fans. The tv was in my den/mom's workspace where a Sega Genesis came to join in shortly after. Love this new series. Can't wait to see future episodes!

I ain't gonna lie, I teared up a little bit watching this video. I have zero footage of me as a kid playing games, so it was nice to relive those moments through all those photos. Thanks.

I was SO into gaming from about 1987 until 1997. But amazingly, I don’t know that I have a single photo of me opening any gaming consoles or games. I do have just one short camcorder clip on Christmas with my new SNES, but there’s no look of surprise on my face because I sort of had to “negotiate” putting some of my own money together with it being a Christmas present, and then have my aunt pick it up for me and bring it for me, because my family lived in a very small rural town with nowhere to buy it. I also wish I had pictures of me playing games with my dad. But both of my parents had absolutely no interest in video games, and especially my dad thought they were a waste of time and money. But it would have been fun to share that interest with him. In fact, most things I was into growing up from video games, to basketball, to some others my dad thought were kind of stupid. I always envied my friends who’s parents were into the same things as they were.

On the year 2000 I got laid off from a job that I really liked and I was feeling really down. I we t to the mall with my dad. While there I was looking at a Sega Dreamcast and my dad actually bought it for me to cheer me up. I miss you every day Dad.

I can relate to that Colecovision story. My own "first" console was a Genesis (dad had the Atari 2600 that I played, later got an NES monster haul), we had gone to the mall and hit up maybe a Kay Bee Toys where I picked up SF2 Champion Edition. I didn't even own a console, but my dad bought the game for me since he knew I loved arcade games & he is an avid pinball machine collector. He did his usual thing of going to the flea market the next morning (sun) and he got me a Model 2 along with Sonic 2 and maybe one other thing. I think it might've been Easter sunday that year? Fun times that day...

Man I tell ya, I miss these old days, the feelings these pictures provoke are unreal. Everything was better you spent your time with friends and family in the same room! I will concede however, the colors of the furniture etc were terrible lol

I remember getting Super Mario 3 on my 6th grade promotion. Was a surprise and still a great memory. I played it all that Summer.

I wish I had a photo of me getting my SNES. Because my grandmother made me think she wanted me to pick something out for my cousin. Told her, "if it was me, I'd want the SNES with Donkey Kong Country". Then on Christmas morning it turned out, it was for me. One of my favorite memories of her is the look on her face after I realized I picked out my own gift.

I miss how homely and warm 80s and early 90s living rooms looked! The paneling, couches, fat bulky lamps and tv's❤ i remember a sister of mine purchasing the Genesis for me when it came out.. Our living room tv set wasnt compatible to the Genesis so 8 year old me went, got a butter knife and spliced my brand new Genesis hook ups so it'd play(a trick we knew back in the day😅) . Ill never forget my sisters face😂and hearing her say, "well, wont be returning that" 😅

I love seeing other people’s gaming memories this is gonna show just how young I am but I remember my parents getting me a DS Lite in 2008 I was 5 at the time and they gave me the games before the console and when I told them they didn’t work on my gameboy advance they acted all confused and then out of nowhere bam, Blue DS Lite. Will always cherish that memory and hope I can do the same for my future kids.

I would send in photos of me from the 90's playing both the nes & snes but ironically I don't have any photos of that from back then. If anything not to many girls played video games to my knowledge back then. It was me playing: NES, SNES, N64, & PS1. My other friend at the time also a girl but maybe 5 years younger than me played Sega Genesis & DreamCast she also had a gamegear (sega's handheld) I had the gameboy color at the time. My cousin's mostly girls they saw me playing my Gameboy color & we took turns playing it getting them hooked on it with the game: Rugrats Totally Angelica GBC. I later gave them my GBC with ducktales gb & pokemon red gb when I upgraded to the GBA lol~ 🤣 We played at friends houses all the time. My one friend had the super game boy to play gameboy games on the snes~ ❤ Great memories~ ❤

My memory of my parents getting the NES is very vague....I was five at the time. I definitely remember my excitement when they got me Super Mario 3! I do have a very clear memory, though when I first got the Super Nintendo packed with Super Mario World. I was ecstatic, wowed.....I mean any kind of hyperbolic word you can think of. To this day, I still think the SNES is the best console of all time and the one that brought me countless joy with its many awesome games. I missed out on the Genesis at the time though, because my parents were reluctant to buy me another console. I still played some Genesis games over my friend's place. Good times, good times. I love this youtube channel. Keep it up Tyler!

Thanks Tyler! That was my brother playing. I was laying on the floor next to him. I'm pretty sure he was playing Super Castlevania IV. Notice the dustcover on the game in the system. I didn't want to lose them so I put them on the top while we were playing.

Love this. I've always been so jealous but happy about how much of your childhood was filmed. Its really cool to see it. Growing up, we barely took pictures or anything so I basically only have a handful of images from my youth. Great video Tyler.

Man, what a great episode! I really wanted to contribute when you asked for this and I'm sad I couldn't find anything. My family was always bad at taking a lot of photos, we have very few and a lot of stuff was also lost in a fire before we moved to Florida. All those chill january mornings (I am mexican so I got my "bigger" gifts on January 6th) the smell of the cold air, the body trembling (because of the cold or the sheer excitment? Who knows), the expectation of finding all those boxes under the xmas tree filled with my happiest memories alongside my big bro, hours and hours of pure joy. Thanks again for your channel and to all the people who shared those special photos, that I am sure are very personal. I particularly teared a little with the Coleco story. 😃

The Game Com photo also has the Home Alone 2 recorder toy. Maybe is not videogame, but who didn't wanted one after seeing Kevin McAllister using it in the movie. I wish my uncle or cousins took a picture of me "trying" to play Diddy Kong Racing and always singing the car in the water hahahahahaha, I confess I only wanted to do that in the game. And maybe, one of me opening my first videogame for PC "Age of Mythology". But damn it, It seems like that wasn't the case. Cool video by the way.

Gamecube and Dreamcast are still my absolute favorite. I was a huge Sega Genesis fan when it came out and the Nintendo, all those consoles but when these 2 specific consoles came out, it was on a whole other level of magic, still play the gamecube all of the time, looking to pickup another Dreamcast

Wow! I'm glad you mentioned Jaws on the NES, that was the very first NES game I've ever played. Or attempted to play. Must've been 6, I'm watching my older play as I usually did with most videogames, and he hands me the controller on one of the underwater levels "here you go!" And I had no idea what I'm doing!

Great video! This is so beautiful. All these happy retro moments people have. I couldn't find any of the photos, but I'd still like to share one of my stories: It was my 8th birthday in early june 1992. I had been asking for a gameboy for what i felt was an eternity. I was so excited on that morning, laying awake hearing my parents wisper and making breakfast and wrapping something. I heard them going up the stairs to the floor where my room was. I immediately pretended that i was asleep. They opened the door and and sang "Ja må hon leva" which is our "happy birthday song". They had breakfast and chocolate, but my focus were on those presents. I opened the first one and it was a gameboy game. I said "but this is for gameboy, i dont have one". My dad said " thats too bad, I thought it was a nes game, we can go and exchange it to a nes game instead". Then I opened the second and 3rd last present i could see and they were both gameboy games. The disappointment was in the air. Then my patents said there was one more little present that i might like. They gave me the present and i opened it. It was the gameboy system! I couldn't wait to play it. Then my parents said that if I wanted to play the game, I could stay home from school that day. It was one of the greatest birthdays ever. I played that gameboy soo much for so long. I always brought that in the summers when staying with my grandparents at their summer house. Looking back at it, I think it's the system I played the most hours on. I still have that exact gameboy, and it's in perfect condition. Always a beautiful memory to look back on. 🥰❤️🫧

Love this video, and I can definitely related to being in the “game Zone”, my mom would get so mad at me. She would be standing right behind calling me for dinner and I wouldn’t hear a word.

I noticed on the SMB3 pic the one kid helping him hold up the game had on a sweet tmnt shirt with the turtle’s names on it. Pretty awesome

This would be a great series! I don't know if I have many photos, I'd have to raid things at my parents house to find out. But please do this as a future repeat series, it is fun to see these past times, even if they were simple photos.

Used to love when my parents would do the whole "I forgot a present, one second. It's nothing special..." and it turns out to be a new console or some insanely lauded game like Zelda.

Such an awesome video! And so many amazing photos! I definitely had tons of photos of me playing or receiving games growing up, but sadly we lost all of these photos and many more to a flood in our basement in 2009 when I was 12. This video certainly brought back many of my own gaming memories though!

Man I really wished my family and friends didn't make me feel bad for liking video games growing up. We had NES and SNES, but my older brothers would never want to play with me. In fact they would kick me out of the room whenever they were playing; wasn't even allowed to watch them. The little friends I had, would play games but very casually. I was kinda made feel ashamed for liking video games as much as I did. I would play mostly by myself and kinda grew up a loner because of this. Eventually, my oldest brother moved out of the house and became nicer. He kinda made up for being such a jerk to me growing up. One Christmas morning, he gave me Banjo Kazooie, Turok 2, a year subscription to Nintendo Power AND a mountain bike, so yeah, that was a good day. Wish I had pictures of that Christmas morning.

I don't have any photos or videos of me with my old games but I have some great vivid memories playing NES games with my dad in the late 90's. I am from a country where the NES was never released (and the SNES, N64, PS1 were insanly expensive), so we resorted to cheap Famiclones called Terminator (some looked like s Mega Drive 2, some looked like a keyboard with a cartridge slot). The games were pretty much the same and they came on little yellow cartriges. I will always remember going out with my dad at the local flea market to pick up a new game. Usually the label had nothing to do with the actual game so it was a lucky draw. I played a lot of Super Mario Bros, Battle Tanks, Shadow of the ninja, Infiltrator and so many more with my dad. Also, my uncle an cousin used to come by a lot and they also had a famiclone with a lot of games that we traded. My cousin introduced me to one of my favourite games Batman and Flash ( a rom hack of Monsters In my Pocket). We played the heck out of that one.

My most cherished Christmas moment was when I got the OG PlayStation in 97. I actually secretly opened it before, only to realize that I needed an RF adapter and a memory card. I got caught. Amazing game console.

I got a Gamecom really cheap in an Asda. Literally £20 back in the day. Had never experienced a touchscreen before that point.

Great video!! My best Christmas ever was when I got N64. Pure magic playing Mario in 3D. I also remember the Christmas I got Shenmue for Dreamcast being really magical 😊

This is so cool I love seeing pictures of gamer kids from the 80s. I'm 37 so I remember Nintendo and those were the good old days. Well I do love my ps5 though hehe

I dont have any picture of me holding a console, but I remember having a sega genesis in 1993 with sonic 3 ( that my dad rent) I remember being super excited that I couldnt shut up about it xD. This is what make me a sega fan like your dad, because I grew up being used to the control especially for Street fighter 2 that you have to press start to switch for punch and kick. Today as a vega main, I found that difficult, playing him on a 3 buttons genesis x).

I love retro games and I'm happy to have grown up with Sony PlayStation 1 and Nintendo. I enjoy seeing these wonderful classic gaming pictures of the community. The Nintendo GameCube part was amazing because I loved those Nintendo GameCube days. Although It wasn't huge like the Sony PlayStation 2. The Nintendo GameCube had so much heart and I love It. Cool video. ^_^

Sadly, we didn't have camera when I was a kid. There are very few photos of my childhood. I would love to have a photography when I got my first NES. Those were hard times and someone gave an used NES to my dad and he brought it home for me 😢

My parents always had a thing about buying me a console once in awhile for Christmas, but they never got me any games. So the majority of the gaming that I did was when friends would let me borrow games or bring them over. 😔

Wish I had a picture of when my dad had his usual “Browns gathering” in our basement which was on one side of the basement and our Nintendo was set up on the other and we took off to the backyard but left the Nintendo beep* bop* booping* while the Browns gave up a last sec touchdown to lose the game so my dad walked over and with one swing of his “hammer fist” smashed the Nintendo to pieces….he bought us a new one
