Oh man the detail that Eury is one of the guys holding the torches. He lit up six torches because Scylla has six heads, and you can’t pass through her grotto without her snatching at least one man for every head. Odysseus might have intentionally been trying to get Eury killed by having him hold one of the torches. (Maybe not a mistake considering what he does immediately after)
Ody just said to light six torches, he didn’t care who held them. (Which honestly might be worse) I think Eury passed his torch on so he could use both hands, or maybe so the other person could see better. When the person he passed it to died Eury figured out it was the torches drawing their attention. A least that’s my take on it.
The Scylla animatic in my opinion beats everything else in the lifestream The chills I had when watching it and hearing the audio for the first time I will remember forever
My favourite things about the Scylla song is that her singing is accurate to BOTH Odysseus and Eurylochus by that point. Eurylochus has from the beginning been a character whose first priority is himself - a counterpoint to Odysseus who until the end of Act 1 sought whatever solution would do the least amount of harm, no matter how outlandish, in memory of Polites. Now that Odysseus has finally succumbed to that same mindset, that no acts is too ruthless if it ensures that at least some of those still alive make it home, Eury can't trust in having his unconditional protection. Because he would sacrifice Odysseus to live longer (or even just die on his own terms), and Odysseus having abandoned his ideals, would do the same to him if pushed to it. Which we see come true in Thunder Bringer. Would you sacrifice your life for people who have betrayed you not once but twice, and brought untold horrors unto themselves each time, the second against your desperate pleas?
Literally I been saying this. Idk if I'm fucking crazy but that's what you fucking get?? He literally opened the bag. They would have been home?????? Fuck you eurylochus? They would have been home years ago if the bag stayed shut. He then tried to sacrifice everyone to circe to escape. Hell dude he shot the sheep of polyphemus dude. None of any of this shit would have happened if eurylochus died in the trojan war. Then he killed his entire crew or his captain with 0 care for repercussions when he killed the cow. HE GAVE UP AGAIN. LIKE COME ON DAWG. They guilt tripped odysseus into thinking he was the only person to blame and essentially told him to give up his ideals. So he became rutheless. Handing out the torches to the six sacrifices was for sure ruthless but they made him like that. and then he still got upset at odysseus like he didnt know what he would choose since they turned him into a ruthless monster. And back on the hypocrite train but LITERALLY A DAY AFTER GETTING MAD AND FIGHTING ODYSSEUS FOR SACRFICING MEN, HE THEN GOES ON TO SACRIFICE THE ENTIRE CREW SO HE COULD GET HIS PROTEIN IN. LIKE DUDEEEEEE. The point isn't odysseus did nothing wrong.the point is they really gaslight him into thinking he was the only person who did wrong.
That was so much fun to watch with you. Thunderbringer was my most anticipated song from the entire musical. Well… I was looking forward to “Your Light” the most but it was cut.
I love the new thunder saga songs, but I don't love some of line reads on the reworked songs. The cyclops and Athena feel like they have a bit less passion to me
Honestly I kinda disagree, I feel like it gave more emotions, but that’s just my opinion, I love them both but the new ones just tickle my brain in a certain way
