She went from "will you still love me when I'm nothing new?" to "and when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed, you put me on and said I was your favorite."
OK, this is a month old comment, but I'll just skip that. I'm Chilean. As a country, we hug, kiss, would probably grab each other's arms in a similar scenario with the same ease and might occasionally push each other in a soft way. The tender hitting of the arms seems pretty normal too. If something exciting were to happen to me or a friend, I would be grabbing her arm and swaying us in the craziest way. Yep, we are a fun crowd
Forever Winter is speculated to be about Taylor’s old friend Jeff Lang who passed away in 2010. She use to share her music with him before it even went out to public to get his opinion. 😢 she sang during his funeral and won an award the next day and dedicated it to him.
Do you guys like us reacting to the whole album or would you prefer just the vault songs? I hope you enjoy this video as I worked so hard on the editing to make it fun and entertaining even thought its long 🥰❤️
Forever Winter is actually about a Taylor's friend Jeff Lang who committed suicide after suffering from drug overdose and mental health illness. He died two weeks after Speak Now came out and taylor dedicated the award she won for the album to him saying she sang the song at his friend's funeral day before BMI awards.
Your friends are real ones coming in with all the lyrics. This seems like such a beautiful group of friends experiencing a wonderful album together, thank you for letting us be part of this
This makes me want to take a trip to Australia just to sit with all of you sipping coffee .....like were on a late night show haha and listen to the next release. I truly believe its going to be speak now because..... she had a match box merch for red with 19 matches in it. "Dont you think 19s to young to played by your dark twisted games" But I took your matches before fire could catch me so don't look now. Screams Speak Now
@@blinkforpinks6079 nothing has been confirmed, but people are assuming that this is such a big part of Taylor's experience and career that she wouldn't not document it
@@jankova0013 I'm definitely sure she has documented the rerecordings and stuff because she does it for ever album in existence of hers. So y'know..... You never know 👀
Funny thing, Ed Sheeran actually liked Run better than Everything Has Changed and he was so happy when Taylor asked him to re-record it he always felt that was their best collaboration

Nothing New breaks my heart because she wrote this before the whole TS is over party debacle after 1989. So she was already worried about how long people would "allow" her to be successful, a concept she mentioned in Miss Americana too, and then people tore her down in exactly the way she feared in Nothing New.
I'll twist the knife about Ronan a little more, but the lyrics where actually composed using quotes from the blog Ronan's mother wrote (and is still writing to this day) where she is writing directly TO Ronan... And then Taylor credited Maya as co-writer... So yeah 😅😭
And to make it even harder the lyric video she released for Taylor’s version is photo clips of Ronan and his family. Really didn’t need to cry that much when it came up but there was no possible way not to.
I think the reason that Girl at Home was done different was maybe it was how Taylor originally imagined it to be. She never said it so this is all from pure assumption but from what I remember Girl at Home (2012) felt very unfinished honestly. It's also amazing that this just proves how through these re-recordings, she just can do whatever she wants.
I think she’s said before that Girl At Home stolen version was a demo? Maybe she told Scott she wanted to make it poppy and he said no so she just used the demo! Maybe that’s why it was on the deluxe not the standard because she wasn’t super happy with it?
About the “Fuck the patriarchy” lyric, someone pointed out that it’s probably supposed to be that the keychain had the words “Fuck the patriarchy” instead of it being said by Taylor or Jake. So it brings out his false hipster feminism , and that keychain is so opposite to how he’s treating a woman. I think that’s a very interesting narrative to take too since he’s really painted as a hipster-indie-too-cool-to-try-to-impress-your-dad energy.
That's why it's in quotations. "Fuck the patriarchy" keychain. That he's tossing to her, making her pick up. Hence, the opposite action to the words. My god some people are dense lol
All The Artsy crawl back under the rock you came from buddy. There are two perfectly acceptable explanations for the lyric. It could either be a direct quote from a person or an inscription on the keychain. This channel is a happy place where people come to exchange ideas, not throw insults around.
@@cmcm4204 "And you were tossing me the car keys Fuck the patriarchy (out of context, just said by... someone, i guess) Keychain on the ground" Suuuure that makes sense
It's actually crazy how with Nothing New the allusions totally fit with Olivia Rodrigo even though the song was written years ago (as seen in the Lover diaries)
As someone who struggles with mental health and has had a really rough year where I wanted to leave more times than I can count, Forever Winter makes me absolutely bawl . . . I know it may sound corny, but when I hear her say "please don't go" it feels like it's directed at me. It makes me remember that there are people who'd miss me, who'd fall to pieces on the floor if I left. It reminds me that I'm not just fighting for me and my future self, but my brothers, my mother, my dogs, and everyone who loves me as well. My favorite vault track by far
@@andweoop3254 Thank you for your well wishes, blessadly I am coming out the other side of what felt like an endless dark spell. Every day gets just bit brighter. And to anyone who stumbles upon this comment keep fighting for your future self - you will always be grateful you did. I certainly am.
Forever winter is about a friend from high school. She talked about singing at his funeral getting a BMI award in 2010. Speak now had just come out, so she probably wrote this song as if he was still here regretting she couldn't do more for him.
This album captured Taylor's true potential as an artist- lyrically and from a production standpoint. The re-release proves who she was always meant to be and now IS.
I think the "Girl at home" taylor's version was the actual sound Taylor envisioned it to be in the original album. And remember that Scott and the management of her label required her to have a certain number of "country-sounding" songs and so they just decided to convert it to the country sound we all grown to know in the first record.

The fact that Taylor featured phoebe on a song that should’ve been on the original album….. she’s trying to kill me. It’s just too offensive and iconic and rude. So excited for this!
I love the Lucky one but Nothing New feels so much more personal, in terms of references and now looking in hindsight how things have played out for her... It's my favourite track from vault as well
@@chatsandreacts I also immediately thought about Olivia, so so weird she did not post anything regarding Red on her social media, radio silence, quite sad, wish she can still be herself and spontaneous, despite entourage and pressure
Do you know that Maya wrote most of the lyrics herself on a blog about Ronans journey? Taylor was so touched by her words that she decided to make a song out of it and Maya is listed as a songwriter for this one.
This album is just like nostalgia bottled for me, it was such an overwhelming experience hearing Taylor's versions of the songs that I listened to during my teenage years
1:16:57 The swinging arms chorus when Bonny is ~enjoying~ and Emily is ~processing~ is a big mood. Now I can't get a hypothetical, slightly slower, more strings version of Message In A Bottle by The Corrs out of my brain Bonny!!! Amazing call 🤩 x
the thing i like about this reaction is that y’all embraced the slight differences in some songs. Some reactors were like “It DoEsnT SOuNd ThE SaMe!” and i was like… yeah, it’s been almost a decade. So thank you for allowing the re-recordings to live their own lives without holding them completely to the originals.
I love that the all too wells have different sounds. It gives the five minute version it's own moment and makes sure that it doesn't get lost under the ten minute version. She's a genius
@@phoebepitman2025 it might be her high school friend, he passed away from a drug overdose, she mentions him in her bmi award. we won't know for sure, it could even be about her brother
I still can not get over how perfect All Too Well 10 minutes is. It is the WHOLE PACKAGE. I've listened to it practically on repeat all week. And isn't it amazing how it doesn't FEEL like a 10 minute song?!
I think part of why her voice sounds so incredible on these recordings is because, unlike when she first recorded them, she has been performing these songs for almost a decade. She knows how the smallest of changes can impact the listener and how to perform the intricacies of each line in the most superior way. Practice makes even better than perfect ✨❤️
I love how it went from “I think it’s strange that you think I’m funny ‘cause he never did” with Begin Again to “I was never good at telling jokes, but the punchline goes…” in All Too Well (10 min)
14:26 Wait, was that “Taylor Swift knows who we are” because she gave us all the 10 minute version of All Too Well that we never knew just how desperately we needed, or did I miss her acknowledging you two somewhere?!? 😱👏 x
Ahh thank you for letting me know, just found the TikTok! That's one of my faaavourite moments of their folklore reaction video so I can't *believe* Taylor saw it. So happy for you two!! 😻 x
I believe Forever Winter is about her friend Jeff Lang who died right after Speak Now released. She sang at his funeral the day before she won BMI Country Songwriter of the Year. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zp1peBYUT00.html For context, he died in November and her 21st B-Day was a month later.
I don't even know that it was Taylor deciding "the world's not ready" for the "f*ck the patriarchy" line; If I had to guess I would say the label pressured her to not include it because they wanted to maintain her "good girl" image. I think she really had to censor herself in a lot of ways because of that. And I 100% believe it was in the original because I think Jake probably genuinely had a "F*ck the Patriarchy" keychain because that was the persona he presented to the world but wasn't really living it in their relationship, and I think that's the whole point of that line.
How beautiful is it that Taylor and Ed wrote Ran together as their first song as new friends ten years ago and now they’re still close friends ten years later and they finally released this song 🥺❤️
I love how in the beginning of forever winter you both perfectly depict the dual nature of the song, Em worried because of the lyrics and bon just vibing to the production
Forever winter is about Jeff lang, one of Taylor’s friend who overdosed after speak now was released hence the lyrics, “all this time I didn’t know, you were breaking down”
Red re-recording is sooo iconic but imagine if Taylor collaborates with Harry Styles for 1989. Harry has always been respectful of Taylor after the breakup and I think they’re on good terms now.
I love nothing new it epitomises Taylor’s emotional and social intelligence not to mention her musical ability! It also reminds me of this quote from a book that stuck with me about the viciousness of people -“they’re gonna bleed you out till your nothing, and then they’re gonna ask how you died”
@@livbarberr They met on the kids choice awards (March 31st, 2012). It was rumored that they were interested in each other after that, and started talking (not quite dating, but yeah). Then some photos of Harry kissing another girl were leaked. So Taylor called off whatever was happening between them (hence "I knew you were trouble" was created, and yes that one is about him bc the guy in the mv has a ship tattoo). So yeah, I think "the very first night" is about Harry, but at the very beginning of their relationship.
It’s not Harry; this is about Jake. Back when Jake Taylor dated he flew her out to London, and they had a romantic hotel date in London. Harry and Taylor only dated later in late 2012 the album was already done then.
@@keyshlanarvaez6921 This isn’t true though. In that same article (Vanity Fair) his representative and friend, Ben, denies those claims. The “source” in that quote said, “their hands were up in each other’s hair” but when you look up the photos, there are 0 photos with Harry’s hands in a models hair, or hers in his. What debunks this as well is after KCA’s, One Direction flew out to Saturday Night Live, located in NY. Taylor flew out too and was there the same week as One Direction, but instead was spending time with Dianna, some singer-guy whomever it was, and Emma Stone. She never visited Harry. If we believe those rumours, then that means Taylor dated Harry for only 1-week, or actually 3-4 days realistically as soon as they met. It just doesn’t make much sense.
Omg Ari is so cute!! She’s like why are y’all so excited? What’s going on? What’s happening? She’s excited because y’all are excited. I just can’t with her! I love her. Also Emily and Bonny y’all are ICONIC. Such a perfect representation of Swifties❤️

The way I initially thought Message In A Bottle would be a sad song, and it ended up being THE BOP after Mr Perfectly Fine!!!! So Unwell!!!! And yes Emily and Bonny leading all the Swifties in Taylor's Era, thank you so much, definitely worth the wait! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I feel like Taylor Swift herself will be watching this video and smiling the whole time because the vibe you two have is just... I don't know, I can't explain. Love u ❤️
The way I'm not able to watch a 1 hour and 45 min long lecture, but on the other hand, I have no problems with watching a 1 hour 45 min long reaction video from Bonny and Emily, AND I'M HERE FOR IT ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@JustJulie-cz8fs it’s literally on the same album as perfect “and if you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about” so it’s not out of the realm of possibility
Red definitely has the potential to be the most iconic re-recording BUT have you considered the possibility that 1989 with Style ft. Harry Styles could totally beat that??? Omg
I have a feeling that she may not give 1989 tv the same huge come-out publicity because 1989 has already reached a peak at that time with great single choices and Grammy, even though she will add vault songs into it, 1989 does not really have so much regrets for fans and herself as Red does . But I do feel she may make it similar with red tv when reputation tv is out.😆
There’s an old interview with Taylor floating around where she’s talking about All to Well and how she had to pair it down from the 10 minutes, and she mentions she had the f-word on it but took it out. Could be that “fuck the patriarchy” was always there… 🤷🏻♀️
In the very first night, it says “they don’t know about the night in the hotel” and I immediately thought of 1D’s song perfect which is suspected being about Taylor from the line “if you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about, baby I’m perfect”, the music video takes place in a hotel room as well and describes that feeling that their love might crash and burn but feels perfect in the moment.
The best thing about being a Swiftie and Taylor re-recording and re-releasing her albums again and listening to the songs we’ve heard a hundred times and freaking out about it
Watching in Nov 2022... I discovered you two a few days ago while digging deeper into the midnighTS tracks. I have to say that you two are my new digital besties (which I need because I live alone). You two are so fun, sweet, positively beautiful, and knowledgeable about music, music production, Taylor Swift, lore and lyric... It is OFFENSIVE how much you know about our beloved Queen's career and music. I'm so proud of you for putting together this wonderful channel with truly amazing videos. So much here to enjoy. Excellent editing!! If you aren't rich 🤑 yet from all these skills, you should be. 💜💜💜
I'm not sure if you will read this but I just wanna say THANK YOU to your channel. Prior watching your reaction videos I was a casual listener of Taylor's music. But you taught me guys how beautiful her discography is, so thank you thank you and happy Red season!!❤️🧣🍁
Bonny, you are a legend for editing this and cradling that speaker listening to the re-records. Edit: I appreciate that you all reacted to IBYTAM exactly the way I did at 1030 at night in my house. 🤯
I literally woke up from a dream this morning about you guys posting this video. I actually checked my phone as soon as I woke up! I love you guys! I listen to a few TS reactors, but you two are the best. I love your energy and genuine emotions ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bless you Bonny for editing this so quickly. Now I'm going to sit here and react to every song with both of you like I haven't already had a breakdown over my favorite album. I have no friends in real life who love Taylor so y'all are going to be my Swiftie friends. I also agree that the vault tracks on this album are better than Fearless for me. It's the best mix of what she wanted for this album and you can clearly see that she wanted to go full pop so badly. Now I'm dying for what we'll get from 1989 and reputation vault tracks.
Really love to see your reaction, the way you breakdown lyrics, research on the spot and able to find possible links to different songs she wrote, is unbelievable. It's like going through your favorite album with your people.
HIII! new Swiftie here :) since the end of THIS February 2022!!!! Thanks to All too well 10 minutes version! I have always loved Taylor Swift wouldn’t consider myself a Swiftie as I love all genres of music! All too well 10 minute version had me hooked I instantly was a red TV stan!!! Since I have crawled down the rabbit hole own every single vinyl she’s ever released etc!!! Upon hearing the moment I knew after all too well 10 minutes to me it is also a masterpiece and Tells us Soooo much!!! Her poor little 21 year old broken heart! We’ve all been there as women even men with that much older person who dropped our damn hand !!! I would have to say the moment I knew is also one of my top five favorites along with all too well 10 minutes ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks ladies for letting us be part of your friend group while listening to the album. Your positive attitude always reminds me that it's ok to fully enjoy and analyse Taylor's music without hesitation 🤗 Also, Bonnie loving The Last Time... Yess Queen!!
Now with the added context we get in All Too Well (10 minute version) I completely understand why 22 comes immediately after All Too Well. Because turning 21 was supposed to be fun, but it wasn’t, and so her 22nd birthday needed to be the most fun ever. 😭 Also, We Are Never Getting Back Together (‘he calls me and he’s like “I still love you”’ is so much more painful after ‘you never called it what it was ‘til we were dead and gone and buried’) and The Moment I Knew hit different now.
I appreciate it so much that you post the full album reaction 🥺 thank you for taking the time to edit this video, I love to see the whole experience and not just the vault tracks reactions ❤️❤️
