Both situations had happened to me. Once I wore a pair of gloves while mowing the lawn and my mom started to yell at me “where did you get those gloves?” I didn’t answer and got slapped. Slapped again later for screaming.

My mother is a round, brown beautiful ball of sadistic Mexican nightmare fuel. She used to carry a wooden spoon in her purse that she'd draw like a Latina samurai at home, or in public. At the store and sass back? WHACK!!! At church being disrespectful? I'm raptured into the nearest bathroom and...THWACK!!! The day she discovered that plastic serving spoons could cup the cheek without breaking? It was like Feliz Navidad in July. I once asked her why she didn't use a slipper like grandma. She said, "Mijo, too much cushion." Edit: Read post 50 for the obligatory, "thanks for the likes" bit. Seriously though, thanks.

After that I tried to hide the window keys in my drawer preventing them for doing it again, at that time I thought they were serious. @Emperor It was a bluff dude they wouldn't beat you to death or beat you for no reason (obviously if they did beat us too bad teachers and neighbors would notice the numerous bruises and that would be child abuse). It doesn't mean they didnt show us love this was a discipline and time outs might have worked on you but not all kids are the same. Nobody knows a kid better than their parents and nobody loves that kid more. So many of us were hit as kids and have grown to really LOVE and RESPECT our parents. No need to be so outraged.

Emperor your soft. 🤷‍♂️
@imblackie9772
@imblackie9772 4 года назад
Emperor I can understand punching unless a whole fight broke out but getting whooped is not abuse. Taking away a phone, slapping, and timeouts don’t always work sometimes they need extra discipline a whooping with a belt is not going to scar a child they just know that if they dont fuck up they wont have to worry about getting whooped im pretty sure everyones been hit with a belt atleast once. And ive been hit by multiple things but i dont fear my parents because i was disciplined. If your kid starts talking all types of mad shit towards you. You think a time out, a slap, and some electronics away is gonna work because they will get used to it and keep doing the same thing until they know they dont fuck with mama or pops. Not all kids are the same and not all videos show what happens. That girl you was talking about I dont know how old she was but if she stole something or did something greatly disapproval then she probably deserved it. Now if she is younger 5-11 it all depends.

Its not a white or black thing its a cultural thing. As a Bosnian I can say I go my fair share of beatings, we use to live on the 4th floor apartment and my mum would go down and across the road and grab a switch off the tree and me and my brother would watch her do it and the anticipation for that beating was worse than the beating at times. I remember my dad used to get angry at how much me and my brother would play Sega that he would take the power cables away and hide them in his room so we couldn't play, we took them back from his room once and when he got home and saw us playing... He beat us with the cable.

White Dad, and Mexican Mom. Dad never whooped me, believed in the whole “talking, grounding, ect.” because that was as how he was raised. Mom? Could throw a spoon around the corner into the hallway, through my door, and clock me in the back of my head for even THINKING of doing anything. Now, love my Dad, but I have so much more respect for my Mom because she wouldn’t let me or my brother, or anyone walk over her. Dad would let us do whatever we wanted so it was hard for him to be a parent. Even now, as an adult, I still respect him, but I still find it hard to take him seriously sometimes.

You can't get much whiter than me but I gotta say my mama put the fear of God in me at a young age. She had a leather belt with the name "Earline" stamped on it. She said she found it in the road somewhere. I had no idea who Earline was but so many times I wished she'd show up to claim her belt. Mom would swoop down like a hawk on a rabbit, grab my shoulder with one hand and start whipping with the other. If I took off running I'd just run in a circle around her. With every whack "I **whack** told **whack** you **whack** not **whack** to **whack** do **whack** that **whack** but **whack** you **whack** did **whack** it **whack** any **whack** way! **whack**" (Anyway got two whacks) She loved us and was the greatest mom but she did not play.

I caught the TAIL END of those types of butt whipping. I remember my mom and my late grandma telling me get a big branch to whip my tail and I would always get the TINIEST branch I could find. To make a long story short....my mom ripped out a nice thick long branch, told me to pull my pants down....IN PUBLIC....and she proceeded in whipping my butt. And while I'm glad that stopped as.I got a little bit older....I grew up fearing my mom. Another funny episode (well...NOT funny at the time) involved me CUTTING UP bad over at my Aunt's house. My mom threatened to spank me once we got home. When we got home....I raced to my room, put my jammies on, hopped on my bed and put the covers over me as I faked sleeping. My dad never whooped me, but he did make me see the milky way a lot of time. One time I started to walk away from him while he was talking to me. The next thing I knew I was seeing stars, planets, the moons around the planets and an alien in a UFO looking at me shaking his head. Mom's wasn't any better. She was a damn weapons expert.

My late father used to be sailor and fought competitively, something that was only known later in my life. He used to whoop me all the way to town and back when I got into fights because I was hooked on it. All those ass whooping I received made me a better person and who I am today. Imagine having to receive a hook and uppercut combo when he found out that I got into a fight in school 😅

I will premise this by saying that I am a firm believer in the whoop ass when needed. I was getting on my son about not doing his homework neatly. This escalated to him saying that he was going to run away to grandma's. I said fine, go, but you can only take with you the things that you own. He started going to pack and everything he touched I countered that either his mother or I bought. Long story short, he ended up standing naked on the front porch with a box of Pokemon cards wanting a ride to grandma's. This lasted about 30 seconds being almost winter in Western PA. He came back in, said he was sorry, put the clothes we bought for him back on and redid his schoolwork after about 30 minutes of sulking.

There is a difference between punishment and physical abuse. When it goes into bruises and broken bones, you'd better call CPS and wait for them at the neighbor's house!! I got my share of whoopings growing up, cause I got a mouth on me, and my parents were big on their children speaking their minds...just had to learn to keep it respectful. I was told plenty of times by my mom "I brought you in this world, and I'll take you out of it."

What gets me is that I would have never even dreamed of saying anything like that to my parents. The whole “I’ll call child services” bit didn’t even cross mine or my siblings minds, instead we just learned early on that if we even looked like we wanted to act up we’d catch hands!

She said here you go! Go ahead but while your at it you better call an ambulance because your gonna need one by the time they get here! Needless to say I took the ass whooping that was probably twice what I would have gotten ( thanks to my threat) and never threatened my mom again! Because I KNEW better.

This one sticks to me: Growing up in the household, and my dad had just recently retired from the military, he would instill spartan like discipline on us. i remember I asked my dad if I could sleep in a little longer on the first day of school. When he says it’s fine, it only meant 30 more minutes. Dad burst in the room and says “it’s past 5:30am, get up (we were used to wake up at 5:00 on school days)”. I was still half asleep and didnt want to get up. He yelled “get up!”, grabbed my shirt collar to prop me up, turn around and whacked with a belt buckle.

Parents now have had their rights taken away and now the kids are growing up spoiled ,hateful, rude , disrespectful, and entitled. Some are even growing up beating on their Mothers. I'm grateful for the whippings I got. It made Me a better person. I've got respect as well as self respect.

I didn't get smacked around all that much. I got whooped time to time, mouth washed out, my toys/electronics broken or thrown away; but rarely smacked up. Not because my mother didn't believe in physical discipline, it's because I was smart enough not to push it, or test my mother-- my brother on the other hand, not so smart in that department. He got whooped a lot, and I just watched and told myself "Don't piss off mama."
