REACTION - Nightwish - 'Song of Myself' - Live at Wacken 2013 

I’m new to the nw army, and I’ve been listening to all their live shows for months now. This band kicks ass live !! The only problem is it’s hard to listen to the studio albums because I’m so spoiled. of course the albums have their place as well, but live is where they kill it. It’s like taking drugs 🤣🤣

It's strange to think I've been listening to Nightwish for almost 20 years now. They really are just incredible. Please keep them coming. You're on your own journey and I'm totally here for it!

Man, I'm so happy to have Jukka's drumstick on the wall in front of me, every reaction I see its importance and appreciation grows for me, especially now that he is no longer playing, I'm so lucky to have caught it at the end of one of the concerts I've been to! This was the favorite song, of the Matriarch of the Nightwish Army, Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish Fans ever. She passed away this past summer, or at least that's when I learned of it. This will always be the Song of Ann to the Army. RIP Ann Great video.

Can't imagine Floor doing this Song in Future without Marko, it' so sad he was leaving. Wacken 2013 was the greatest Show i have ever seen in my life. Love Floor so much. Every single music piece of Nightwish toughes my heart...or better said, hits it like crazy. I am a metalhead for more than 30 years, love all styles (except stupid blackmetal) but this caught my heart for real. This song is extremely deep and dark. Yes, if your looking for Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Chorus, done... your not going to find that in a Nightwish song... Toumas "the Keyboard player' writes 85-90% of all Nightwish songs.. He sends out the initial sound tracks to the others.. They collaborate, then get together to finish the songs and put their individual finishing touches to it.. Toumas composes the symphonic and choir parts, he works with groups like the London Philharmonic to record the backing sounds and vocals they use in their live performances.. So, the songs typically revolve around what he's feeling or what happens to be inspiring him at the time.. Most of these songs, especially the long, epic multipart songs... have an elaborate back story on what they are about, and how they came about..

Shorter and not so many twists and turns, but very high energy and a perfect way to close the show. Also check out the opener "Dark Chest of Wonders", a great way to open the show. You are doing this right. Watch a bunch of live stuff with Floor before you tackle Poet and the Pendulum... and The Greatest Show on Earth. Also, do the research on those two before your reaction. The songs are epic on their own but mind-blowing if you know the backstory.
