Don't feel bad. That's what this song does to everybody. I have long maintained this is the most beautiful piece of music ever written. 43 year old grown man and I can listen to it a thousand times in a row, and I WILL cry every time. And that is EXACTLY what music is meant to do. Evoke your emotions. To connect with you and make you feel something. I love it.

This was an absolutely incredible reaction! I don't comment on any videos really but your reaction and the commentary at the end was so eloquently put. Evanescence has been my all time favourite band since they first made it big and this song in particular holds a TON of special meaning to me. Seeing them live a few years ago was a real dream come true. I really hope you react to more of them in the future. ALL of their songs as well as Amy's solo stuff and covers are out of this world awe inspiring. There are SO many amazing tracks but if you get the chance please check out Everybody's Fool, Lithium, or Good Enough. Those three have music videos but you really can't go wrong with any Evanescence song lol. Thanks so much for the heartfelt and genuine reaction and also your words afterwards. Can't wait to watch more of your videos! Blessings to you 🙏

I was six years old when this came out, the first time I heard this song I was on the bus ride home from school and I lost it and every other time I heard it on the bus radio I'd start crying again. Didn't know what it was called or who performed it until my teen years when I randomly found this music video, and although I didn't cry again I felt so moved by it. So I'm into music charts and stats and all that kinda stuff, and for the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Top 40 it peaked at 7th, which considering that they're an emo hard-rock band that's an amazing accomplishment even for 2003/2004 when that kind of music was much more mainstream. But what I find more impressive is that Billboard ranked it 48th on the all-decade chart for the 2000's. Also went platinum in four countries, including the US and UK.

It’s a very emotive, exquisitely sung and beautifully arranged piece of epic music. The song hits home for a lot of us i had an ex wife that always was worried and scared of everything and would call i would rush home from work to look around the house and always was her rock when she needed and then she just left and wouldn't even talk to me and then when i needed her she was gone and i couldn't even talk to her it ended up being another man and her love just went just like that. It was exactly around the time this song came out i would constantly cry when i heard it and still my eyes get watery. But i know everyone must get hit by this song Nice Reaction

This song will invoke emotion is just about everywhere. 30 different people, 30 different circumstances. All of whom are reached at different levels. I was 23 when this came out. At that point in my life, I saw a lot of loss. Friends, my Grandparents, relationships. To say I was a mess when I heard this would be an understatement. 20 years later, and I still feel that emotional connection. It's a true talent that can keep a song relative two decades later.

Her... Tone... You mean her specialist post-production? Layering of a few slightly different tracks on top of each other, echoing the main ones with a very tiny delay(or, actually, reverb) to make it sound fuller, panning out of specific layers to each ear to make it sound "wider", etc? Yeah... Uhm... Listen to them live. She does have a nice voice, but it is nowhere close to what you can hear in the studio versions. I could probably record you and make you sound almost as good. Not saying she's a bad singer. She is good. Very good even. But the way it sounds in studio versions has little to do with her skill and almost all to do with the skill of her sound technicians and producers.

Hello again Psyche! What good timing. I had just requested you do this song last night on your Bring Me To Life reaction. I told you that I would be surprised if you didn’t cry. Most people do, especially if they know the background story of the song. According to Lee, it was "Ben Moody's song." Moody said that the song talks about "a spirit staying with you after its death and haunting you until you actually wish that the spirit were gone because it won't leave you alone." Very deep and sad. Thank you for reacting to this video and for your sincere reaction.

Hello Steve thank you for your kind comments, much appreciated. I do not take requests as I do not get paid for that as it's a service. Subscribing just notifies people but doesn't pay the channel as all the revenue goes to the artist, so essentially we are marketing them for free and I give my time for free. The rest of my time I need to earn a living ☺️. I play songs so people can then go on and research themselves which hopefully people will do. Have a wonderful Thursday and keep safe. Psyche 🙋🏽‍♀️🕊

For the "record": "The lyrics of the song refer to a spirit that haunts the memory of a grieving loved one. Similar to several other songs written by [Ben] Moody, the lyrics of the song are based on a short story he had previously written.[According to Lee, it was "Ben [Moody]'s song." Moody said that the song talks about "a spirit staying with you after its death and haunting you until you actually wish that the spirit were gone because it won't leave you alone." He also stated in the booklet of Fallen that he dedicated the song to his grandfather, Bill Holcomb. In "My Immortal", Lee expresses her feelings through the line, "Though you're still with me / I've been alone all along.A writer for IGN said that "'My Immortal' is a song of pain and despair caused by the loss of a family member or very close friend and how it drove her [Lee] to the edge of insanity."
