My great grandfather was an American soldier in the trenches of the Argonne. He was the sole survivor of his platoon and only survived because he hid under a pile of dead bodies when the Germans came through his trench with their bayonets looking for survivors. My dad told me they barely missed him; he could feel them bayonetting the bodies around him. He was honorably discharged for his wounds, including mustard gas poisoning, and even got a signed letter from General Pershing. I never met the man since he died before I was born, but I wish I had; everything my dad and grandparents tell me about him leaves me in awe.

And what about the thousands of innocent lives in the middle east thats been destroyed thanks to the US? What about all these refugees in Europe right now? Think they are glad? Or you actually belive the world circle around you? If only the humanity would wake up, and stop doing what their fuckup countries tell them to. People to this day, fight for corrupt leaders that only want power and coin, nothing else. While the soldiers gain nothing, just the illusion that they protect their country. So if you belive in God, aint the entire planet his creation? The illsuion of countries is the worst that have happend to mankind. That and religions. And no im not a commie or a fucking libtard, so take that thought out of your brainwashed brain. Every human are worth the same, everyone! 99% of the population want peace i can assure. Its all a game for the elite and highborns, nothing else. And we are the stupid brainwashed people that do their bidding while they sit on their asses drinking single malt and smoking cigarrs. As i said humanity aint smarter today than they where 600 years ago. Ego and brainwashing controlls us sadly, even though most people cant see it. Dont get me wrong, im so happy that you are alive and back home. But take a minute to analyze the meaning of your words, without involving the ego. I know soldiers belive strongly in what they are doing, why else would they put their life on the line? And that is honourable. But their actions are the opposit im afraid. The problem is that humanity cant think for themselfs, and that is a big problem. What i dont get though is soldiers that belive in god, how can someone that belive strongly in god even consider taking another life? As i mentioned, people are as brainwashed and controlled today as we were 600 years ago, its just a different kind of brainwashing today.

Gustavus Adolphus in a way I understand your point. But this is a guy from the battlefield. We have no idea what he has been threw. Your comment should be made to the politicians, not a single soldier being glad he is back home, and most likely with some of his brothers and sisters not coming back home at all. As Sabaton sing, “always remember, a father and a son.. “

'The Great War' is what ww 1 is referred to, it was believed to be the war to end all wars because of the death toll, my grand father served with the RAF in WW2 in Africa and the battle of Britton , he would not talk about what he saw, but I know he lost good friends. So the lyric "Great war , there will be no encore" makes more sense when you know the history.

Check out Sabaton's Night Witches lyric video. It's about the regiment of female Russian pilots in WWII. They were mostly young women, in their late teens or early 20s. They were given old plywood biplanes with canvas wings, carrying two bombs. They would idle their engines as they approached the targets, glide in silently, except for the wind in the wires supporting the wings. The terrified Germans thought it sounded like witches on broomsticks, thus their name, Nichthexen in German. Then they would drop the bombs, restart their engines & fly home to reload, several times a night. The bombs were carried under the wings, & if the release mechanism malfunctioned, these women would walk out on the wing & release the bomb by hand. Their story is astonishing, & movies have been made about them. And it's a great song.

But yeah even Stephen told me about his family or least his mother's side and unbelievable to hear it all. Sabatons album "The Great War" is all about WWI known as the The Great War. This one is about the Battle of Passchendaele. Allied Casualties: (Wounded, Missing & Killed) 200,000 to 448,614 (British, Australian, Canadian, Indian, French, Belgium & South African) German Casualties: 217,000-410,000 & 24,065 German prisoners taken. The historical version of the album tells you what each songs about with a little of history. If you get the chance check out "The Red Barron" or "Attach Of The Dead Men" they are two of the better songs on this album. Thanks for the video brother.

The First World War was dubbed the title of "The Great War". Do "The Attack of the Dead men". This song (The Attack of the Dead men) is about the Eastern front of the conflict on the Polish-Prussian border with Russian. The German Empire started nomarus assaults and artillery bombardments onto the stronghold in Ocowiec fortress. The fortress held for a really long time. So at the forward trench of the German line, they formulated a plan to unleash Mustert gas on the fort and the wind was going in the desired direction which the Germans wanted. They flooded the battlefield and the fort under a fog of death. After the gas settled, the Germans advanced onto the fort of Ocowiec, but was shocked at a sight straight out of horror fiction; the men sprung to life for one last counterattack. The German force was scared to the bone and turned and ran back to their frontline. The Russian men's lungs was so badly damaged from inhaling the gas that they were spitting out peaces of their lungs and liters of blood, but they managed to beat back von Hindenburg's (the commanding General of the army stationed at the German front with Russian) army. Secondly also do a reaction on "82nd all the way".

For the new album they have a lyric video for The Red Baron: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3PXzgXBRM_k.html 82nd All the Way: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0LS0Z8fgiII.html And a nice little fan made video for Attack of the Dead Men: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0fXJvKEVCAM.html Of course, the whole Great War album is out, and everything from that album is good.

Hey I really like your reactions especially to these Sabaton videos, on their music videos like these there are usually captions that you can enable so you can still get the video and the lyrics

I love SABATON. there whole album (the great war) is about WW1.... just pick some sabaton song from their channel and maybe check out sabaton history, where they explain the context of their songs... i learned history better there then at school. because they used music for the context ;p

When you react to songs off the Great War album you should try to find the history edition versions. They give background on what the songs about. Or check their separate channel Sabaton history to see if they’ve done an episode about that particular song yet. They go really in depth with the history of the song, perfect for one of your trademarked two pieces.
