When I first discovered them I could not get enough of their music. That was almost 4 yrs ago. I have listened to them everyday since then, except when I was in the hospital. I would be lost not being able to listen to them. Getting to know Nightwish has connected me to all of these Nightwish fans. What a great group of people who genuinely care for each other that were brought together from all over the world by Nightwish.............. :-)
Ann, I feel the same way. I found Nightwish through a recommended channel by You Tube. I've been listening for about 4 months now. The usual, "I don't know why I had not found them before. I have to listen to 5-6 of their songs a day or I feel deprived. I'm 74 and I don't think any of my kids or grand kids have heard of them. It's time to listen to Grandpa!!!!!
@@ruma9687 I think it is really a lack of exposure, to be honest. Most of us here in the states that listen to Nightwish I dare say probably found them on the internet (this is a supposition on my part). It seems like the big record companies here really have a lot of control over what people hear, and therefore, what they listen to. Many even include crap in their contracts about what an artist or band is even allowed to record. So, I believe that if there was less record label control and more exposure, more people in the U.S. would flock to this band, like they do in Europe and South America.
@@GothicElf68not doubting what you said. Scale is different since we are a small country but the same thing happens here. If a mediacompany owns biggest tv and radiostations and a recordcompany, you don't need to guess twice which artists get more coverage, their own or the others. You only hear Nemo or Amaranth from Nightwish these days in Finland too on commercial radio
@@ruma9687 That's because Nemo and Amaranth are more 'commercial'. I hate that word, but they're 'soft' enough not to make people change the channel. Radio stations want people not to turn off, so they won't play metal tracks on the mainstream stations. Only the lighter stuff.
Richard Dawkins you say?? Check out Nightwish's Masterpiece:" The Greatest show Earth" live in Tampere, Finland (their homeland) narrator in a song is Richard D. At the beginning and the end... also in ending credits
@@iirockstar23562 I meant in general. I was not talking about reacting. You mentioned Richard Dawkins and just the fact that he joined the stage with Nightwish in Wembley was worth mentioning in my opinion :-).
I'm also trying to see as many reactions to them as possible, which is getting harder every day with my growing list of other great/amazing metal bands to listen/follow in YT & Spotify. Too little time but so much good metal out there (and other kind of music too). Can anybody build me a time machine?
I think its so. When anybody ask about what is music i will say Nightwish. So you can listen to incedible music. In this Band you can have it all. Hard Riffs amazing singing, in one word Complete
This is my first Nightwish song and the one that made me fall in love with them. For Floor to even improve that (in my opinion) the way she has blew me away, as does every performance I see her do. The Greatest Show on Earth is a must for you now man, you gotta do it :)
I agree with your point of view, that good music is good music, no matter where it's found. As Eddie Van Halen once said, "there's no such thing as 'bad music'. There's just stuff you don't like."
I've been a fan of Nightwish since 2005. I own 7 of their albums, I think. They always give you something different, often in the same song. The addition of Floor and Troy as full-time members in 2013 was inspired. As a US fan, I have introduced many friends to their music - I'm doing my best to bring great music back to the states!
lol - yes Romanticide - a wild ride from start to finish !! i was lucky, about 7 months ago i was introduced to Nightwish G.L.S. Wacken 2013 - and have not been disappointed. wish i was in my 20's - am pushing 60 - and i also cant believe i never heard of Nightwish till recently... great reaction !!!
DOOOOD! Can anyone still breathing not react with WOW? Your comments about the way "metal-heads" get treated is spot-on!!! Amen to a broad interest in music of ALL genres. Some artists spoil their music for me by other things/habits/actions but the great ones can always be forgiven most things!
That out of this world, haunting, vocal slide from Floor at the end has to be one of the most epic vocal parts in Metal.....! Actually, the whole concert is legendary, in my opinion!
First of all I love how you described metal and your love for music, I share your opinion and I also love a good song no matter the genere of music. Nightwish is just .... I just love them a bit more than anything else I love in music. They are just addictive and hipnotic with their unique sound, style and with Floor I just got what I was missing in singers before her.
Great Reaction!!! Made my Friday!!! These guys are incredible!!! And the Nightwish community is definitely the best!!! Thanks for your time and doing this!!!
Marco Hietala, the bass player, has a solid musical formation and is lead singer in some songs. His harmony and range is impressive for a rock vocalist. And the other musicians a real so great.
Nightwish is a band that sounds better live. You will probably like Everdream (live from.Wakken) or Bless the Child (wakken again). Pretty much every song from that concert is great.
Awesome performance, great song. Nice reaction as well, mate. What you’ve had to say after both this and the Weak Fantasy react has been honest and solid.
Never enough Nightwish! Never enough Floor Jansen! #NightwishArmy I wanna see you react to simone simons (Epica) and Floor Jansen (Nightwish). They sing a beautiful old Maria hymn together called: Stabat Matar Dolorosa.
Good comments and analysis of this genre and Nightwish. I do not know a single NW song since 1996 which could dissapoint me. And this comment includes "Lappi" and "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" up to "GSOE" ...and all between...
You should check out the whole Wacken 2013 show, such entertainment and talent their music and live performances🤘😊 I want my tears back, Song of my self, Ever Dream, just To name a few. Curious To see which one you prefer as your favourite 😊
Hey there, a new subber drawn in by Nightwish here. Love your reactions! There's no escaping the epicness of Nightwish and Valkyrie Floor! Looking forward to the rest, which I will be watching now, because who needs sleep anyway! Thanks! xx
🤘👊 Yeah! Great! It is viewable, how you're enjoying this! Do more... they have a lot of good stuff. 😊 My favourites from Wacken add. to GLS and Romanticide are: Dark Chest Of Wonders (opening song) Ever Dream - also my 8-year doughters favourite... Storytime Nemo Ghost River Song Of Myself Last Ride Of The Day ... hmmm... actual... ALL! 😄 Try also The Islander from Tampere for Marcos (bass) great talent. Go ahead, I really like your reactions! 👍😁
@@tomm.8571 Hey! Guten Morgen!!
The Nobodies.
Just gonna say here i was a person who always said metal is shit i don't like people screaming into a mic it gives me a headache..... ended up watching a dutch show called beste zangers and floor jansen showed up who is the lead singer for nightwish and i have heard of nightwish but never really gave it any chance until i saw that show last week, i looked up the band nightwish and i have to say This woman and the bandmembers are so good at what they do they showed me i was so wrong about metal i love what they do and will follow every step they take.
One happy sub here just passing through in his quest to see as many reactions to NW as humanly possible. Just to see how versatile Floor is watch "NORTHWARD - While Love Died (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)". P.S. Good music is good regardless of genre/sub-genre, but I have to admit that for me good music mostly equals metal.
I don't get how some people can't appreciate operah or symphonic music linking with metal. Heavy metal has long borrowed stuff from classical music. It's more like an established bridge.
May i suggest something from Folk Metal? Eluveitie - Rebirth or Call Of The Mountains. And don't forget The Greatest Show On Earth live from Nightwish.
Please: make a video of the heavyest song of Nightwish: Master Passion Greed (even the name is badass). Unfortunatelly there are not live videos, but that song is awesome and full of power. Would like to watch it.
Can't go wrong with anything from this show, so you have plenty left :). If you want to take a little break from NW (sacrilege, i know lol), check out a Swiss folk metal band called Eluveitie (elVAYtee), the song Rebirth. Pretty confident that, unless you're already familiar with them, that it will surprise the shite right out of ya :)
Dude, you want to bring the subs? Bring in the TOOL Army! 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥 My first suggestion is Parabol/Parabola. When it comes to TOOL vids, you'll want to wear quality headphones (not buds), stick to lyric videos, and be ready to have your Third Eye opened. 👁 ENJOY!!!
Verbal Droppings, another group that has a huge following is, Home Free. Their fans, known as Home Fries, are extremely enthusiastic! A good start to your journey is, Honey I'm Good. If you're unaware, they are an a capella group consisting of four Lead Singers and a Beat Boxer who can also sing when called for. They have a country vibe, but not overly so. As you listen, keep reminding yourself that there are NO INSTRUMENTS. 😁
