One of the most amazing concert videos of all time. It's a transcendent experience. Suggest Don't Give Up from the very same concert. Paula Cole kills it in each song.
If you get the chance, this entire concert is available on RU-vid. It's well worth watching. The African gentleman was Papa Wemba who was a very popular rock and pop musician, and the female singer is Paula Cole. This was her first tour out of college. If you don't have the time to watch the entire concert, one more song from it that is well worth your time is Shaking The Tree. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FMsRElqSupM.html
He knocked it out the park. World music, diversity (maybe more females on stage), he led the way and his stage shows are amazing. Saw him on tour Glasgow on his So tour in the 1980s. He led the way.
I've always loved this song and I highly doubt I'll ever tire of it. I was born in the 70's so I've known this song for a very long time. This video makes me regret never seeing him and the crue live.
I also missed seeing him live back in his prime and would sell an arm and leg to go back in time and experience. Luckily, Peter still tours from time to time.
The bluray of Secret World the 1993 tour is regarded by audiophiles as one of the best sounding concert movies ever. Was also technically groundbreaking at the time.
This was one of my all-time favorite concerts (at Oakland Coliseum). Instead of Paula Cole (who's amazing) he had Sinead O'Connor singing with him that night. The energy was incredible.
The entire Secret World Live concert DVD that this performance is from is one of my Top 5 favorite concerts of all time. Check out Shaking The Tree from this video as well...just as amazing, mesmerizing and entertaining!
Whew, glad you liked it! Thanks so much for checking it out. If you're looking for more to check out, here's a few suggestions: 1: DISTURBED "The Sound Of Silence" Live On Conan: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bk7RVw3I8eg.html 2: FOCUS "Hocus Pocus" Live: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g4ouPGGLI6Q.html This was, maybe still is, one of the fastest songs I've ever seen played, this is way back in 1973! 3:...and this one I added 'cause you're a dad (me too). Peter Gabriel: Years ago, when he was going through a divorce, his youngest daughter wasn't able to vocalize the sadness, anger and frustration she felt so she stopped talking to him. He was very hurt and wrote "Come Talk To Me". Years later, he performed this Live in concert, with his daughter Melanie, now grown and a singer herself. It's a powerful performance when you know the backstory. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CqYFu_Sfnus.html
Awesome reaction vid. I been metal head since the phrase "heavy metal " was coined by critic to describe black Sabbath lol. But there are a few non_metal artists I really enjoy ( David Byrne, Brian eno , Bauhaus, Vic thrill , jethro tull etc) but by far the best is Peter Gabriel... By far and this was one of his so so songs.. He is a genius
Saw this live. In Your Eyes was great but it was not the highlight. Come Talk to Me and San Jacinto were as good as...fuck it. This is what I love about life. Thanks Peter
If you like his voice you might try Genesis 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' and tell me you don't like the first three song at the beginning of the double album. The whole album thing is a trip.
Another guy who infuses African style rhythms in his music.. this song is awesome.. You and your daughter must react to the MIGHTY ZEPPELIN.. How Many More Times live at the Royal Alber Hall in 1970.. I'll keep posting it till u do.. do it up..
