A.J. had just turned 12 here. She got that mike for her 12th birthday. I can imagine her telling her mom , while we are waiting for dinner to be ready I think I'll try out my new mike. This is what we got. Pure perfection. Nobody does it better than Angelina!

Hi Maria, hope all is well with you. Sound was a little bit low on the video but otherwise a great reaction as always. She is really demonstrating here at a young age her use of vocal fry perhaps at an extreme. But it is warranted for Etta James and Angelina I think really pulls it off very well. 103mrg, a great angel, recently posted this about this performance. Boris, who originally uploaded the video, had this to say: "The video was taken some time before the audio. The audio is presumably taken right before the original video had been published, when Angelina was 13 already. The original audio and video were out of sync in 3 places, 2 of them had been slightly hidden here. Concluding from Angelina's look and outfit, the video had been taken the same day when the photo of Angelina holding a strange carrot had been taken, which was posted in Instagram in May, 2018. Also, she holds her microphone backwards, and in her hands, instead of placing it on the microphone stand, which may indicate the lack of experience of using this microphone before. The first photo of the new Angelina's equipment, still packed, appeared in Michael's stories on April 4th, 2018, if I'm not mistaken, and on April 6th, 2018, the video of Angelina already playing her new AKAI synthesiser was posted by Forswarets Stabsmusikkorps Facebook account, where she invited people to attend their concert with her in Oslo, June 16th.

This performance stands along with her new track "It's all my Fault" because of it's similarities in vocal performance. I can see where some of her early performances or rehearsals has paved the way to her advanced musicality.

As other comments, it's just like she goes into her vocal vault and thinks what to do on this cover🤔 and then pulls this out haha Great example of her amazing breath control, I thought the last phrase was amazingly long at that power level ❤

She is 12 yo in this experimenting with the use of vocal fry. She definitely has her fry turned up to 11 on this version. You're right she hypnotizes you with her singing & you forget what you are suppose to be doing. The only problem was the volume of her singing was much lower than your mic, so turn her up on the next one.

Or, were both done at different times when she was age 12, then combined and published in 2019 after she turned 13?

@@andyschnell58 He's quoting Boris and that quote seems to have some ambiguity in it. Or, maybe it's just my lack of ability to follow the thread. Wouldn't be the first time. It's just that it seems she's getting away from us and "herstory" is piling up more quickly than I can follow it Will fame bring some resolution to some of our questions or just generate more myths I wonder. Not that the myths aren't fun but, a few hundred years from now I wonder if we will even recognize the wonderful girl/woman they'll be referring to as Angelina Jordan.

Love your reaction, I understand you are getting used to your new editing software, one suggestion is you need to balance your voice volume with the video volume, for this reaction your voice was much louder than the video volume. I am sure you will get the balance sorted soon 👍
