@@VerbalDroppings Great stuff, thanks! Hopefully i didn't come across as hassling you, I was just not sure if it had worked and looking at your channel, I was wondering if you were wanting to focus more onto beatboxing and looping. Talking of that though, have you seen Sam Perry on The Voice Australia? I'm sure he's not the best looping artist, but his audition is fun and I'm glad he was on there, I enjoyed all his performances. I think that him going on there probably has inspired people to get into that sort of thing. My brother likes Beardyman, so I might have to direct him at your channel. :-) Sam Perry on The Voice Australia just for interest: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-amhVUWK2KkA.html

Floor Jansen is so underrated, in my opinion. Unless you know her bands, ReVamp, After Forever, Northward and Nightwish. She is far and away the best vocalist going and it's so sad that so many will never hear her voice because she fronts a Symphonic, Metal, Rock Band and many will just by-pass because of this. As for the band, having seen them several times with the three girls singing, I have to say in my opinion, Floor has just taken them to a Higher League. Tarja was very good however one dimensional. Annette, I thought was vocally was lacking and having seen Floor, well, the and appear more complete than ever before. Bringing the very best out of "ALL". Tuomas looks so happy perhaps it's hearing his songs, sung with such Power and Control and with so much Emotion. Marco a great vocalist in his own right, compliments Floor, Emppu is just amazing and whoever they have drumming and driving the band from the back be it Jukka or Kai and the addition of Troy now make Nightwish complete...I for one can't wait to see them again and again. No Matter the Cost. To see a real show and not just a Gig is what Nightwish bring. Absolutely Fabulous ♥♥ The above is only my opinion

While the song itself of a story of the Earth and evolution of life, I like the little musical humour included, where they actually play out the development of human music within about 20 seconds: the song goes quiet, you hear voices, then some medieval music, then a very classical symphonic sound, then a riff from Metallica's Enter Sandman, and finally an electronic beat serving as a breakdown leading to the final verse of the song itself.

off the same album this song came from is "The Eyes of Sharbat Gula". tuomas was inspired by the picture of "Afghan Girl", that one photo cover off national geographic. it was initially supposed to have lyrics included, but tuomas said that every time he tried to come up with lyrics for it they fell short and lessened its impact, so he kept it instrumental. it's an absolutely beautiful piece of music.

There are those who say that the intro is too long and the transitions not so smooth. To those I say that they are most likely intentional, since this song tells the story from the beginning of the universe to our time. There really was not much happening before and after the Big Bang for a long time (i.e. the intro) and evolution wasn't that smooth either (i.e. the transitions). P.S. In addition to his solo projects, Tuomas also has a band project "Auri" together with his wife Johanna Kurkela (a Finnish singer) and Troy Donockley (Nightwish's multi-instrumentalist).

Now it is a firm favourite and a song I hunger for reactions to. I especially like it when people get it straight away (unlike me) It's just a masterpiece! Few of my experiential experiences are: One: Everything happens only once. Even what appears to be a most repetitive routine, only happens once. 'Can't step into the same river twice'. Two: everything was quite OK, before I was born, so if that's where 'I' am going back to. It's OK. Three: there is no 'I' anyway, and there is no 'other'.

It was beyond belief, I was there :) About halfway of that walk-out-thing on the left side looking from stage towards crowd edit: As for non-metal music by Tuomas? Check his solo album "The Life and Times of Scrooge" as well as the self-titled album from Auri (Tuomas, Donockley & Tuomas's wife Johanna Kurkela). Also "Satojen merien näkijä" from Johanna Kurkela's "Hyvästi, Dolores Haze" album is by Tuomas.

Tuomas Holopainen - Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge. It's the only album he released under his own name so far. It's beautiful, and I'm planing on buying that LP this month.

Just seeing your reaction now, for that I apologize. NightWish Army Wisconsin Chapter here! You want to hear some symphonic music from him without the metal? He has a side project (2 albums) with his wife Johanna And Troy. That band would be Auri. It is symphonic meditation music based on human nature and history. Love your reactions! ❤️🤘

Their later albums have a third CD that has entirely symphonic instrumental versions of all the songs on the album, no metal. This song included. You should check that out. Also, the low wind instrument Troy plays in the beginning is called a tin flute, or a tin whistle. I think in the D key. He plays uilleann pipes later on. If you watch the performance of this song in Wembley Arena, you also get to see Richard Dawkins himself come up on stage in the end.

I hope they'll be able to bring their full production over across the pond for you guys, but don't be disappointed if they can't do that and play at smaller venues, since they are not very known in the states..

I'm so glad you did this one, and watched to the end. I find that the experience is more complete with Richard Dawkins. I wish I could have been there. I'm waiting for their next tour, I haven't seen them live yet.....but I will.

There are a couple of virtual concerts in 2021, to book on Nightwish.com. The dates for you depend on where you are around the World. Apart from Nightwish at Wembley SSE indoors, I have rearranged dates in 2021 close to me in Leeds and Bradford for Diana Ross, The Who, and Rick Wakeman. I can't really see those being rearranged again in 2022.

They released an album Imaginaerum (The Score) which is what I think you're looking for when you asked for music from Tuomas without the metal. It's beautiful and I love to listen to it while working.

I so want to see (or hear, you could say) Toumas score a movie. He has such a good sense of instrumentation and theatricality, it would be awesome.

It exists. The album is The Life and Times of Scrooge. He partnered with the cartoonist who created Scrooge McDuck. I have the album and it is very good. The Last Sled is my favorite from that album.

When they do come to the US again, look for them in smaller theaters. We don’t get them in big shows like this here. It is still a good show. I have seen them twice and met them once. Very good here but different. This video was film at home in Finland so home court crowd. This band is the biggest think to come out of Finland or so I have read.

Wondering if anyone here knows the purpose of the last break where the enter Sandman riff is? If you catch it, it's a sequence of the evolution of music - starting with chants/ohms going to classical, to a banjo to metal and electronica. I just thought it was clever....

If you want to hear something that’s not metal that Tuomas composed, try the album Auri, it’s a joined work between Tuomas, his wife Johanna, and Troy.

The story is about the evolution of the universe and hence life here, we are all made of star stuff so, atoms in general. When we die it makes no difference about your beliefs. The atoms go their own way and you become something new, part of you can become a flower or bee, some will go back into the universe and become something else . So in reality you never die.

yes, he’s got two solo projects out by now. an album "The Life And Times Of Scrooge" under his own name and a self-titled album by his solo project AURI. both almost entirely symphonic. check those out. you won’t be disappointed.
@ekaterinacreviston-johnson5003
Check out "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck". It is a comic book story that Holopainen wrote an entire soundtrack for it. It isn't symphonic metal but he wrote all of it himself. Tuomas Holopainen is such a rare talent. It will blow your mind when you hear the songs.
