The Warning were being accused of being “malanchista”, a derogatory term, meaning ‘cultural sell out”. Not everyone in Mexico appreciated that their songs were exclusively in english. This is basically a big old FU, to those folks. Paulina just told her critics “I hear you, I dismiss you. I will do what I want”. Brilliant idea. This was the first time, they performed Narcisista publicly, btw.

A malochista is a cultural traitor. Some one complained about them singing in English instead of Spanish and this song was Pau's response to the criticism. If you want a song where Dany sings the verses and Pau sings the chorus you need to listen to Survive. It's from the XXI Century Blood album.
A fun fact about this performance. They had just come back from a 3 week vacation. The first one in years. They got back 2 days before this show, had a day of press, and 1 day of rehearsal. They were so tight, even though that was the first time that song was performed live. It was released that day. Better be careful, they can be addictive. :)

BEHIND THE MUSIC: The Warning have said as kids, family time was eating popcorn and watching ,Classic rock performances , like Queen, Cream ,etc. Thus ,you hear classic rock influences in the bands music.
This was the 'release' performance of the song, which might explain a bit - One of my favorite bands. Too bad due to current circumstances their concert in Denver was canceled. Was looking forward to seeing them live finally.
I had tickets to see them in Denver and to go to El Paso to see them there. I still plan to travel to El Paso in October. You might want to make that trip, depending on where you live. It will be worth it!
the song is a response to the people who criticize them for singing in English, the phrase " no soy loca ni malinchista (I'm not crazy or malinchista)" refers to the fact that they keep their feet on the ground and the fact that if they sing english it doesn't mean that they despise their land or their country, here in México, people often point out to others who don't like certain things typical of Mexico, for example I have been called a malinchista just to express that I don't like a certain type of Mexican regional music. The term "malinchista" comes from an indigenous woman called "la malinche" who gave herself to Hernan cortez and preferred to adopt the Spanish way of life, a curiosity is that the malinche, they say was in life the woman who today is the legend of "la llorona" (the crywoman)

I speak just enough Spanish to be dangerous, so I knew they were p.o'd at somebody.😮 Like others have mentioned, it's currently their only Spanish language song that has been released so far, and what a 'banger' it is!! It was an instant hit with the live audiences, as you saw here. This was actually the first live debut of Narcisista, and the rest of this particular show at Foro DiDi is available on their YT channel. Definitely worth the watch. With these young ladies, it's hard to listen to just a couple of their songs, especially if you like the 'classic' rockers. They draw their style from the great bands and vocalists of the 70's, 80's, and 90's, put their own unique twist on it, and add their own catchy lyrics. The result is one of the biggest and best sounds I've heard in the last 30 years or so. They are very addictive, and always working on something new. Here's hoping you might be interested enough to come and join us in helping these amazing young ladies become the future of rock & roll. Love it, I don't know Spanish but somehow I think it is about a big mouth who is full of himself or maybe herself. I saw an interview with them and this was there first Spanish, they have only written English songs, so they had some problems. Even though they speak in Spanish there grammar in it was not that great. So they wrote the song, showed it to their mom and she had to help them rewrite it so it could be better understood in Spanish, I guess it was written in Spanish but in English grammar. Also, the interviewer asked them about the computer next to the drummer and she said she makes sure the background video is working and she handles a click-track, so she does that and plays the drums and sings.
It is worth looking up their story. They started with a cover of Enter Sandman when Dani was 14 - Pau 12 and Ale just 9! The bass was bigger than her... LOL They have a wide variety of music - all rock but a good variety. Never Mind I see you have listened to Dust to Dust... :-)
We all love Pau we adore Ale but Dani has my respect for all she does plus it takes courage to play with them two. On one side she never knows when sheds of drumsticks will hit her or when the other sister may kick her

It's hard to recommend just one song. So maybe something from the first album before jumpinging in to QOTMS. Maybe Shattered Hard or heck just jump right into the second song of QOTOMS since you already did the first song Dust to Dust.
