A 12 yr old girl in a red flannel shirt absolutely kills this song, Rhiana had to do this naked in a bath tub to impress, not AJ, just pure talent. Thanks for writing this for her Rhiana.

I couldn't have said it better. Even though it is a home recording, I feel this is a clear upgrade to the Rhiana version. It is one of my favorite of her covers during this period.

Angelina's performance in a word was spectacular. Yes, she paid homage to the song and the artist but by the time she finished the song her version became a separate entity full of colors and made a listener just shake their head at the end because they could not believe what they just heard. Note: The guitar player did recover and played for her again. 🙂 I heard you say you wanted to stay clear of Bohemian Rhapsody. By now you've heard enough of Angelina to get an idea you don't know exactly what you are about to hear but you know it will be tremendous. Please check her out singing HER VERSION of Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT/The Champions. Note: She performed on the Show basically to get recognized by the greater USA audience and the rest of the western world. I can make a broad statement and say, 'mission accomplished'.

No surprise this performance by Angelina was included on the first reaction video, reacting to her, to reach one million views. Sandy, on her Smylyface channel only knew Angelina was 12 years old for her first time hearing Angelina. Sandy then searched for another Angelina video and the one she chose, "Always On My Mind" made for a organically created, heart wrenching reaction. Notice her looking to the left of her; during the song, she’s looking at the lyrics. It's just incredible that she can sing the song with that much range and emotion when she’s singing it for the first time. Yes, also for Bohemian Rhapsody, please, um, recognize rather than react to that song, just because it’s such a momentous song for her. I think all the angels would love your partial reaction to that song, and also, she did that song at different venues; maybe you can pick one of those to do a full reaction?

Another outstanding performance by our barefoot princess. She totally sounds better than the original. If you watch her "Diamonds Are Forever" performance, you'll see the three horn players behind her are just as interesting to watch as they get totally into the song.

Ivan Mendez was Angelina's (12y) guitarist in LA in 2018. In an interview with Alan Papier on his RU-vid channel, Ivan told the story of how the cover's came about. In a nutshell "Angelina doesn't have a wish list of songs, she decides spontaneously if she likes a song. After hearing a song she says great song and has downloaded the lyrics. OK, well, let's start, just follow me". Then the cover was recorded in one take, Angelina sang the song here for the first time after her arrangement without rehearsing beforehand. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣 Update: Be sure to check out Ivan Mendez's interview with Alan Papier on RU-vid. This is in the top 5 of every song Angelina has ever posted! Watch her hands as she emotes this pleading love song. Rhianna Had a pounding piano, AJ has a soft guitar. RH is nude in a bathtub, AJ is in a plaid shirt sitting on a chair. RH is a beauty with a very nice voice. AJ is cute here, beauty now, with the best voice period!

When Rihanna sang it, it was a song of hope: you knew the other one would stay and there would be a happy ever after ending. Angelina pours in melancholy & sadness and changes the story: she is asking the other to stay but already knows it's hopeless. So just by changing the tone of voice she changes the story of the song. I don't mind covers being far away from the original or staying closer. I prefer covers being original in some fashion and not just a bland copy. Angelina doesn't just copy and sometimes really changes the song around and sometimes stays closer, but always puts in bunches of herself.

This is another one of AJs 1 take wonders ,, The guitarist comes over , they start scrolling threw a list of songs,, they decide one one, and the guitarist will learn the cords for 10 or 15 minutes and then says he I'd ready ,, she looks up the lyrics and turns the recorder on and he hears this just like we hear it for the first time,,, when it's done that's It!! They move on to the next song!!

The way she ends this (the two runs on "Staaaaaaaaay") might be the most beautiful ending of any song, ever. And I always feel for poor Ivan, trying to concentrate and keep it together while obviously being deeply affected (and possibly slightly distracted) by the incredible performance Angelina is casually delivering in the seat next to him. I also love watching Angelina sing with her hands.

I love seeing Ivan's reactions when Angelina sings. How does it feel to be sitting right next to such an immense talent? If you want to see his best stank face, check out A Million Years Ago. Same set-up, same one-off almost unrehearsed performance. Catch a glimpse of Ivan looking at her with unrestrained admiration and awe as she goes into the first high section. Twelve year old Angelina’s vocal acumen was already equal to and beyond Rhianna’s. Angelina was singing this song for the first time while reading the lyrics on her iPad.

Rhianna had a huge hit with this song which was professionally recorded after who knows how many 'takes'. Now, examine the fact that this is an 'at home' jam session where Angelina and her guitar playing friend Ivan aren't totally familiar with the song but decided to do it anyway. Ivan follows Angelina's lead as best he can, which she has to refer to a tablet at her side for the lyrics. While she's doing this 'on the fly' in 'one take', she rearranges the song as she's singing it and comes forth with a rendition that has more emotion laden penetration than Rhianna. You do know that Rhianna has sold over 100 million records, don't you? This girl is insanely gifted and proves it right here.

Have you heard/seen the songs on the EP she released with Republic Records. The album is aptly called "Old Enough." There are 2 videos that sprang from this album that are superb. The latest was released when the album dropped on 21 JUL 23, and is called "Now I'm the Fool." I can't count the number of times I've heard it over the past 3 days. It’s always fun to watch Ivan’s facial expressions because you have to realize that he is most of the time hearing Angelina sing the song for the first time! Yes, most of their songs are first takes, and as you will notice, she is reading the lyrics off to the side. He played for her the summer of her 12th year of age, and their collaboration was always Magic!

Can you turn on the subtitles please??? As you probably know, Angelina's fans come from all over the world and the level of English varies, especially in American English, which can be very difficult for the untrained to understand. Ivan is reeling from her voice. He’s awesome. As to you reacting to music you have heard or rather re-experiencing it. For instance. I don’t ever seem to get used to or at all disenchanted listening to AJ. I feel like I am listening to it anew all over again. Hope to see what you think and feel about songs you know too.

Maria, this was one of the first two songs I ever heard from Angelina and it blew my mind. A 12-year-old vocal performance rivaling Rhianna, not just in technique but most importantly in emotional character. It's hard to say that she is better than Rhianna but I have to say it for this performance. I feel something when she is singing that I don't feel from the original artist in this case. Piece and love.
